Chloe hasn't had the best life. With a mother who is gone more often than not, she has had to raise herself. After graduating high school, she leaves to start a new life away at West Virginia University with her best friends Amber and Logan, determined to leave her demons in the past.
I now remember why I don't read New Adult romance. It is too much fantasy and not enough reality and it is thinly veiled porn.
It's not often that I can't find some redeemable quality in a book but there was nothing I enjoyed about Torn. The characters are shallow and immature and pretty flat. There is no measurable character growth for any of them.
There wasn't much of a plot. Chloe is torn between two guys - one is supposedly her best friend yet she doesn't care much about his feelings. Love triangles are my least favorite kind of romance.
It is definitely a fantasy - there was hardly anything realistic about the story. Chloe has a an drug-addicted, abusive mother is rarely. Yet Chloe can afford a tuition, books, and a college dorm? Even if she got financial aid to cover tuition and books, there still her car and other living expenses, but she is never concerned about money. And how does Drake afford a house without roommates? How many people have goose-feathered filled pillows anymore? The pillow fight between college roommates read like it came straight from a porn movie. There is little description of Chloe but it is pointed out that she wears a 36D bra - that girl is definitely have back problems in her future!
The books sort of on a cliff hanger but I'm not tempted at all to continue this series. I can't believe 4 more books in this series was published.
If you looking for a sexual fantasy to read then you will probably enjoy this book.

Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to read this book before it became unavailable to me. As my reading preferences have changed in the years since I requested this book, I do not think it would be a good fit for me now.
*sigh* All that kept going throughly mind while reading this book was that I had read it already. I know this genre tends to have similar stories and all but this one just read a bit too predictable, not only story-wise but also in its characters' personalities. I will say that it had its surprising moments though. I was not expecting Chloe to cheat on Logan with Drake. This is one of those things that I can’t stand in a book. After that, any affection I had towards Chloe or investment in her and Drake’s relationship disappeared. It was so frustrating because I liked premise and wanted to see it through, which is why I plan to read the next installment. I might not be invested a 100% but I invested my time in finishing this one, might as well follow through to find out how it all turns out. All in all, an okay read for me. We’ll see how it pans out.
I requested this book ten years ago, and am no longer interested in reading. Thank you for the opportunity.
Unfortunately, I found this book to read as if it were following a "New Adult"formula – there's bad parents, a love triangle, cheating. Though formulas work for a reason, this time it felt flat – I often felt frustrated and wished the leads were more original and creatively drawn.
Torn by K. A. Robinson. I did not get a chance to read this before it was archived. So many books and not enough time!

This book is like a laundry list of all of the worst romance tropes. The heroine is clumsy and doesn't think she's beautiful, even though literally everyone else does. The heroine is special, because she wears dark colors and listens to metal. Every single character is assessed for attractiveness on first introduction, and of course they're all absurdly stunning. Girls who are not friends and have sex are obviously sluts. I'm not a fan of any of these things, and this is not a book for me.
Thank You for the opportunity to review this book. Sorry, I attempted to read this book. However, I couldn't get in to it. So, I was unable to finish reading and reviewing it.
