I loved Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago together as an investigative team working to solve a murder with sparks flying and comedy woven in along the way. This book is a nice break from some of the darker thrillers I read, and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this one for mystery and cozy mystery fans who also enjoy romantic comedies.

I absolutely loved this book! I've read many Lucy score books before but this one is very different. There is a mystery to be solved with a little hanky pinky sprinkled into it. It's fun and fast paced!

Who doesn’t love a good cozy mystery with a dash of spice and some supernatural elements to it?! I devoured this book and not just because Lucy Score books are some of my favorites…I loved our FMC Riley and her quirky self. I loved her character so much.

When Riley ended up teaming up with PI Nick I knew this was going to be good *smirk haha. I loved watching them work together told solve her neighbors murder. Riley and Nicks dynamic and relationship was perfection in this book.

Their banter and chemistry is literally off the charts in here. I read this gem in one entire setting and can honestly say I am excited to see what else is in store for Riley and her incredible character.

I absolutely loved this book! This book kept me on my toes while also keeping me wanting more. Riley’s roommates quickly became my favorite characters! Loved the banter in this book I found myself smiling and laughing out loud several times. Loved the tension between Riley and Nick. I’m always a sucker for the fake dating trope and this was no exception.

This book was hilarious! The absurd situations Riley for herself into combined with the slapstick comedy has me laughing out loud.

I really liked Riley, I did have to roll my eyes a bit at her attempts to deny she was a psychic, as if anyone other than a psychic routinely talks to the dead and has visions. But girl was in denial and after learning about certain events, I certainly understand why. I loved the journey of personal growth she went on throughout this book with Nick’s help, even if he wishes she hadn’t decimated the safe little shell she had been hiding in.

I’m a sucker for the reformed bachelor trope and Nick was powerless against Riley’s unique charms. I love how he took everything and was afraid of in stride. He wasn’t freaked out by her psychic abilities or her quirky family complete with a spore cow and a family compound.

The side characters in this book here hilarious too. I loved everyone living in the mansion. I never knew what they were going to do next and I was just here to enjoy the ride.

Natalie Duke did an amazing job narrating. I usually prefer dual narration but she did an amazing job with the extensive set of characters.

Lucy Score weaves an unexpectedly delightful story with Riley Thorne and the Dead Guy Next Door. The story is surprising and entertaining, full of fun characters, wacky scenarios and an amazing plot. There is a lot that happens, and while I am not sure it was her intention, Lucy Score has set the stage for a never ending series of humorous, romantic and smexy mysteries.

I highly recommend this story!

This was light and funny. I enjoyed that it had a mix of genres that flowed well together. If you like the Stephanie Plum or Finlay Donavan series, this should be fun for you as well.

I don’t have a ton of experience reading Lucy Score, but this book didn’t hit for me. I was excited for the romance/mystery vibes, but it didn’t pay off for me and I thought the writing was fairly goofy.

"Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door," is a hilarious romp filled with action, mystery, and romance. Lucy Score sank a three-pointer with this fast-moving tale of crime and romance.

After a contentious divorce, Riley Thorn finds herself stuck in a dead-end job with no sense of purpose. She's at odds with the psychic abilities her family embraces. When Riley gets unwittingly caught up in a local murder, she teams up with private investigator, Nick Santiago, to solve the case.

Lucy Score manages to weave several genres effortlessly. This cozy mystery has a dash of spicy romance mixed in with a large helping of humor and a sprinkle of supernatural.

This book has a lively cast of secondary characters. Riley's elderly neighbors deserve their own spinoff. Their lovable quirks and protectiveness over Riley won me over. Riley's eccentric divination-dealing family added a fresh layer of hilarity. A standout character was Gabe, Riley's spiritual advisor, who had some of the funniest one liners in the book.

Riley and Nick's chemistry was sizzling, and the development of their relationship felt authentic to their character arcs. Lucy Score had a unique take on the fake dating trope in a way that served the story instead of detracting from it. The plot zig-zagged to zany proportions, but the excitement kept me eager to keep turning the pages.

Lucy Score has a way with words that draws a reader into the story. Her descriptions are so vivid, that it's easy to get lost in the story.

If you're a fan of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books, Riley Thorn will fit right in on your shelf. It has quirky, yet lovable characters who find themselves in the most unlikely situations. You can't help but root for all of them, "Thorns" and all.

"Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door," was a worthy opening to the series. Lucy Score sneaks in a cliffhanger ending that opens the door for a sequel. I'm looking forward to reading what's behind door number two.

