This book has such good atmosphere and it truly is a haunting read. I enjoyed this so much. I would love to see this play out as a movie.

This book was tense as Whitt is trying to regain his memories while out at sea. It started off with a little mystery that just continued to build. As they ventured further, I was trying to read faster to learn what was going to happen next as quickly as possible. I was sucked in as Whitt and the other sailors all spiraled in their search for answers.

Atmospheric, haunting, dark and original. If you are not already intimidated by the sea before reading this book- you will be. There is more to be afraid of than the ocean itself. Exceedingly descriptive and imaginative. You feel feel like you are on the boat with the crew. This would make a great movie.
Thank you Wicked House Publishing, Blaine Daigle and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy.

First off, thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This is the first book I’ve read in a long while that actually gave me chills. Thalassophobia: triggered. The visualizations I got from the underwater descriptions made me shiver.

Whitt Rogers dreams when he sleeps. It doesn’t sound unusual but his dreams aren’t normal. He boards a crab ship in search of relief and weird things happen very quickly.

This book was so descriptive and well-written. I was able to feel like I was on the ship with the crew. I’d definitely read another book from this author.

Thank you to Netgalley,Blaine Dangle and Wicked House publishing for the arc of A Dark and Endless Sea

There is something absolutely nightmarish at the thought of being out to sea. No where to run, no where to hide from those voices, the haunting songs of the sea. Blaine paints a wonderfully claustrophobic atmosphere where Whitt Rogers boards a boat to fish for crabs after suffering from nightmares of an underwater town and a lighthouse. It becomes very apparent that all is not as it seems on this boat, something is amiss with the Captain and what is that green glowing light all about?

I loved how this book played out, from beginning to end. How it ties up and wraps around itself, squeezing you tighter into the story. The characters were well fleshed out and all had different voices, even though they were suffering from the same affliction.

A great oceanic horror, 4 stars

This book is a must-read for fans of dark, atmospheric, suspenseful tales. It's a haunting journey that will leave you with lingering nightmares (the crabs!) If you don't already have a deep appreciation for this author's ability to craft a memorable narrative, this Lovecraftian fever dream of a story will do it.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

I thought the idea of this book was really interesting! The horror aspects of this book were really good, I just think the story itself was a little underwhelming. I feel like for a good chunk of the story we just kept going in circles without making any real progress. Towards the end of the book things picked up and we finally started getting somewhere. All in all I feel like if some of the middle was taken out and went into explaining and wrapping up the end a little more it would’ve helped the story a lot!

This book was creepy for me because I'm not a huge fan of boats and water, and the author's depiction of a tense atmosphere really added to the horror of the story. I loved the writing and looking forward to the author's other work.

Thank you @netgalley for the ARC of A Dark and Endless Sea by Blaine Daigle. This is the second book I’ve read by him and it was equally as good as the first. This was creepy and edgy. I find boats and the sea to be scary in itself and the horrors in the book added to it. I can’t wait to read the next book by Daigle

This novel was one of my NetGalley reads. This novel uses the vast and endless sea in such a way that can cause you to be scared of the sea and scared for Whitt and his shipmates. The author conveys the insanity of the crew mates on the ship as they too deal with nightmares and memory lapses like our main character, Whitt. If you're into ocean based horror, this book is for you

Blaine Daigle has become one of my favorite horror writers, up there with Stephen King and Ronald Malfi. This latest novel is no exception. The premise is unique, the writing is impeccable. The tense atmosphere that Daigle has created made this book truly terrifying, and I doubt I’ll look at the ocean the same. Every book I’ve read by this author brought something different to the horror genre, and I’ve read thousands of horror books. As always, I’ll happily recommend on publication day. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read!

A Dark and Endless Sea by Blaine Daigle was a harsh slap to my face. After a series of books failed to catch my attention - I did try. I read each for about an hour - this book captured me from the first sentence. It had everything going that checked my boxes. I would describe it as Nautical Horror but that doesn't do it justice. For once I was also not trying to solve the mystery and have all the answers. I settled in and read it front to back in one go. The spookiness turning into chaos turning into madness was so damn rewarding. My wife is not a reader but I couldn't help but tell her all about the book when I finished which is something I rarely do. A story meant to be shared. A 10/10 for sure.

The writing? Phenomenal
The story? Wicked good
Your TBR? This should absolutely be on it.
Such a breathtaking story and I feel like I went a little mad myself out there on the open sea.

Blaine Daigle has become a force to be reckoned with. I have read his three books (The Broken Places, A Dark Roux and now A Dark and Endless Sea and he has transported me to some dark, eerie, and scary places which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Whitt Rogers has horrific dreams. When he wakes, he has no memories and no idea who he is, except for the name he keeps rewriting on his hand. His wandering brings him to a crab fishing ship heading to the Bering Sea. As he becomes a member of the crew, he learns he is not the only one having horrible, horrible dreams...

WOWZA! This book was atmospheric, dark, chilling, creepy, tense, and full of danger. I loved the vivid descriptions, the eerie damp vibe of the book, and the pulse pounding scenes. What is going onboard the ship? What is going on in the water? What indeed!!!! I think it is pretty safe to say, I won’t be going on any crab fishing or any fishing ships in the near future (lets me real, that was never going to happen but still)!

If you enjoy books in the horror genre and have not read a book by Blaine Daigle before, what are you waiting for? His books are original, well thought out, well written, full of vivid descriptions, great dialogue, and imagery. I felt as if I was a silent observer on the ship, stepping over the crabs, and covering my ears the entire time!

Atmospheric, tense, eerie and hard to put down!

Thank you to Wicked House Publishing and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Intriguing story that I definitely didn't see coming. Whitt had bad dreams and lost his memories. But are they dreams and are the memories worth remembering. Definitely enjoyed this read!! Solid 4 star

This is cosmic horror at its best. It has everything that a horror nerd might seek — the sea, the dreams and premonitions. The atmosphere is top-notch. Loved the way it was written. Have become a big fan of Blain Daigle's writing.

What a creepy and atmospheric book!
Dark, claustrophobic, filled with horror and so well-written, this one will haunt me in my dreams (Pun intended? Or pun not intended?) now for quite some time.

4.5/5 A Dark And Endless Sea

Whitt has no memory of who he is, his past is a void and he can barely hang on to the present. All that Whitt knows is that when he sleeps the nightmares wait for him. He dreams of a town underwater, lifeless floating people, and an eerie lighthouse that seems to call out to him like whale song.

After receiving an anonymous note Whitt joins a crew of crabbers on the ship Sonia. The crew, like Whitt, are plagued by nightmares and the Captain seems to be on a mission all his own. Are these dreams a shared madness by a crew too long at sea or are they collectively haunted by a supernatural force swimming in the depths of the sea and their minds.

A Dark And Endless Sea began slowly but when it picked up the pace the mystery of Whitt, the crew, and the Captain took a nosedive into pure horror. I appreciated the references to classic literature and poetry - Shakespeare, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, a brief nod to Moby Dick - all playing into the novel. The Rime was used frequently and the imagery played well into the horror of this piece.

This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to its physical release date on June 7th. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher Wicked House Publishing, and the author Blaine Daigle for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel.

Horror at sea--a unique fresh story compared to everything else coming out on the shelves. And, oh, this tale was chilling. Spooky. The setting, description, the atmosphere was captivating. The characters were the weak point. They didn't seem real; cliche clones which really brought down the story's quality.
