I loved the many points of view and the time hopping. I didn't see it coming, not all of it at least.
Thank you, Bookouture Audio for this advance copy in exchange for my review.
Don't Let Her Go is book one of the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series and I cannot wait to read book two.
I've never read a police procedural before, but I'm very glad I read this one.
It has something for everyone! Abduction, murder, dirty cops and the list goes on.
This was such a quick and easy read that I actually did not want to put down. The epitome of a page turner.
I went back and forth the entire time on who Kitty was and who the killer/abductor was.
I will say my initial guess about Kitty was correct but I really loved how it played out.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Billie Ann's coming out story throughout, and can't wait to see what happens next with her.
🎧📖 note: Lisa Rost-Welling did a fantastic job with both Billie Ann as well as the rest of the cast.
I listened to this as an audiobook 🎧 - initial thoughts - I was not a fan of the narrator, very monotone and hard to put with the characters. By the end, I could picture her as Billie Ann but there definitely could have been more umph added to the character.
This story follows Detective Wilde who finds herself in the middle of multiple murders, one being a young girl. These murders must have a connection, but what is it? Detective Wilde must dive into her past to find the killer before he strikes again.
The book - although had a good initial grasp to pull you in - had many unnecessary details and character developments for characters that weren’t even really relevant to the story. This just added to confusion in trying to keep everyone straight. I didn’t understand adding in so much detail of Billy Ann’s life when it really wasn’t relevant to the overall plot. Furthermore, the dialogue is very surface level and just adds so much unnecessary fluff.
The plot itself, if executed properly, could have been very good, but it unfortunately just didn’t live up to its full potential.
The plot twist was entirely too predictable and I already knew who the killer was 1/4 into the book - it was still a good storyline but definitely had several turn offs.
This isn’t a bad read and I feel like I may even enjoy it more physically reading it but it’s not one that I will add to my all time favorites.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.
● Short chapters
● Multiple timelines
● combination of 1st & 3rd person
I liked it and didn't like it all at the same time. I guessed the culprit at like 10%, which made it kind of boring.
The multiple timelines felt like it had too much going on. I also feel like so much was left without an answer.
If it weren't for the narrator being good I, might have DNFed.
This is book #1 of a new series from author Willow Rose.
Looking forward to keeping up with it!
Billie Ann is head of homicide in Cocoa Beach, FL. She lives with her husband and kids and seems to have the perfect life…until it all starts to fall apart…
A jogger finds a body floating in a swamp. It’s a young girl…
At the same time, a young woman, juggling with all the struggles of being a Mom…and alone…loses her daughter while doing household chores.
Strange thing is, she doesn’t want to report it.
Even stranger…there’s no record of her daughter being alive!
This is the OPENING of the book!
It goes off in multiple directions, leaving much room for imagination, and plot building…
Somewhat confusing at times, as there are multiple timelines, and sometimes I’d forget which one we were in… (that’s on me...) 😮
But, the way it’s all patched together at the end…amazing!
And the fact that at multiple times I was CHEERING out loud for the underdog? Well, what more can I say? To me, that’s the sign of a great book…that you are so invested you are cheering for the characters!!
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!
#DontLetHerGo by #WillowRose and beautifully narrated by #LisaRostWelling.

As always, thanks for reading along with me! 😊📚📖
I am very mixed on this book. I hated most of it, but liked aspects of it. There were a lot of side things going on, that I was not thrilled with, and did not seem to have any bearing on the book and actually took away from the book overall. Not one that I would read again.
This is one exciting ride. The reader is left swinging between worrying about little Emma and believing her mother, Marissa, is living in a fantasy world. As the story unfolds two timelines merge and answers slowly come to light, uncovering a truly horrific tale. A brilliant book
Detective Billie Ann receives a call about a missing child, but when she goes to investigate she sees no evidence a child actually lives there. Is the mother lying about having a child? Everyone else thinks so but Billie Ann doesn’t. Now she needs to move quick to find the missing girl and help unlock the key to a case from Billie Ann’s past.
I thought Don’t Let her Go was a good read, I enjoyed the characters and was pleasantly surprised and how all of the side plots and characters came together at the end. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series and finding out what happens to Billie Ann and her family. I enjoyed the dual timeline and kept trying to figure out how they fit together. The twists kept coming and I was shocked at the ending.
Thank you to Netgally, Bookouture Audio and Willow Rose for an audio ARC copy
Don’t Let Her Go is my first Willow Rose book. I started to feel like I was reading an AI written book based on a specific formula and some key words. The sentences were simplistic and added very little to the depth of the characters. The main character Billie Ann was unlikable and self-contradictory through out. She was so much more interested in her career and her newfound openness that she wasn’t connected to any of the people in her life. There was really only one of her children that got any page time at all. I am all for stories with people making and acting on self discoveries, but Billie Ann was not it. The author made her a trope instead of a character. The narrator’s voices were kind of cheesy and over the top so that the parts of the book I listened to were made even more unbelievable.
This is my first Willow Rose book. I enjoyed the entire story and plot and was interested the entire way through. I did figure out a bit of the plot lines during the book but still really enjoyed it.
I will certainly be continuing the Billie Ann Wilde series as I did find it interesting and I enjoyed her character, so I am looking forward to watching her character development in books to come.
