(Kendra Michaels #11)- Once again the Johansens have a hit. I can’t wait until a new Kendra Michael’s book comes out. They are highly suspense and keep you on the edge of your seat. This newest one didn’t miss the mark. The Johansens have created some amazingly strong characters that leap off the page. Kendra, who was blind until she was twenty, has remarkable powers of observation that help with solving crimes. Luke, her lover and protector leaps in on each of her cases to keep her safe and then we have Olivia her best friends since childhood. Olivia is still blind but does unbelievably well for herself in a sighted world. The more books the more these characters develop and grow on you. Kendra has been asked by a friend if she would investigate a missing person case, two sisters and a cold case murder, their mother. to see if she can find anything that will help in both cases. Just when she starts to look at the evidence, she is attacked in one of the sister’s condos and is almost killed. This leads to a chain of events that starts up the Baystate Strangler once again. Will Kendra and Luke find the missing sisters and solve the murder of their mom. Read and find out. I highly recommend this series and book. Thank you to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Kendra Michaels latest case comes in the form of a favor to investigate a cold case to help solve a current disappearance. While this is a new avenue for Kendra, she is drawn in almost immediately. Unfortunately for her, the killer is pulled back in. This chain of events kicks off a very action packed and suspenseful story. In previous books, Kendra was defined by her heightened abilities which she developed while blind. She is feisty, resourceful, and tenacious. This story further builds on Kendra’s strength of character and willingness to go all in on a case that may be tough to solve and dangerous. Enter our white(ish) knight, Lynch, who has helped Kendra and stolen her heart in previous books. They are an amazing couple, but they are both alphas, so we get plenty of relationship drama as they feel their way to working together in this case.
After multiple attempts on Kendra’s life, some wild rock climbing and more victims, the case takes a massive twist I did not see coming. What makes this twist more riveting is that we know who the killer in from the beginning, but we don’t know who he really is and that is the twist. While you are adjusting to twist one, we get another one and the story gets even more action packed and unique.
The mystery is only half the tale, we have a host of amazing characters. The most well-developed character outside our romantic leads is Olivia. She is the kind of BFF we all need, caring and compassionate and not afraid to stick her nose in. The fact that she does all that without letting her blindness slow her down makes her more amazing, so amazing that she provides a major clue that moves the story forward. At the end, there is a hint she may finally get to join Kendra as one who found a miracle. Fingers crossed that we will learn her fate in the next book. We also need to see more of Harley as he and the seals was adorable, and the dog also is once again a hero.
This is a great series that allows mother and son to combine their talents for keep readers coming back for more. I hope we get another dose or ten of this incredible cast of characters.

Kendra Michaels is back in Flashback. She’s been called to look at evidence surrounding the disappearance of two sisters. The mother of the two women was murdered 15 years ago and during that time the sisters have worked the case themselves gathering information, crime scene photos and conducting countless hours of interviews. Have they gotten too close?
The case was previously closed as the murders stopped but there was never an arrest.
The killer may be back and they could be his next victims.
Kendra is on his radar as well. He’s not going to let anyone stop him, the stakes are high.
This is riveting and suspenseful you’ll definitely want to read this.

Kendra Michaels uses her heightened powers of deduction to draw out a serial killer who has not been seen or heard from in over fifteen years.
Chloe and Sloane Morgan were only children when their mother was the second victim of the Bayside Strangler. Now, after spending fifteen years trying to discover his identity, the sisters have suddenly vanished. Were they getting too close to the truth? The police consider their interest in the crime to be just a coincidence and have little motivation to pursue the cold case! Good book! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action packed, murder, mystery, serial killer, a bit of a who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
