Everyone knows hunger when they skip a meal! Silly Crocodile missed breakfast and is hungry!
Will he eat the other animals? This book is good for SEL because learning to control anxiety!
Humorous text and drawings!
Funny children’s book about how a crocodile has to skip breakfast and ultimately thinks everything around him is some type of edible food. Good lesson on not skipping breakfast. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!
Vibrant illustrations show crocodile and his day. Crocodile gets up late and skips breakfast, hoping to get some donuts on the way but they are sold out! Unfortunately crocodile, who works as a river ferry for other smaller animals, never get his breakfast and is dangerously daydreaming of having some of his passengers as snacks! Thankfully Hippo has a sprinkled surprise for crocodile.
This poor crocodile, been there done that (didn't have time for breakfast). Love the title, cover and illustrations! Very cute book, made me chuckle. Also made me want a donut. Would recommend this book
This was a fun silly book that also shows the importance of eating breakfast. It lead to a fun discussion with my youngest about why we eat breakfast, what happens when we don't and how we feel. It was funny and made for a great discussion.
This picture book was so fun and playful. The illustrations were happy and cheerful and the story was equally cheerful. I think kids will really enjoy this book. And it has a good moral to it, breakfast really is important! It teaches that in a fun way, which is the best way to learn.
Thank your for the eARC!
a cute little picture book about a crocodile skipping on breakfast one day and getting very hungry and cranky and that it’s important to eat breakfast so we feel better
Thanks NetGalley for the preview!
Such a cute and silly book! The animals were vibrant and the story was adorable!
I found myself laughing out loud. The story is original, yet has a very important message to not skip the most important meal of the day even when running late. One day Croc, was running late and could not eat breakfast at home or was unable to stop at his favorite donut shop. Soon all he can think about is food. Relatable for children and adults. I love the tropical fun colors! Definitely give this book a perfect score in originality, illustrations and the plot.
Thank you NetGalley and Kids Can Press for sending me an ARC in exchange of an honest review of the book received.
I really enjoyed the artwork in this book, but the storyline took a turn I wasn't expecting! This is one of those kids' books that is maybe funnier for adults than it would be for kids. And I say that as someone who skips breakfast frequently as well!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
A bit of a strange storyline… not sure what age this is directed at. I’m a mom of a toddler and I don’t think she would like this. Maybe it’s just not for me.
Cute story. Illustrations are nice and vibrant. No real story line but cute for little kids nonetheless.
A fun story for younger readers. No big themes, just some laughs. The adults in the room laughed out loud once or twice. The art was great. You will be asked for donuts with sprinkles after you read this with your kids.
This was sooooooooooo cute! Crocodile has a very important job as a river ferry but this morning he’s running late he keeps missing the opportunity to grab breakfast. He knows it’s the most important meal of the day but this story tells you exactly why!
The art was so light and fluffy and all of the animals were made so cute!
This is a cute story about a hungry crocodile. The illustrations are fun and vibrant. The audience is preschoolers.
A hungry croc saved by donuts.
Croc can't be late for his job as the river ferry and skips breakfast. Donuts is on the way to Croc's work, but unfortunately, Hippo is all out. Croc begins to visualize donuts as he ferries various animals across the river. Will hippo save the day with donuts?
This a humorous, cute story about a Croc missing breakfast. I love the illustrations. A recommended read.
The concept for this story was cute and my kids enjoyed it. As I was reading it, I felt like some refining would have helped, because it didn't flow super well as a read aloud. But, overall, cute idea for a story.
Eeek! Too cute! This book made me and my daughter giggle. This book is super funny and adorable for story time with the kiddos.
This is an adorable book! I read it to my 4 year old, he thought it was funny and liked the pictures. When we finished reading it, he immediately asked me to read it again. We enjoyed reading this together.
I thought this was a cute book. You find out what happens when Croc doesn't eat his breakfast in the morning before leaving for work. The pictures were well done.