“Life is an adventure to be lived, not a series of repetitive days to survive.”

Riley Thorn is fantastic! I loved all the wit rooted in this story. There was so much humor to be had and it was created in the most tasteful way.

Riley Thorn is a psychic who “sees” her neighbor get murdered and then tries to prevent it. In doing so, she makes herself a suspect.

Nick Santiago is hysterical too. He is our PI trying to also solve the murder.

These two get into some serious trouble, but constantly keep a positive attitude. I cannot wait to read more about Riley Thorn!

Riley's life is like a comedy of errors. Divorced, broke, and stuck living with a bunch of elderly roommates, her days are already filled with enough chaos. But add in her tarot card-dealing mom's insistence that her hallucinations are actually clairvoyant visions? Well, let's just say things couldn't possibly get worse... until they do.

Enter Nick Santiago, the private investigator who's as hot as he is mysterious. With a penchant for trouble and a taste for adventure, Nick doesn't exactly play by the rules. But when Riley finds herself at the center of a murder investigation, he volunteers to crack the case. Not because he's a knight in shining armor, mind you, but because he enjoys a good mystery.

What follows is a rollercoaster of laughs, twists, and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. From psychic visions to unexpected allies, "The Dead Guy Next Door" delivers a fresh take on the paranormal romance genre that left me utterly spellbound.

But it's not just the supernatural elements that shine in this gem of a book. The banter between Riley and Nick is pure gold, crackling with chemistry and wit. And let's not forget about the colorful cast of characters, from Riley's quirky neighbors to the by-the-book detective hot on their trail.

"The Dead Guy Next Door" is a delightful blend of romance, mystery, and the paranormal that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Highly recommended for readers looking for romance, mystery, and the paranormal story.

I went into this book blind not knowing what it was about so I didn't know it would have paranormal aspects to it. I thought it would be another romance book like she has written in the past. I was so wrong. But I loved it! It was laugh out loud hilarious! I loved all the various characters in the book and there were so many! I thought the paranormal aspect would turn me off but it didn't at all. I loved the banter between the two main characters, Riley and Nick. And don't get me started on the elderly roommates of Riley's! I could not put this book down. I've only ever read one other book by Lucy Score and that was Things We Never Got Over. This was so different from that. I was expecting another romance book but instead got a laugh out loud, who done it mystery with psychics who have visions and hear dead relatives, with a little spice thrown in.

I have been a Lucy Score fan for some time now - she gets me every time with the most incredible sub plots and the kind of romance that has ruined most men for me.

Riley, a psychic in pursuit of normal, living in a home off odd and oldies, finds herself working with none other than Nick Santiago to solve the murder of her next door neighbour after she has a vision of his death.

The tropes: good girl / bad boy, fake dating, no third act break up (hallelujah).

This, like all of Lucy Score’s books, is an absolute must read.

One of my absolute favorite reads of the year so far! Fake dating, murder mystery, and a dog the size of Jamaica. What else could you want?

Riley Thorn is just your average divorced woman next door. Well, and she has psychic visions, but other than that… completely normal. When Nick, the private investigator, shows up asking about someone she recently totally did not see in a vision… she starts to realize she can’t ignore her gifts any longer.

“Being who we are meant to be is not easy.”

This was a phenomenal book! I absolutely could not put this down from the moment I picked it up. From the witty banter to the hilarious fights, this romcom is a must read!

A romantic comedy with plenty of action and great characters, what's not to love? I read Things We Never Got Over and did not love it, but I'm so glad I gave Lucy Score another try. This felt like a modern Jennifer Crusie book, with great dialogue and great slow burn. And not to throw any shade but this is what I had hoped the Finley Donovan series would feel like to read. The action here was well plotted and thought out and not at all chaotic, and the humor was cute and actually funny. Sometimes you need a quick paced, quirky, light hearted, and fun book to read.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I love Lucy Score. I haven't read a book of hers that isn't amazing. You can tell this was one of her earlier works when you compare it to recent stories, but it was still good. I love her character development and the way she weaves humor, romance, and mystery together into her plots. I loved Riley and I am excited this is a series that will continue to grow.

The sparks between Riley and Nick fly off the pages. Their banter is sharp, their chemistry electric, and you'll find yourself rooting for them against all odds. Plus, the murder mystery adds an extra layer of suspense, keeping you guessing until the big reveal.

While the plot is gripping, I'll admit it can be a tad slow at times, especially if you're craving non-stop action. However, the slower moments allow for deeper character development and add richness to the story's emotional landscape.
