Another winning read from S E Lynes. The book is about Jessica and Will. They are married with two children and decide to have a night out to celebrate their wedding anniversary. But things fall apart the next day when Jessica receives photos of Will with another woman and is convinced that he must be having an affair and decides he is as bad as her father who had cheated on her mum. Will denies it but Jessica isn’t convinced and throws him out. In desperation Will moves into a Travelodge and meets up with a man called Ian who offers him somewhere to stay. But things are not what they seem and soon Will puts all his family in danger. This book was a bit slow at the beginning but soon had me hooked with all the secrets and revelations that were being revealed. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity read and review this book.
A marvelous twisty story full of surprises! S.E. Lynes had done it again. The characters are relatable. The plot will blow you away! You don't want to miss this one!

Thank you for the ARC
This book had me hooked from the first chapter. You’ve got a marriage falling apart, secrets, and lies, twists and turns, and just when you think you have the characters figured out, the author throws in a big surprise! I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
The Split was really good! It really kept me on my toes, which made this book hard to put down. I liked the characters and how just when you felt like you understood them, something came up that you weren't expecting!
This is a gripping psychological thriller which left my heart racing, to what Will was possibly doing. I was hooked from the very pages, and loved how the story unfolds. This is my first book by this author and for sure it won't be the last.
I enjoyed this, there were many twists and elements that were not expected. However, the the innocence of the husband was a bit too unrealistic. Overall, not a bad read, but not my favorite.
I absolutely loved 'The Split'! The story of a marriage falling apart after shocking photos emerge had me hooked from the start. The suspense and twists kept me guessing until the very end. If you enjoy intense thrillers like those by Lisa Jewell and Ruth Ware, this book is a must-read!
Will and Jessica had happily celebrated their anniversary then suddenly a dossier of photos cause a dramatic split…..very far fetched, a tad dramatic but gripping nonetheless! Great characters and twists and turns!
The Split is a great psychological thriller.
Jessica and Will have been out and celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary, they’ve had a great time but it’s the morning after and things go downhill quickly as Jessica receives numerous photographs on her mobile of Will with a woman at various hotels. “It’s not what you think” says Will and that one sentence makes Jessica see red and throws him out immediately. Will is the full time carer for there two children and Jessica is the career woman and balancing the two becomes very tricky. Will is down and goes to a pub down the road from the hotel he’s staying at and meets by chance a man who offers him a flat for free, Will accepts but here his life turns into something he doesn’t know.
This was a really good reward that I enjoyed, I liked the main characters and I loved the twists in this psychological thriller. The ending was a little sketchy in places but I can forgive that for the amount of twists there were. Can’t wait for the next by this author.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.
It took me a while to get into The Split but it did pick up pace and I started to really enjoy it. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I loved the drama and the twists. However, it was not the most spectacular thriller I've ever read, but nevertheless it was quite enjoyable. There is a lot of drama involved, so if you're into that, you should pick this up!
I am grateful to have received this on netgalley, especially as I have enjoyed what I’ve read from this author before.
I gravitated towards this for the author and the cover which caught my eye.
Other than that, I knew nothing about this book.
I loved seeing both perspectives on the same points through the story. I feel like I worried a certain point was getting predictable but I was pleasantly surprised.
Definitely more domestic mystery rather that domestic thriller which isn’t what I had expected / hoped for- but again I didn’t really know anything about but about the book when I started so that’s on me.
Overall I enjoyed this and am keen to try even more from the author in the future.
This page-turner had me hooked from the start, rushing through to unravel the shocking secrets that unfolded. After discovering incriminating photos of her husband, Jessica's life is turned upside down. S.E. Lynes skillfully weaves a tale of hurt, anger, and confusion, showcasing how emotions can cloud judgment. The well-placed twists and intense emotions kept me engaged throughout. I found the story gripping, tense, and expertly written. Looking forward to diving into S.E. Lynes' future works!
Gratitude to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this compelling book honestly.
This author is one of my auto buy authors. Unfortunately, with this one I found it to be very repetitive and predictable. I love the way she writes but I was frustrated with this one.
Wow talk about twist after twist! Can't praise enough and will definitely look at others by this author
Interesting read about a story that starts off with a couple celebrating their anniversary when the wife gets a strange text of pictures of her husband with another woman. The story goes through their split and what factors get in the way of them potentially getting back together.
The Split by S.E. Lynes is original and an amazing page turner. Highly recommend and will purchase several physical and digital copies for library collections.
Twist upon twist upon twist!
I could not put it down once I reached the second half of this book.
I highly recommend it as a twisty thriller!
The Split by S E Lynes is a psychological thriller will twists that will keep you guessing until the very end.
When Jessica wakes up the morning after her anniversary, she is happy because she had such a wonderful night with her husband, until her phone lights up with pictures from an unknown number. The pictures show her husband with another woman, and after she confronts him, he refuses to confess to an affair. Angry and hurt she throws him out.
Will refuses to explain the pictures and thinks that listening to his wife and going to stay at a hotel will give her time to cool off. Over the years, he has cared more about the children than things like his appearance. He doesn’t realize that small things like wearing socks with holes in them make Jessica feel like he doesn’t care about appearances and maybe he doesn’t care about her. That maybe he has become apathetic.
When Will refuses to explain why he is at a hotel with another woman, miscommunication and deception causes a chain of events that have both Jessica and Will rethinking their relationship.
I liked the different twists. The writing style switched between his and her perspectives, giving you both points of view and they way each viewed the situation. At times the story seemed to drag, but when it picked up speed, it was full throttle . I definitely enjoyed the story and will check out other books by S E Lynes. The Split will keep you guessing.
