So. Much. Drama! Ugh. So, I gave this book a chance because I had invested my time reading the first book. Now I’m wondering why I went through the trouble. This story was all kinds of messed up. The dialogue, the conflict and the overall storyline felt disjointed. I felt like some elements were brought in as filler because nothing was developed thoroughly—the story felt underdeveloped and incomplete. While the first book had elements that didn’t interest me, the story as a whole made sense. This one, not so much. I don’t think I’ll be reading anything more by this author.
In "Twisted," we continue the world including Drake, from the first book in the series, but from Chloe's point of view. Much of the book focuses on a frustrating, messy love triangle involving Jordan, Chloe's first boyfriend, and Drake, who is on tour with his band, dealing with a stalker, and dealing with so much misplaced jealousy that I wanted to reach into the book and smack him. The B-plot, however, hinges on Chloe's relationship with her horrible mother, who wants Chloe to visit her dying aunt in order to receive an inheritance, and Chloe is only willing to do so in order to ask her aunt not to give any money to her mother. Ultimately, the romance commands more attention than the family drama, which perhaps would have been a more interesting read if it were the main plot of the book.
I requested this book ten years ago, and am no longer interested in reading. Thank you for the opportunity.
Chloe and Drake are back in the second book in the Torn series. I loved reading more about this couple and the challenges that they face but...
Drake annoys me to no end. He jumps to the worse case scenario every freaking time. If you don't trust the girlfriend that you love then break up with her.
Also seeing Chloe's mom, dang. That lady is just straight up crazy! I can't believe she wasn't put in jail years prior, but I guess that makes for great story drama.
So besides Drake being absolute horrible at times, I really did enjoy this book. I can't wait to read about more characters in the next book of the series.
