Thank you NetGalley for the gifted ARC. This was a very cute and quick read. The author dedicated the book to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for inspiration. I can completely see where she got the idea with an aspiring singer songwriter and NFL star.
Their love story began in high school where Stone had a crush on his ex-best friend’s little sister and Emerson had a feelings for Stone too. They lost touch and were reconnected when Emerson moved into the apartment next door to Stone. They decide to start up a fake relationship to provide Emerson with som visibility and help get her a music contract.
I recommend this book to all those swiftie lovers at there. It was a very sweet read with a happy ending.
I was really excited when I read that it was inspired by the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift but when I started reading it it was nothing like it, maybe similar in their professions (?)
.
Emerson is the younger sister of Stone's best friend in high school but at the end of senior year things change and not only do they distance themselves but a story of hate begins.
.
Several years later, Stone is in the life of his dreams, he is one of the best players in the league and is about to win another super bowl with his team when he discovers who his new neighbor is.
.
All the emotions that he had been covering up for years begin to come out and when he learns that she has problems being discovered by a music producer, he offers to help her by pretending to be a couple.
.
This is a story of second chance, fake relationship between enemies who form a truce and become friends and something more
.
I really wanted to know what her songs were about, the writer describe how magical is when she arrives on stage and looks like she starts to sing but she doesn't say anything about the lyrics and that would have been very good considering that she sings pop country music to the best Taylor Swift style, besides I am a fan of a lyric that tells a story and I feel that there was much more to write about it, about other characters too, I feel that it fell short in so many parts.
.
But I still really enjoyed this book, and keep picturing the scenes so beautiful written.
.

