A lovely read, all about being different not fitting in and why this is no bad thing. A great book for the classroom to spark discussion sbout differences such as race, disability, neurodiversity and so much more.

This cleverly done book, imho, doesn't just apply to race but to anyone ever judged or bullied for being different in terms of skin colour, religion, size, etc.

I think adults need to read this as much as kids

This is a social emotional learning books. Showing that we may not notice all the things that make us Different. That accepting ourselves helps us understand others who are different and find acceptance.

Those is such a sweet book! I love how it’s mostly pictures, so parents or teachers can talk about the pictures and what the child thinks is happening. This book has such an important message and it’s told in such a simple impactful way. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review..

This was such a wholesome read. So exciting to see books like this that explore identity and embrace difference in a meaningful and accessible manner. I loved the last line, "We've always been this, you've just learnt to see."

I love this book for its simplistic visualization that diversity is an amazing thing and should not be feared. This is a great book to bring up ideas of diversity and accepting others for who they are.

What a unique story and the way the pages are set up as well. Storyline was great as well. Perfect for children and helping them navigate this thing we call life.

Of course, the message is beautiful: being different is all right. Purple is excluded in the beginning and the others learn to accept that it's okay to be a different color. The story is told in verse, and the words get kind of big, so this is better as a readaloud or readlong book.
