Thank you to the publisher for this book.
I enjoyed every page of this book. It is a hysterical fun, relaxing read.

I love romance, but this one was totally different from the typical romance novel.

The characters, Camilla and Owen, are unique. You must read this book and get to know them. The Owen's family is all so funny, and the story is one you will throughly enjoy. I promise!

I don't hesitate to highly recommend this book.

I absolutely enjoy the writing voice of Jen Turano. The story was whimsical and light hearted. I loved the cadence of the story, how different plot points of the story unfolded. This was classic Jen Turano with all the fun and funny antics or situations the characters get themselves into. The characters were charming and lovable. I appreciated the underlying message. The whole story thoughtful and insightful. The plot really did fit the title and it was such a fun read. This is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. A couple of charcters from a previous book make a cameo but doesn't distract or confuse the current story. Jen Turano books & this title are on the definite re-read list.

Meeting Her Match is the third and final installment in an extremely fun series. Finally, Camilla, matchmaker extraordinaire, gets her own happily ever after. Of course, that doesn’t happen simply, or without a lot of witty repartée.

Camilla vowed never to marry after her heart was smashed by a British cad looking to add money to bankroll his aristocratic lifestyle. Although older and able to understand what happened, Camilla is still determined to never all in love. Then she collides with Owen Chesterfield who needs her elite skills as a member of the New York Four Hundred, to restore his tomboy sister’s reputation.

Needing to get out of New York after a failed abduction, Camilla travels to West Virginia where a whole different set of societal rules keep her on her elegant toes. With some of the older mountain folk unimpressed by Camilla’s genteel ways, there’s scope for all sorts of misadventure and Turano has a field day with the endless possibilities.

I enjoyed the humor, and the banter, and the unpredictable turns of the plot. Most of all, I loved the tender love stories, all bringing different types of healing to the couples involved. This is a highly fitting end to what’s been a brilliant series.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The enjoyment is all my own.

I started reading this book in ebook form but finished with audio. I have to say this book was filled with so much humor and many laugh out loud moments. The antics and situations the characters find themselves in were believable, funny and relatable. The author did an excellent job bringing a socialite to the country life of West Virginia. I enjoyed the narrator chosen as well. This was another good book in the matchmaker series. I highly recommend it!

West Virginia isn't quite ready for her....

I always need to carve out a block of time whenever I read a Jen Turano book. I know that I am in for a real treat and some very delightful reading, which, in turn means that I won't be able to put it down. I've enjoyed The Matchmakers series from the start so I definitely had to block out some time for just me and Meeting Her Match...

As most eagerly anticipated, Meeting Her Match was everything that I had hoped for and everything that I've come to expect from The Matchmakers series and Jen Turano. I loved every minute of the tale and found myself by turns laughing out loud, shaking my head, and falling in love with the characters – though there were certain ones that I wished to give a well deserved sock in the nose. Once again, the four-legged and furry characters captured my heart – and my funny bone.

There is absolutely nothing that you can't love about Meeting Her Match and I highly recommend it, the rest of The Matchmakers series, and any book by Jen Turano. They always make you laugh, leave you feeling good about having read them, and knowing that you can't wait until the next one. So, dive into the best blend of historical romance and romantic comedy that you can find....

Meeting Her Match by Jen Turano is the third book in The Matchmakers Series and a definite must read if you love inspirational historical romance with a lot of chaotic mishaps, tons of fun with animals and witty banter.
Owen Chesterfield travels to the Hudson River Valley hoping to talk Miss Camilla Pierpont to take on his sister in order to help her be socially acceptable.
After almost being abducted Camilla agrees to Owen's proposition and travels with him to West Virginia to meet his family and to take his sister under her care and tutelage.
What Camilla is most surprised about is how charming she finds Owen, Owen's family and his small hometown, but danger still lurks in wait and has the potential to derange her and Owen's perfect match.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

MEETING HER MATCH is the third novel in The Matchmakers series by JEN TURANO, but it can easily stand alone. I enjoy this author’s humour and her “mostly” lovable characters. The book is also exciting with the threat of abduction, a not so friendly bear, a large spoilt pig and some gun toting mamas!
Camilla Pierpont, a member of the elite NewYork 400 and a former matchmaker, is talked into moving to Wheeling West Virginia with Owen Chesterfield in order to turn his ragamuffin sister Luella into a lady in appreciation for his having saved her from abduction. It is there that the former matchmaker, who has lived a lonely life as an only child of wealthy parents, finds herself not only indulging in matchmaking again but embraced by Owen’s large and delightful family ……
This is a most enjoyable “fun” read and one I highly recommend.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

Jen Turano's books are always such fun to read. You get your witty banter and fun adventures every single time! It was great to finally get Camilla's love story. I really liked Owen and laughed when he kept putting his foot in his mouth. Delightful couple and made for a great day reading/listening to the audio book.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

I have love for inspirational romance but, as first time reader of this author.. I thought the dialog came across irritable. It was a DNF for me as I stopped reading after chapter 9 and hoping it would showcase some of the accolades her reviews give. I also found that there was a lot of side distraction/unnecessary information that the reader did not need to make it a great read. ARC from NetGalley.