"Lucky Charm" by Anne-Marie Meyer is a charming and heartwarming romance that will sweep readers off their feet. Meyer's delightful storytelling brings to life the budding romance between aspiring singer and protagonist, and NFL receiver Stone Walker.
The premise of fake dating between neighbors adds an element of fun and intrigue to the story, setting the stage for a delightful romp filled with humor and heartfelt moments. The chemistry between the characters sizzles off the pages, making their journey from fake relationship to real love all the more satisfying.
What sets "Lucky Charm" apart is its exploration of second chances and the power of love to heal old wounds. As the protagonists navigate their complicated pasts and uncertain futures, readers are drawn into a tale of forgiveness, redemption, and self-discovery.
Overall, "Lucky Charm" is a delightful and uplifting read that will leave readers with a smile on their faces. Meyer's witty dialogue, endearing characters, and swoon-worthy romance make this a must-read for fans of contemporary romance.
Looking for a football star & singer romance because you have Travis Kelce+ Taylor Swift fever too? Lucky Charm by Anne-Marie Meyer is here! It was a fast paced read with touches of complex feels.
Star receiver of Tennessee Tigers, Stone Waters get a surprise of his lifetime when his estranged best friend's sister and his crush Emerson moves into the condo opposite him. Emerson is trying hard to make a name in music industry but she didn't have much success. Her best friend and manager Tilly proposes a fake dating but will they able to hide their true feelings?
This book is a low spice one. Stone and Emerson have a long history. Emerson's family hate him and blame him for being drafted into the NFL while their son couldn't and they immediately stopped being a sanctuary for Stone from his abusive home. Emerson don't know what to believe and all these years later, the feelings are murky too. Emerson doesn't have a stable mindset. Most of her actions seemed pretty immature and impulsive to me. She went hot and cold on Stone. She is obviously confused about how to deal with her feels. She is torn between the ideas her family put in her head and Stone's caring protective behaviors. I loved Stone more. He was focused on his career. He feels he isn't good enough for Emerson but he also wants to do everything to help her succeed. The beginning of the story was so good. I expected to see more of their fake dating life. It felt like everything wrapped up quickly in last few chapters. Emerson talked a lot about her family's issues with Stone but we didn't see any conflict in the pages. Her brother didn't even have an appearance. There were lots of back and forth between Stone and Emerson. I left the story with a sense of missing links and incompleteness.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
This was a cute, quick read involving Stone & Emerson. Stone has always had a crush on Emerson, his ex best friend's sister. After a falling out with his best friend, he moved away and left the whole King family behind. Fast forward a few years and Emerson moves in across the hall from Stone who is now an NFL player. Emerson is aspiring singer who has yet to get her big break. She is still hurt by Stone up and leaving. But then her manager has a brilliant idea to help Emerson get noticed & signed: She needs to "fake" date Stone.
Overall, I thought this was pretty cute. It's a clean story, no spice. I really enjoyed Anne-Marie's writing style. I feel like some of the sub plots didn't wrap up and the ending felt a little rushed. I feel like the book could've been a little longer to help wrap things up a little better. The fake dating really only lasted for a day. But the epilogue was super sweet and I love how things ended between the two. If you miss the spice, there is a spicy bonus scene you can read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sweet Escape Publishing for the ARC.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be based on Taylor swift but I definitely enjoyed the possibility of this inspiration. I love a fake dating turn romance trope! It's not quite E2L as Stone and Emerson are both too sweet to really be enemies, it's very cute and doesn't have the typical Playboy storyline. I did feel at times that a little more world building and outside characters might have helped it feel a little less rushed in places but overall I really liked it and would recommend!
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!
What a sweet/cute Halmarky romance. That was so cute and such a quick and easy read. I loved it!
If you’re looking for a super sweet, kisses-only, friends-to-lovers rom com, welcome to your perfect read. Did I hate her family? Yes, yes I did. Did I want to beat the two leads with their own excuses? Yes, yes I absolutely did. Did I enjoy this? Yes, yes, and yes again.
2.75/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
thank you to netgalley for the arc!
stone is a NFL football player with a rough past that was scouted in high school while emerson is a hopeful singer that moved to nashville to pursue her dreams. emerson just so happens to be the sister of stone's ex best friend who now blames him for ruining his life and stealing his scholarship. there is no way they can be together, but when they choose to fake date as a PR move things take a turn!
lucky charm is inspired by taylor swift and travis kelce's love story, which really made me excited to read the book! although it was inspired, it does have it's own story and overall it was very easy to read and very bingeable.
overall, this read like a wattpad fic to me, which i don't think is at all a negative thing! it was quite predictable and the miscommunication trope was a little bit too much for me.
Absolutely LOVED this book! I couldn’t put it down and finished in a day! Anne Marie Meyer knows how to tug at your heart strings. (That's one of the reasons I love her.) Having read other stories she has written, I went into this book excited to see what would happen and I was not disappointed!
Can you fake dating your high school crush?
Emerson King thought her luck was changing by being able to sublease an apartment near downtown Nashville but she never expected to find out that her brother ex-best friend Stone Walker was living in his grandmother’s apartment across the hall.
Receiver Stone Walker was coming off winning the Super Bowl but finding out the sister of his former best friend was trying to make it as a singer/songwriter in Nashville but she needed some help to build up a following and catch the eye of the record companies. Maybe they can pretend to date to give her the visibility that he has as a professional athlete?
I loved that Stone finally got to date his high school crush when her family hates him when they feel that he got the chance at a scholarship that her brother felt should have been his and they hate him for it
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lucky Charm by Anne-Marie Meyer
Rating: 4/5
Publication Date:23 April 2024
Tropes: Fake Relationship, Forbidden Romance, Slow Burn.
This quick read focusses on Emerson, an up and coming singer, and Stone, an NFL player. Back in high school Stone had a big old crush on Emerson, but life unfortunately had other plans for them. Years later, they’re thrown back into each other’s orbit and so the romance ensues.
This was a cute read. I understand it’s based off of a current pop culture couple, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, but I could be wrong, I’m no Swiftie.
This was overall a cosy read, the couple was cute and the dynamic interesting. If you’re into slightly cheesy romances, then this one is for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sweet Escape Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This was a really sweet romance. It was a fast read. The characters were great and it had all my favorite tropes. What really stood out was the end option of spicy or not spicy. Very Hallmark vibe which I also love. This is my first read by Anne-Marie Meyer but definitely not my last.
4/5 stars!! I loved the play on Taylor and Travis. The vibes were great and I loved the banter. It seemed a little rushed and could’ve used a little more character building, but I love the read overall, it was quick easy lighthearted and super cute
4/5 stars. It was a nice super quick read. I finished reading it in one day. This book is released April 23 2024. Thank you to Anne-Marie Meyer, Sweet Escape Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.
What a sweet romance! It's a nice easy quick read. I loved the Taylor Swift/Kelce vibes!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
I really enjoyed this story, including the spicy extra option at the end! (There was a non-spicy option as well) It was a really sweet and touching romance between the characters, and the fake-dating trope mixed with a lucky charm, and She/He's-off-limits trope didn't disappoint! If you're looking for a quick, HEA romance that gives you all the cozy happy vibes, then this is an excellent choice.
I have to admit, when I saw that this was Travis/Taylor inspired, I was a little worried because we all know how the last one turned out. 😳 But this was a cute, "Hallmark movie" style story that was really light and easy to read. I finished this book in one day and was drawn in enough that I really wanted to know what would happen next. This is a painfully slow burn with very little spice, but that almost made the story even better. There were a few loose ends that I wish were wrapped up by the end and a couple of sports references that weren't quite right, but overall I really enjoyed the story of Stone and Emerson.

Lucky Charm by Anne-Marie Meyer is a brother’s best friend romance.
Stone Walker - NFL Super Bowl Winner

In this cute romance, years after a game gone unexpectedly and The King’s Family and Stone having had severed ties, fate reunites the two by making them neighbors. A second chance for what had been left unsaid all those years ago with their secret crushes from high school. Anne Marie Meyer knows how to tug at your heart strings!
Having read other stories she has written, I went into this book excited to see what would happen. I was not disappointed!
This book tells the story of Emerson and Stone. Emerson is an aspiring musician and Stone is a professional football player.
Reuniting after years of not talking and working through the distance that separated them. She tells their story in a dynamic way that lores the reader in and you cannot help but route for them to come together and realize what they mean to each other.
Anne Marie Meyer keeps the story moving along in a fun way with many fun escapades. Excellent read. A must for Anne Marie Meyer fans!
