There are so many LGBTQIA+ trailblazers in this book, it was great to learn more facts and to get to know other people from Queer history too.
Summary: Dive into the vibrant world of LGBTQIA+ activism with Robin Stevenson's "Queer History A to Z," where each letter unlocks a treasure trove of people, events, and places that have shaped queer history in North America. Presented in an A to Z format, this book is not just informative; it's like a rainbow-colored rollercoaster ride through time.
Pros:
🌟 Five stars for this wonderful and inclusive masterpiece! "Queer History A to Z" is like a pride parade in book form – colorful, lively, and full of heart.
😍 The alphabet format is a stroke of genius, making the learning experience as delightful as discovering the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
🏳️🌈 Stevenson beautifully weaves in important LGBTQIA+ historical figures, turning what could be a history lesson into a celebration of resilience, activism, and identity.
🎨 The lovely art by Vivian Rosas adds the perfect visual flair, capturing the essence of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement with each stroke.
Cons:
🤷♂️ There's really no downside to this alphabet extravaganza. Unless you're allergic to rainbows, in which case, proceed with caution.
📚 In conclusion, "Queer History A to Z" is a wonderful and inclusive journey that not only educates but celebrates the richness of LGBTQIA+ history. Robin Stevenson, Vivian Rosas, you've created a masterpiece that's more fabulous than a glitter bomb at a pride festival. Bravo! 🏳️🌈📚

Given what this book is, I'm not at all surprised but am still thrilled to say I just loved how inclusive this book was!! It champions queer people of colour, included disabled people and a variety of skin colours in the illustrations and it just all round made the book that much more special.
It's great that we get to have books like this now.
A great book that takes the reader through the alphabet, each letter representing something from queer history. I like that this paid tribute to a lot of the history that paved the way for modern day movements. This is definitely for older readers in terms of difficulty or it could be read aloud to younger kids. Loved it though!!
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
