This one just kind of missed the mark for me. It kind of dragged and I found myself less interested as I listened—just kind of a struggle to get to the end. Although the end was amazing. The narrators did a great job though. Huge thanks to dreamscape and netgalley for allowing me to listen and review this book.

I love how consistent this series has been so far. This one pulled at my heartstrings more than the previous ones. And the cliffhanger was a beast. I’m looking forward to the next book!

If I had to choose one word to describe this book it might be one of these: Captivating, heart wrenching, beautiful, exquisite, harrowing, glorious, remarkable, magnificent, horrifying, transcendent, powerful, completely-wrecked-me.
Highly recommend and can’t wait for the next one!

I really enjoyed this book! There was some added POVs that I could have lived without. I understand the add to the story but I did not really care about the queen, Asinia, or Madinia. I wanted to know more about Lorian and Prisca.

The audio was really great! I thought the additions of the POV was done really well. However, additional narrators would have been interesting.

OMG the cliffhanger at the end! We knew it was coming because the prophesy and foreshadowing was there. But it still made me very emotional which is incredible.

I can't wait for the next book so we can figure out what happens next!

When I got this book, I started it and realized I was missing a lot of context. So I google the book and realized it was nook 3 in a series. So I went to the libby app and got books 1&2. HOLY MOLY. WHAT A WORLD. I was so sucked in. I al completely obsessed with this whole universe. AND THAT ENDING. I was not emotionally prepared.

I obtained access to this book courtesy of NetGalley, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. Firstly, I'd like to extend my appreciation to the author for incorporating multiple POVs, which I thoroughly enjoy in novels. The audiobook narration was impeccably executed. Nevertheless, I can't help but wonder about the choice of ending for the book. The ending had my heart beating out of my chest!

OMG! I need to convince all my friends to read this series immediately. If you are reading this review, I hope I can convince you too. This series reminds me so much of Throne of Glass, but I like it better than Throne of Glass. Prisca and Lorian are so much more likeable then Aelin and Rowan (at least for me).

A Crown This Cold and Heavy provides new POVs and character development that move the overarching plot in such a satisfying direction. I was on the edge of my seat for much of the book, dying to know what was going to happen next. There is a good mix of triumph and desperation, action and foreshadowing, and spice in an established relationship and the slow burn tension of a potential new one.

I highly recommend this book and this entire series.

Ahh I loved every moment of this book! I am fully invested in this story and Stacia has yet to let me down. The prophecy was such a wonderful stressor to add in and added a perfect undercurrent of tension!

This instalment of The Kingdom of Lies series lived up to the other too. This series continues to be heart pounding. I was gripping the sage of my seat throughout. While listening to the audiobook, I often found myself pausing what I was doing because I was just so captivated. The politics are complex and you have no idea who to trust. The found family just keeps growing and each character is incredible. The development of each of the side characters continues to unfold and as you learn more, you can’t help but love each of them more. There are even more POVs in this story and the narrators did a great job keeping up with them and making us feel like the reader is right there with the characters. The pacing is fantastic and so is the plot. There is heartbreak, but there is also love. The connection between Lorien and Priska is beautiful. There is only one thing that bothered me and it is that the smut scenes started to feel a bit copy/paste from earlier in the story; not the entire scenes, but snippets. However, the amount of sex in the book will please many romantasy lovers out there. A warning to anyone thinking about picking up this book… the multiple cliff-hangers!!! And yes, there are multiple, which stem from the fact that the story is told from multiple POVs and there are not all in the space experiencing the same things. I cannot wait for book 4! As for my rating, I was teetering between a 4 and 5. The repetition in the sex scenes was knocking it down, but then the last few segments of the book were so gripping and I really like that (yes, even the cliff-hangers). So, I think that it’s worth rounding this up.
I highly recommend this series. There is so much to love in it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a review copy of the audiobook. All of the opinions expressed are honest and my own.

Okay the cliffhangers are KILLING ME!!! I'm not sure why I thought this would be the last one and by the midway point I realized it probably wouldn't be just based off the plot but now I need the next one ASAP! I felt like it was a little slow going for me until about halfway in. I'm not sure if that's due to there being more of a focus on the politics in the story or the frequent shifting points of view. The main characters are all separated for a while, which makes the multiple POV necessary and helpful but I definitely prefer more of a Prisca/Lorian focus, although I did like the parts in Madinia's POV and I'm glad she's become a very central character. Her character development has been one of my favorites and I'm happy to see that she is part of the protective and caring found family. This book also shows us a fiercer side of Prisca, one who has been through serious trials of pain and loss and come out stronger, becoming more and more the queen she was born to be.

I really appreciate the strategy and politics that have gone into this part of the story because it furthers the plot and shows how each character is more than just their physical strength and magic. They have to be highly intelligent and cunning to outsmart a king who has been around and in power for a very long time with well thought out plans of his own. I found myself consistently waiting for a betrayal or for things to go wrong with how much was unpredictable. Though the level of politics makes this book feel more like a setup for the next book, it was still a lot of fun and there was plenty of action to be found. I can't wait to see what happens in the next one.

Lorian and Prisca kind of gave me old married couple vibes by this third book honestly😂 And I'm definitely here for it! They're still obviously smitten with each other and have lots of chemistry and *ahem* hots for each other but just the way they fight feels like they've been together forever. And I will never not love when Lorian calls her Wildcat. The development of deeper bonds among Prisca's friends and family was an added bonus and big part of the story, especially as we get a peak inside many of their heads with the shifting points of view. While it felt a lot like a plot driven installment, there's still plenty of character development and I'm definitely more attached to all of the characters now and hope everyone gets a happy ending!

The narrators Tim Paige and Meg Sylvan do a fantastic job throughout the audio no matter whose POV we are in. Their voices are clear and just flow with the story. I definitely recommend listening to this one if you're able to or even listening and following along with the book if you can!

Thank you Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

WOW! I was not expecting that cliffhanger ending. I went into A Crown This Cold and Heavy thinking that this was the last in the series, but we have at least one more coming!

I was happy to not have to say goodbye to Prisca, Lorian and the crew, but I did feel there was a lot more plot and story set up in this one than action. That said, the ending is action-packed and left me clamoring for book four. I need it!

I love the multiple POVs and Tim Paige and Meg Sylvan did a great job of bringing each POV to life. I think my favourite view was the Queen's. I want so much more of her story - a prequel of how she met the king and her early life would be amazing. The heat between Prisca and Lorian continues and I will take Lorian calling me Wildcat any day of the week.

This series has quickly become a favourite of mine and I recommend it to any romantasy fan!

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Stacia Stark for an early copy. These are my honest thoughts.

This series is quickly becoming a new favorite of mine! All of the many characters are well written and with unique personalities. I love them all! The world building is intriguing and intricate. It has just the right amount of romance/ spice without being too much. This book was just as good as the previous two and had me on an emotional roller coaster. I can’t believe that ending, that was one of the biggest cliffhangers ever! I can’t wait to read the next book and find out what happens! The narrators were great and easy to listen to.

I'm so mad right now. How can you end a book like that. Ugh, I need the next one NOW. This was a great book, and I'm so glad I was able to listen to it. I loved the first and second ones, and this one seems to be even better. The world is seriously so amazing, and so are the characters. If you can't tell, Stacia leaves you on a cliffhanger with this book.