Jen Turano's latest book has all the hallmarks of her writing that fans love: charming characters (including several eccentric ones), hiliarious happenings, entertaininlgy digressive dialogue, and, of course, a lovely romance (or two...or three...or...I lost count in this one! There were a lot!) There are so many funny moments and this book is guaranteed to keep readers giggling. My one quibble is that I wish we'd seen Owen and Camilla together more--there were so many side characters that they took up a lot of page time...and while I can't pinpoint any scenes that I'd get rid of, Camilla and Owen were just so cute together that more of them together would have been nice.

4 stars.

I read an ARC provided by the author. All opinions are my own.

Meeting Her Match is another signature Jen Turano gem! Fast-paced dialogue, a romance recipe wielding Meemaw, mishaps, and characters you will love to cheer on are just a bit of what you can expect from the conclusion of The Matchmakers series. Funny and sweetly romantic, this is a series I would read over again!

This another delightful book in this series. Camilla Pierpont is a renowned matchmaker and member of the 400 in NYC. Owen, a prominent businessman from Wheeling, W. Virginia is on his way to secure Camilla's help to sponsor his sister when he helps thwart an attempt to kidnap Camillia. Camilla finds Owen to be an outspoken, but fascinating, man. Before she knows it, Camilla is bustled off to help Owen in W. Virginia, and she finds herself entwined in an effort to couple her up.

When she arrives in Wheeling, Camilla promptly finds herself enveloped by Owen's huge, eccentric family and craziness ensues. I love the character's relationships with each other. Their banter and teasing nature is so fun to read. The crazy capers, goofy animals, and colorful characters made this such a fun read. There are also a lot of moving parts - with more than just Camilla and Owen looking to make a match.

I love this author's books. The heart of the books are warm and fuzzy, but the characters and dialogue are sharp, witty and entertaining. It's the perfect combination in a feel-good book.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book from Austenprose PR and the author. All opinions are my own.

About this book:

“Miss Camilla Pierpont, a renowned matchmaker and influential member of the New York Four Hundred, has vowed never to marry after suffering a devastating heartbreak during her debut years ago. However, when she is nearly abducted along the Hudson River, she finds herself rescued by an annoyingly outspoken, albeit fascinating, gentleman who challenges her in a manner she wasn't expecting.
After learning that Camilla Pierpont has enjoyed success with taking wayward young ladies in hand, Mr. Owen Chesterfield travels to the Hudson River Valley determined to convince Camilla to sponsor his sister, who is in desperate need of social rehabilitation.
Knowing her life is in danger, Camilla agrees to Owen's proposition and travels with him to West Virginia, finding herself charmed by the less-than-formal attitude of his small hometown, as well as by Owen himself. But danger waits in the shadows, disrupting what she knows would be the most spectacular match she's ever made--her own.”

One of my most anticipated reads for 2024 and it met my expectations! I really enjoyed the second book in this series (and would still call it my favorite out of the three) so I was very excited for this one! :)

Owen did feel a bit like other male leads by this author in the way he kept sticking his foot in his mouth—particularly about her gender and the assumed characteristics of women—but it was still humorous. The sibling banter and bickering between Owen and Luella was great. Also, his Meemaw and who especially reminded me of my own Memaw. There was very little faith content which was a little disappointing, but I was glad to see the characters go to church.

This is absolutely hilarious and like every other book by this author, I found myself literally laughing out loud as I was reading this book. I would definitely say this is my favorite series by this author! Everything wraps up with a bow for these characters and while I would have liked to see the couple from the first book again, it was a very cute ending.

There was quite a bit about kissing in regards to the couples, however not much actual kissing on-page; this may alter the rating for younger teens, particularly because of the comment by Owen’s great aunt about making sure your compatible with someone (ie kissing) before you get married to each other. Not quite the message I would want to send to younger teens, but it comes across humorously and somewhat understandably because of said aunt’s marriage to a man who was “worse than a dog”.

This was overall a very fun and very entertaining read, a great ending to an enjoyable series!

Turano is known for her quirky characters, and the laughter she brings to her stories. Meeting Her Match is a story I've been waiting awhile for (Camilla is such a great character), and boy was it worth the wait. When her and Owen met for the first time, and I was essentially rolling on the floor with laughter, I knew I was in for a treat. And a treat it was.