This book goes between a kidnapping in the past to some current events with a missing child and some murders. There is plenty going on in the book with some side stories and the past story as well as all of the present things being connected in one way or another.
As we read through (or listen in my case) you see where the story is going and how everything ties together to solve the past mysteries and the present ones. Figuring out how they are all related and tied together.
Great story, I enjoyed the writing style and fast chapters and reading.
I received a ARC copy from NetGalley, this review is entirely mine.
Unputdownable audio - loved it
This audio was so good and it was well written with great characters, totally engaged with it. Story flowed really well from then and now
Detective Billie Ann Wilde solves the case of the missing 5yr old girl and her desperate mother, who has no records of the daughter. This was a creepy detective thriller but Billie Ann links the case to the unresolved missing child from 14yrs ago too.
Thank you to Netgalley, William Rose and Bookoutre Audio
This is the first book in a female detective series and its got off to a good start
The book gives you an in site into the life of Billie Ann Wilde and her history
The investigation into a missing 5 year old opens up lots of twists and turns
Good audio book
The audiobook narrator was great so I recommend listening to this novel if you have any interest!
This author’s books have the ability to simultaneously make you unable to stop reading while wishing you could bury the book somewhere deep underground where it can't be found. Compelling and didn’t want it to end!
This book had so much potential. While I had never heard of the author or this book before picking it up, I was very excited to read it. That feeling didn’t last long though. I gave three stars to this book which is honestly pretty generous. This was more of a 2.5 star for me. There was so much that happened that wasn’t necessary to the story. I felt so much was unbelievable. And it honestly was just a mess. This is not the series or author for me.
Thanks to Bookouture, NetGalley, author Willow Rose and narrator Lisa Rost-Welling for a thrilling new book. I have been a big fan of Willow Rose’s books for years and this book is my new favorite of hers. When a five year old goes missing it opens up the past for Detective Billie Ann Wilde. Ten years earlier she failed to rescue a missing child and now that same girl has grown up and her child has gone missing. But with no one knowing about her or her child she has a hard time convincing authorities that her daughter is actually alive let alone missing. However, more bodies begin showing up and time is running out fast. If Billie Ann doesn’t hurry she may fail this woman again and how many deaths will she have to live with?
I definitely recommend this book to fans of Kendra Elliott and Robert Dugoni. Be prepared to stay up late reading!!!
This is my first book by this author and she has gained a fan for sure. The Detective Billie Ann Wilde series was definitely a good one to start with as it’s exactly my kind of listen. It’s a fast paced listen that I binged in a day. There is so much going on within the storyline from switching between past and present timelines to individual characters back stories and it just works. I was so invested throughout. The narrator did a fantastic job along with the snappy chapters. The author really knows how to weave a story and write well developed characters from the lovable to the detestable. As the story unfolded my mind went into overdrive and I started to come up with my own ideas and that’s not always a good thing but it makes a pretty good read 😜. I love it when a book has you looking at everyone. For me this one had it all and I’ll look forward to the next instalment. Put this on your TBR list…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐
Don't Let Her Go by Willow Rose, an audiobook Narrated by Lisa Rost-Welling is an absolutely unputdownable, heart-pounding, and twisty mystery and suspense thriller! I could scream how good it was!!! WOW! OK!
First of all, this is the first book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series and it opens with a BOM!
This book was just crazy good! The twists tight together this story was insane! I literally stopped my day because I could not put this down!
Lisa Rost-Welling - seriously, you did the fantastic narration and all the voices! I felt it! I felt it to my bones! It's heartbreaking! This book is heartbreaking!
This book goes straight to my made-up 6-star rating - I absolutely loved it!
Detective Billie is the head of the team and she must find the killer of the young girl that was discovered in the local pond... Things get so messy in the process and there are more mysteries to solve than anyone can imagine!
This is a story told from different timelines and different points of view, this is a story that will break your heart!
I can't even express how thankful I am for this advance copy to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio! I loved it so, so much!
I finished this a few days ago and still aren’t too sure of what to say. The story was good, the plot was good, how it was written was great! I was hooked immediately and finished it in one night. I think I just rarely read thrillers about children and this book hit on so many tough topics, parts were super tough to read about. Definitely read the trigger warnings! I think everything in this book a good to talk about. It wasn’t a lighthearted fun thriller but I was engaged and needed to know what happened!! I’m excited for the second book and hope Detective Billie Ann’s character starts to have more confidence in how badass she is!
I received the audio version of this book. The narrator was good. It wasn’t my favorite but she was easy to listen to.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this audio arc!
I enjoyed listening to this book whilst on commuting to and from work. Story and narrator kept me engaged throughout. Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the advance listener copy
This new release by Willow Rose is definitely a captivating mystery! There are so many different aspects that will keep the reader guessing and trying to put all the pieces together! The characters are all well written, and done so in a way that draws you in and allows you to feel their different emotions.
This book does contain child abuse, and rape that my be triggering to some readers
My two critiques… I was a little confused and disappointed in some of the information, I feel like the age for one of the young characters wasn’t clear (I did listen to the audiobook so I may have missed something, but if I did it was a brief transition). Also being a big fan of Disney World, I was a little disappointed in the description of the park.
