Reading these books from the Elinor Wonders Why series is now a comfort activity to me. I love how Elinor, Olive, and Ari's curiosity about the world is always encouraged by the adults. I also love how the lesson was woven and depicted well in a way that young children could easily understand.
Butterflies are one of the most interesting creatures to study and learn for men youngest child we also love to watch Eli or wonders why on PBS and she throughly enjoyed it and wanted to keep reading it again again.
We are huge fans of Elinor Wonders Why. We love watching on PBS and I was so excited to learn they had books to match the episodes. We were even more than happy to receive this ARC wonderful story. In this fun adventure Elinor, Olive and Ari realize they have never seen a baby butterfly and wonder why that is. They set out together to discover why. They can’t decide if they wanna watch the butterflies or the caterpillars. We get to follow along on their adventure as they discover the connection between the two and learn answers to their questions. I love that this teaches our little ones science in such a fun and creative way. The book uses wonderful illustrations that are bright and colorful. The book encourages children to follow along and discover things for themselves. I love this as a mom and a teacher. I highly recommend using it in an early childhood classroom. Enjoy the adventure.
Elinor Wonders Why is still our favorite story! I love how these books are educational and fun for may ages. My 3 yo and my 7yo loved reading this book and learning about butterflies.
I really like how the story encourages kids to explore and make observations to learn about their surroundings. It teaches them deductive reasoning skills from a young age and I think that’s important.
This story was so cute seeing them compare human babies to different animal babies, one being butterflies. There illustrations are so cute too. I again asked my daughter what she would rate it and she said definitely 5 stars and I would agree.
My four year old loved following this story and discovering the secret of butterflies. He also loved learning a new word (metamorphosis)
My son and I are huge fans of Elinor Wonders Why on PBS Kids. I love seeing some of the episodes being adapted into picture books. This story follows along with what kids might be familiar with from the show itself, but it serves just as well as a standalone book even if kids aren't familiar with the show. I love that Elinor shows kids how to ask questions and work together with her friends and family to figure out the answers. In this story, Elinor and her friends are wondering why they've never seen baby butterflies when they see all kinds of other baby animals and insects around. Join along on their exploration and a great prompt to get outside and do some research yourself!
What a cute and wonderful way to teach kids about caterpillars turning into butterflies!! I loved how they were exploring and made the discovery on their own. Awesome!!
If butterflies are that cute, imagine how much cuter a baby butterfly would be. Three friends put their interests and skills together to try to find a baby butterfly, which turns out to be a lot harder than they thought. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this cute little picture book with its fun biology lesson
