I Let Her In started off a little slow for me and the characters, especially Cassie, somewhat annoying but other than that the book was a good read.. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I Let Her in started slow with a bit of an eerie feel. Cassie had been seeing and hearing things outside her home and was feeling a bit paranoid and scared despite her Husbands attempts to dismiss it and make her feel like she's going crazy.
Fast forward, new home and a fresh start for Cassie, Jon and their son Teddy, but why does Cassie still feel like someone is hanging around? And why is Jon so reluctant about moving back to his home town?
As Cassie gets to know her and Teddy's new home (which also where Jon grew up), some secrets about her Husbands past get uncovered and things get messy.
The first half of this book was slow but by about 60% in I was on the edge of my seat and hungry for more.
An enjoyable read!
absolutely spectacular thriller arc with some super fun ideas. thanks so much for it, SO fun, SO recommended, READ IT. thanks for the arc.
A quick easy read that didn’t need me to be concentrating very hard to see what was coming. None in the book really won me over and so not a book I would really recommend other than for a light read.
I Let Her In follows Cassie and her husband Jon return to his childhood home after the death of his mother. Cassie hopes to find both solace and a fresh start. But not everything is as it seems, and she has a journey finding the truth lurking behind the shadows of her life.
This thriller is told by different points of views, and I felt hooked me since the very start. The characters are well written, and the plot is quite interesting. This is a suspenseful thriller full of twists and turns that will not allow you to see the end coming. I felt like I was being pull down a rabbit hole without predict the ending.
I really enjoyed this story; it has the right pace and has so many secrets and suspense. The storyline was well developed, and I was so engaging in the story that I could not stop until the end.
Thank you, Bookouture & NetGalley, for approving me to read this arc and write this review.
Usually fly through books by Maria but this one I struggled with, it was a bit predictable and I just didn't like the characters. Worth a read to waste some time but not one of my favourites
I Let Her In was an OK read. I didn;t really connect with the characters and found the twists to be a little on the predictable side. I did enjoy it but not as much as I had expected after reading the description.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.
A dark secret is revealed revolving around characters that seem untrustworthy. The protagonist & myself were wondering who was lying & who was the one to be afraid of.
With several layers & twists in this psychological thriller, I finished it in one day.
Thank you, Maria Frankland, bookouture, & netgalley for my copy. All opinions are my own.
I listened to this book as an audiobook, but immediately finished it and started reading it again! Hooks you from the beginning, keeps you guessing and gives me Lisa Jewell vibes! Definitely recommend!
This is the second Maria Frankland book that I have been approved for and it didn’t disappoint.
Cassie and her husband Jon return to live in his childhood home after the death of his mother. A place Jon hasn’t returned to in many years, but a place that Cassie hopes to find solace and a fresh start. At their last home, she always felt like someone was watching even though Jon told her it was just her imagination.
Cassie meets a friendly face in Amy the first time she takes Teddy to the playground behind their new home. Before long, Cassie has employed Amy to walk their dog and effectively allowed her access to their home. There’s more to Amy than meets the eye…
I really enjoyed this novel and can’t wait to read Maria Frankland’s next book. I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a page-turner.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #ILetHerIn
I hated one character from the start, without real reasons, just my instincts and how they acted haha.. Overall, I really enjoyed the read. I felt all sorts of emotions for the different characters and their actions, except for that one character.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for access to this arc in exchange for my honest review.
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I liked this book but it did seem too long and dragged at points. It was easy to figure out where the story was going and it actually felt like it was done before. Family moves back to husband's hometown and secrets are revealed. Jon was very controlling over his wife even so far as telling her what to wear and a few times calling her stupid and she just took it from him. It was a good read and I would recommend it and try another one by this author.
I had more expectations from the cover and blurb
The book doesn't have a peak point or an escalation😕
While reading suspense thrillers or murder mysteries there would be a point where you should be like unhinged, shocked or thrilled to read further but when the revelation happened I was "meh" I expected it 😭 So yeah this book is not for me 😔 The description felt repetitive and it bored me to read the same thing again and again 🥴 I was expecting soo much from the book cover and description but may be I shouldn't be expecting so much.
I didn't see any character development and by the epilogue it is almost certain that we are going to have a sequel for it 😁

Overall the book is not for me 😔 I don't hate it but I don't like it either

Book: I let her in by Maria Frankland
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
I wasn’t keen on this book and saw the twists coming a mile off. I still enjoyed the writing so will definitely read more from Maria.
I Let Her In follows Cassie through a move to a new home, with her husband and son. Unfortunately not everything is as it seems, and she has a rough journey finding out the truth lurking behind the shadows of her new life.
This dual POV thriller caught me from the very beginning, and held my attention straight to the end. I found all the characters to be well-written, and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen next. Around the middle of the book I thought I had it all figured out, but was shocked with the twist at the end. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book, and would happily look for more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and Maria Frankland.
This novel was a ride and it kept me guessing until the very end.
What lies can do to a family and your life.
Lies affect the future of numerous people but in the end it always comes back to haunt you.
Gripping, fast-paced.
Recommend 4 stars.
This is a book that kept me hooked from the very beginning! I was pulled in and completely unwilling to put this book down which resulted in me devouring this book in just one sitting.
This has been addictive and completely unpredictable. I have adored this book from beginning to end. Everything about this has left me wanting more.
There are so many twists in this that you don’t see coming. I feel as though Frankland has pulled me down a rabbit hole and kept me completely hooked. I’ve had moments where I’ve gasped and been in complete shock.
Cassie and Jon are great characters, you can’t help but feel they are that familiar couple next door. Amy I have been a little more unsure of.
This is a perfectly paced read with twists and turns in all the right places. This is a brilliant book from beginning to end. I definitely was torn between wanting to devour each page quickly and wanting to savour every last moment.
I loved the multi perspective as it really allows you to get to know each of the characters and their individual personalities.
I have no hesitation recommending this book to other lovers of the genre. A great read from beginning to end.

I had a page turning time reading I let Her In by Maria Frankland. It’s told from 4 different perspectives: 1. Cassie 2. Amy 3. Becca and 4. Amelia
Cassie is married to Jon and they’ve just moved to his childhood home with their 4 year old Teddy and their dog Suki.
Cassie hopes that their new beginning will fill her with friendships and a social life away from being the wife and mother only. It’s clear that there’s something her husband hasn’t told her and it reaches beyond his controlling ideas and behaviour. Something she can’t put her finger on.
Amy appears in her life as a godsend, Becca is inexplicably frosty towards her and Amelia could be set to uncover long buried skeletons.
Can we trust new friends more than the people we know?
A recommended read.
It’s described as a domestic thriller and it definitely follows through on that. It grabs you from the beginning. It’s full of secrets and suspense. Told from different points of view which is always a plus as you get a feel for the different characters. Well developed storyline and mostly likeable characters but some not so much. The narrator does a great job at keeping you engaged. It’s an easy but quick listen as it moves at a steady pace and it’s one I kept looking forward to picking up. Would recommend…
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #ILetHerIn
Just when you think every twist has come to light, there are more lying in the shadows. Each character's part in the story came together to form a mountain of deceit and led to an intense fight for the truth. The suspense that kept ramping up to the ending had my heart racing and made me rethink everything I thought they were capable of. Maria Frankland wrote a phenomenal thriller and I can only hope that this will be picked up and turned into a film. I believe that March is the month of thrillers and this one is definitely up there fighting for the top spot.
