A cute picture book of a kid showing the library love and all the things they love about the library. And a good way to remind both children and adults the importance of libraries.
Everyone loves visiting the library! Children—and adults alike—enjoy searching the shelves for new adventures, curling up in their favorite cozy chair during story time, and even laughing with their friends during arts and crafts. The library has something for everybody!
Thank you, library, for books in every nook and cranny.
Thank you, library, for taking me on adventures from the seas to the stars.
Thank you, library, for helpers who find the perfect book that I hug hard the whole way home.
I loved this book. It was a beautiful tribute to books and libraries and the joy and adventures they bring everyone. This book also celebrates diversity. A must-have for everybookshelf.
A very sweet, warm, and touching book that everyone who has had a positive library experience will find lovely. The illustrations are very cute, and over all this is a must have in all libraries.
As a librarian, this book has become one of my favorite books of all time. We put it into circulation at our library already and our patrons are loving it just as much as I do. I even bought myself a personal copy of this book! This heartwarming picture book is a joyful celebration of libraries and the special moments they provide, from story time to arts and crafts. With its warm illustrations and appreciative tone, it beautifully captures the magic of libraries and the love they inspire in readers of all ages.
In this children's coloring book we can see Lisa's love for books and libraries! In a very creative way, it shows us the beauty of being a little reader who borrows books from the library. The joy and excitement of bringing the book home, reading it, spending time with friends reading the book together, being a guest at a special children's book reading event! With this reading, Lisa expressed her special thanks to all the librarians who were super patient with their little readers! Special thanks to NetGalley for this opportunity to read and review this wonderful children's book
This book is a love letter to libraries. What this love letter does differently is that it highlights ways in children love their library from toys to books to quiet moments. Sometimes, books are going on about the library books, but this one goes on about the books, people, and space. Characters featured are diverse. The library featured is colorful a d clearly welcoming to all. When purchased for a library or librarian, it's a bit redundant, but some little library friends will see this and write a thank you note about their library. A cute title on the wonders of public libraries. Also a good book looking at gratitude.
I absolutely adore this book! The author perfectly captures the youthful love for a local library, and this book will no doubt inspire MORE reading within little ones. This book will likely push kids to make their own love letters for their libraries, which is such a heartwarming thing. On top of that, this book will make an ideal story for classroom, daycare, or *library* story time, and it opens so many doors for exploration, learning, discovery, and creativity. This is great to get young minds to be curious and imaginative. Lastly, I loved how diverse and fun the illustrations were. Kids will probably be able to find kids from this book that look like them, or kids that they can relate to. This is awesome, and so valuable for little ones to have.
Bravo!
This book is MAGICAL! I love the thanks to our librarians. They do so much for us, especially during summer. This book is gorgeous and a must for every library shelf.
Thank you, SOURCEBOOKS KIDS, for the advance reading copy.
How can I NOT NOT LOVE THIS BOOK?!
This book is perfect starting from the cover to the flawless artwork!
Libraries are awesome. It’s not just about books but the community we build around it. The book perfectly captures this and that’s what I love the most about the book!
Inclusive and appreciative, a reminder/a love letter to libraries.
A bit on the nose at times however to be fair, I had that impression from the blurb, and cannot complain as this title is great for younger children.
I loved this book! I love the library and can’t wait to have my one year old learn to love it too. This book is a great way to show all you can do there and shows appreciation to those who work and volunteer there.
This was such a lovely read! As a teacher, I strive to foster a love of reading in my students. The library is a very special place and resource for the school. Children that are exposed to books are at an advantage and when that advantage turns to a love of reading, the sky is the limit. 𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬 is a sweet way to show our appreciation for this special place and is an excellent addition to any school or classroom. Highly recommend.
I am a librarian at a small, rural library, so I'm always happy to find books about the library. I recieved A Love Letter to My Library as a free ebook galley in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this book that listed all the best characteristics of the library in warm, glowing praise. It makes me think of good books, comfy chairs and supportive people, especially for the children. The colorful art has a childlike vibes and the textured feel of collage.
As an almost-librarian this book made me tear up.
I loved going to the library as a kid and this book shows all the reasons why. And why I wanted to be a librarian when I grew up.
The illustrations are beautifully diverse. This book is great for anyone who wants to acknowledge or instill a love for libraries in little ones' hearts.
Sweet love letter to libraries and all they mean to kids and adults. The illustrations are so wonderful and inclusive. Just like a library!!
The Library is one of my most cherished memories growing up! It’s where my passion for books and a love of the adventure that every book can bring. It was my sanctuary, my safe place. Still to this day books are my calm when my world is full of chaos, and it all started when I was very young and going to the library. I was a lucky kid because my parents loved the library and we were taken even as infants and shared their love of the library. Reading was an adventure and a passion to everyone in our family, even now. This is why the library means so much for me.
This book is the perfect book lovers tribute to our precious libraries. The author, Lisa Katzenberger, captured our feelings perfectly. Every page brings me a flood of emotions and memories. The thank yous are exactly how I feel and they express some of the thoughts and favorite things about why we love our library. The illustrations, created by Rob Sayeigh Jr., are colorful and bright. They do an amazing job of showing the diversity of people both young and old who love their library. Each picture enhances the thought on the page. I even found some favorite thoughts like “for taking me on adventures from the seas to the stars”. Especially “little books made for little hands.”
I can’t say enough about how wonderful this book was for me. It’s a perfect gift for any book and library lover. It also makes the perfect gift for your favorite librarian, they are what makes the place magical.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids for allowing us an ebook ARC of this book. We had to rush out and grab one for our home library as fast as we could. Your book loving family will love this book for all ages. Enjoy this adventure with your family!!
This sweet picture book is exactly as the title claims, A love letter to a library. The book is written as a thank you note and lists all the things that one can find at the library: shelves full of books, cozy spots to read, books that take the reader on journeys near and far. We see kids reading, listening to story time, participating in crafts and even using the internet to video chat with distant relatives, One of the most important things mentioned s a librarian who helps a child find a book with someone like her. Kids crave books that provide a mirror to their own culture. It is crucial that diverse populations are represented in books, The illustrator does just that. Rob Sayegh, Jr. has created bright colorful collage style illustrations that depict a variety of library patrons with skin of many shades. even including a kid with Vitiligo, a pigmentation disorder that causes white patches. Another child is in a wheelchair. I recommend this book for any youngster who cherishes trips to the library!
Loved this, and can’t wait to order the hardcover copy for my students! A sweet picture book that is exactly what the title says, A LOVE LETTER TO MY LIBRARY.
This book is so adorable and perfectly captured the spirit at the library. The illustrations and story were perfection . Libraries are integral parts in any community and a place where we all belong.
