Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the chance to read this book. What a roller coaster ride this book is. It hooks you right from the start and doesn't let go until the very end. It starts with a death at a party. Then 10 years later the story picks up when Cassie & Jon move into Jon's childhood home. The next-door neighbor Becca doesn't seem very friendly, and Jon pretends he doesn't know her. Cassie meets Amy in the park, and they become fast friends. But something seems off to Cassie and Jon seems to dislike Amy from the start. When Cassie discovers that Amy is just out of prison for a murder that occurred at her house, she questions Jon, but he refuses to discuss the matter with her. Amy contends she was in prison for a crime she didn't commit and soon everyone seems to be suspicious. Amy wants to tell Cassie her story, but Jon won't let her back into the house, so she does something desperate, and the story take a big turn. There are many twists along the way and it's hard to know who is telling the truth. It's a nail-biting who done it thriller and I'd gladly recommend it.
This is my first book by this author so I didn't know what to expect. It is very entertaining and I would read more by this author. You will be surprised by the ending.
Read all of Maria’s books and loved them think they just keep getting better! Brilliantly plotted, with a crisp pace and constant surprises. Lures you in until you can’t escape. Nothing and no one is quite what they seem.
Wow! This was so good. I couldn’t put it down and finished in one sitting. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 19th March. This book is full of secrets and lies a perfect domestic thriller. This book gripped me from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down and kept me on the edge of my seat! It has many twists and turns that were highly addictive I was dying to know what would happen.
One the characters who I didn’t particularly like was Amy I found her very strange and weird but I did like the character of Cassie.
Overall, a rollercoaster of a book that takes you on a ride you won’t want to forget! I’d highly recommend this book if you don’t read it you’re missing out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.
This definitely was a page turning, thrilling story that had me hooked from the very beginning and had me holding my breath many times.
Cassie is in need of a new start, so when the opportunity to move to her husband's childhood home in Cherry Tree Lane arose, it was just perfect. But the more time they spend there, the more things don't go as she expected as secrets start coming out and her life starts unraveling.
The story follows different POVs and it was so interesting to see the pieces come together this way. I found each of the women the story focuses on to be very fascinating in their own way; I think the characters were beautifully flashed out, which allowed them to grow on me and made it that much easier to care for them as it went on.
The story was filled of twists and turns, some of which might have been a bit predictable, but still great: I love when a thriller/mystery manages to still keep your attention no matter how much of it you could already figure out. I did think I had the ending sorted out, and then was completely surprised at how had I not seen it coming, which I greatly enjoyed.
Overall, it is a very entertaining book with solid characters and a great story, which unravels at a perfect pace, in a very interesting way. It keeps you engaged all the way through and it all wraps up very nicely.
Thank you to Bookouture & Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!
Cassie and Jon move to Cherry Tree Lane with their son Teddy.
Cassie is a nervous wreck, because she felt as though she was constantly watched in their old house, and Jon told her it was her imagination.
Now it has started again.
I Love Maria Frankland books. This one was good, but fell a little short for me.
I didn't feel the suspense or the anxiety that Cassie had to have been feeling.
I didn't like many of the characters either. Cassie was too guilty for having a nice home and a great lifestyle. Becca was a terrible person altogether.
Amy, understandably, was bitter and wanted the truth to come out, but I feel she targetted the wrong person.
Jon. Well, he was just awful.
I am sure that there are readers that will devour this book and enjoy it thoroughly, but I expected more from this fantastic author.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.
A good thriller, I especially enjoyed the first half of the book with Cassie settling into her new home and meeting Amy. I enjoyed the dual perspective and wondering what Amy's motives were. Tense enough to be a good thriller. Ending fell a little flat for me, but mostly it was good.
Just finished reading this. Wow, a fabulous page turner full of twists and turns.
The plot was easy to follow and engaging.
I really felt for the main character Cassie, although she was a little naive at first. I finished this book in two days.
I would highly recommend this and other books by Maria Frankland. A fantastic author who produces one great book after another. Each as good, if not better, than the last. I don't know how she does it.
I loved this book! The twists, the turns, and the unexpected! The paranoia that Cassie was feeling was so relatable! We have all heard those creepy sounds from inside the house and it just gave me a real feel of that nervousness. I couldn’t put this book down! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review it!
🌸ARC READ🌸
I received this book as an arc read through netgalley but my review is honest!
This book has 3 POVs, and it was very easy to follow. With books that have multiple POVs it’s usually very hard to follow but this was different. The plot kept me interested and the characters will filled with so much that you just understood them. I would definitely recommend this book!
With a rating of 4/5 stars, it was a very well written book and the first book of @writermaria_f I have read!
Thanks NetGalley for the read and Maria Frankland for a great thriller! Also thanks to Bookouture for sharing!
This was a great psychological thriller! Ranks up there with Freida McFadden! I loved the twists and turns and that the characters were well developed and believable. Sometimes the unsuspecting character can be portrayed as oblivious, but I loved how Cassie had some brain cells working and gut instinct too.
I would have loved it if the dog would have been more used as a guide to suspicion or adding to the "who done it" vibe with doggie senses. This would have been a great way to cast suspicion away from some characters and towards others.
I guessed the outcome relatively quickly, but thoroughly enjoyed the journey and had to rethink my suspicions a few times.
I fully expected Becca's mother to be a pawn in the mystery, sot that was a little disappointing. I could have totally imagined her illness (which I guess was imposed) as payment for what she knew and a way to keep her quiet so that was a bit disappointing, but I guess too many turns can complicate things too much.
Again, thanks for the read, I'll be watching for more from this author!
There are so many tense moments to this book that had me on edge, the build up of tension kept me reading until the very end.
WOW I have just read another brilliant book by the amazing Maria Frankland. 'I Let her In'.
I have read all of her books and I'm sure each book just gets better every time. I really enjoy Maria style of writing with each character as you feel like you get to know them more. The story grips you right from the start with all the twists and you think you have figured it out and then another twist appears.
Highly recommend any of Maria books as they all set in a style you can relate to.
Amazing book Maria Frankland again you did not disappoint x
This is a sinister and well written novel that pulls you in from the beginning. A taut and twisty thriller that left me gasping in places! I loved it!
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. My first from this author. A fast easy read that kept me engaged and invested. Writing was easy to follow. Not a literary work, but a good domestic thriller.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookoutre for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of I Let Her In by Maria Frankland due to be published March 19, 2024.
Cassie was so excited to move to Cherry Tree Lane to begin a new life with her husband, Jon, and son, Teddy. She was equally as excited to meet Amy on their first trip to the local playground. Amy and Cassie struck up an immediate friendship – until it took a bad turn.
This had me hooked from the beginning – it was full of twists and turns from all the characters – Jon, Cassie, Becca, and Amy. It was a wild ride – I finished it in a couple days.
I had to finish it fast to see how it ended – a great domestic thriller from Maria Frankland!