Turano continues to bring a smile to my face with her stories. Camilla and Owen were such a wonderful pair - two people you wouldn't think would belong together, but oh did they belong together. I mean every time they were on the page together I was roaring with laughter, and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Then add a pig to the story - a literal pig - and the laughter just intensifies. I don't know how Turano manages to make me laugh on literally every single page, but she does.

Turano also provides a wonderful cast of characters here. Meemaw - well she just might be my favorite (if ya know, ya know). With a little suspense, lots of laughter, some almost kisses, and some shall we say interesting circumstances, readers won't be able to put Meeting Her Match down for even a second! Highly recommend.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From the lap of luxury in New York to the countryside of West Virginia, Camilla Pierpont, matchmaker extraordinaire is comfortable wherever she goes. The crazy way in which Camilla and Owen Chesterfield meet, along with its misunderstanding, will have you laughing from the very beginning of the story. But the smiles and giggles doesn’t stop there!

Jen Turano is an author whose books I can easily recommend to readers from teens through adults. It has love, adventure, mystery, surprises, and lots of fun. This is the third book in The Matchmaker series. While it can be read as a standalone, you’ll enjoy the stories of the other love matches that Camilla has helped make happen.

Things to look forward to reading:
Owen’s family
Esmeralda the pig
Fashion
Humor
West Virginia sayings
Chickens and whitewashing fences
Apple pie recipe
Annoyance to love
Multiple love matches

I voluntarily reviewed this complimentary copy of the book from the publisher, NetGalley, and AustenProse. All views are my opinion in which I was not required to write a review.

“It’s West Virginia. We tend to do things a little differently here…”

Before I talk about the fun of ‘New York meets West Virginia’ in Meeting Her Match, I have to talk about ‘Camilla meets Owen’. Their meet-cute could only be classified as disastrous – she mistakenly thinks he’s trying to abduct her and holds him at derringer-point; he unintentionally offends her by calling her ‘little lady’ (he thinks it’s a compliment), comparing her to his dead dog (which he also intends as a compliment), and abandoning her to a pack of angry raccoons (you’re just gonna have to read that for yourself). But disastrous for them also means it is highly entertaining for us, and it’s just the beginning of our falling in love with these two characters together. I’ve been eager to see who Camilla’s match would be, and how it would come about, and I could not have picked a more perfect hero for her than Owen. He is such a bighearted guy and, even if his good intentions often go awry and make him a bit clunky with relationships, his cluelessness is so endearing that it just ends up adding to his overall appeal like only Jen Turano can do. I loved these two as individuals and together, and their whole relationship made me smile big.

“I’m not sure, even if you were dressed in the first state of gentlemanly fashion, that a man like you could ever look like a dandy. You’re a little on the … large size.”

“Dandies aren’t large?”

“Not the most successful ones.”

Something else that made me smile big is the eclectic merging of a New York Four Hundred heiress and her entourage and bodyguards with a well-to-do (or ne’er-do-well, depending on who you ask) West Virginia family. The perhaps-unlikely friendship between these two worlds feels less unlikely for every minute they spend together until pretty soon you don’t remember why you thought it wouldn’t work out well. Because it ends up being everything delightful and hilarious and just pure joy to picture in your mind as you read. Meemaw, Nems, Aunt Elma, and Louella are down to earth and sweet as … well… apple pie (you’ll see) even if they do have a few sneaky matchmaking tricks of their own, and Lottie, Bernadette, Charles, and Leopold quickly fit right in… to the tune of “Love Is In the Air”. Even the pets find that clashing cultures can lead to some beautiful (if unconventional) friendships.

Bottom Line: In the current state of things in our world today, if a little laughter is a refreshing embrace for the soul, then Jen Turano’s Meeting Her Match is a refreshing bear hug for it. I giggled from beginning to end, as is my habit when reading a book by this author, and while I always love the supporting characters Turano employs to exacerbate the hilarity that the main characters experience, this combination of personalities is my favorite yet. Amid attempted abductions, ‘whitewarshing’ fences, etiquette lessons, angry raccoons and renegade pigs and ornery roosters, Camilla and Owen are a match made in ‘almost heaven’. Another fantastic and funny Gilded Age romantic farce from Jen Turano!

Meeting her Match is the third and last book in the Matchmakers Series, and it’s about Miss Camilla Pierpont, who is well know for her matchmaking, but has vowed to never marry after a devastating heartbreak. Owen Chesterfield is wealthy and brilliant in business but lacks finesse when it comes to ladies. Yet for his family’s sake he’s determined to get Camilla to agree to help his sister wrangle her wild ways and be presented to society. Knowing her life is in danger, Camilla agrees to Owen’s proposition and travels with him to West Virginia, finding herself charmed by the less-than-formal attitude of his small hometown, as well as by Owen himself. As danger lurks in the shadows, and with the help of some well meaning meddling older ones, could Camilla just make a spectacular match-her own?

I loved that this book took us out of the usual society settings of the 400 like New York and into wild new territory! Fun fact this summer I went on a road trip with my family and we drove thru Wheeling! I hadn’t been to West Virginia in nearly 20 years! Owen’s family is so much fun! It was refreshingly funny. I loved getting to see Camilla in a different light, she is a lady through and through but tough too. This story keeps the pages turning with engaging dialogue, that will have you laughing till your sides hurt, wonderful characters you fall in love with, unexpected twists, disastrous meet-cutes and happenings.

So if you enjoy:

🍎 Hilarious witty banter
🥧 Forced proximity
🍎 Meddling Meemaw 😉
🥧 A bit of suspense
🍎 Did I mention Apple Pie?
🥧 Match Making
🍎 Disasterous Meet cute

Then I recommend this entire series to pick up for swoony sighs, inspiring feel good vibes, and an enjoyable escape into a wonderful world that Jen creates. Each book can be read as a standalone and you won’t feel lost.

Thank you @bethanyhousefiction @jenturanoauthor and @austenprose for sending me a gifted copy of the book. All thoughts are mine.

What a fun series this has been and what a way to wrap it up. If you haven’t read the first 2 books, A Match in the Making and To Spark a Match, you’ll want to do so as we meet some of the same people in each of them.

Can a member of the New York 400 and a country gent from West Virginia come to any understanding? Camilla is a stubborn “I can do it myself” type woman, and Owen wants to protect her, while she helps his sister.

A sweet historical romance, yes, but you will laugh your way through it. In true Turano style we have a pig, a cat, and some dogs adding to the mayhem of misunderstandings. And so many unexpected matches. I highly recommend Meeting Her Match!

#BookRevew : MEETING HER MATCH by Jen Turano

I always enjoyed Jen Turano’s books and this one didn’t disappoint. Meeting Her Match is a delightful historical romance that whisks you away to 1889 New York and West Virginia. I've been anticipating to delve into Camilla's story. As a masterful matchmaker, I couldn't help but wonder how her own love life would unfold. In previous books, she always maintained a cool composure. But with Owen, her true self begins to emerge.

Owen and Camilla's first encounter was undeniably unique. Raccoons and a plunge into the Hudson River made it an unforgettable event. I didn’t think that Camilla to help Owen but due to the unexpected turn of events, she had to flee New York. The story unfolds at a satisfying pace, peppered with delightful quirks. The cast of secondary characters is vibrant, but their sheer number could be overwhelming at times. Thankfully, some, like Meemaw and Aunt Elma, have well-developed personalities, adding to the book's charm.

Owen and Camilla's romance blossomed gradually. Camilla's endearing spirit shone through her determination, while Owen's softer side and devotion to his family emerged as they spent more time together. Their witty banter added a spark to their connection. The danger lurking in Camilla's life only heightened the story's intrigue. I highly suggest this book and the whole series if you enjoy historical romcoms.

Hilarious fun! I loved this darling third book in Jen Turano’s Matchmakers series. In Meeting Her Match, we get Camilla Pierpont the matchmaker’s story. It’s a funny, opposites attract, delightful Gilded Age romcom that had me laughing out loud.

Camilla’s a wealthy heiress & one of New York’s prestigious 400. Vowing never to marry after an English lord broke her heart, Camilla’s devoted herself to making successful matches for others. When she’s nearly abducted on horseback by the Hudson River, she’s rescued by a handsome but annoying gentleman who definitely rubs her the wrong way.

Owen Chesterfield’s a wealthy businessman who’s traveled from his small town in West Virginia to seek the matchmaker’s help with his younger sister. He’s learned of her success in helping difficult cases & wants to obtain her services to rehabilitate his sister’s social standing. What ensues is an outrageous adventure to Wheeling, West Virginia where the residents had me in stitches with their charming, quirky personalities.

From their disastrously funny meet cute, to Meemaw, to apple pie recipes & Camilla doing chores, this book was a sweet treat I definitely needed. I loved the romance between Owen & Camilla. She’s the refined lady & he’s the somewhat backwards, blunt Appalachian hero she didn’t realize she needed. I loved not only their relationship, but Camilla’s friendship with Luella who seems like a lost cause (think Annie Oakley vibes). I also loved Meemaw, her sister, & all the delightful residents of Wheeling.

Along with Camilla & Owen, there are several other side romances that were the icing on the cake, as well as a bit of mystery & danger. Someone’s out to get Camilla & that threat is an underlying thread throughout the story. The exciting ending had me laughing out loud as everything comes to a head.

Highly recommend this funny, sweet, not to miss historical romance! Though part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.
