The Riley Thorn series has such a unique vibe. It is fun and whitty and the first one in the series does not disappoint. Riley is at a time in her life where she starts over and somewhat comes into her true self while also finding romance. Love it!

I've been in a bit of a slump so I decided to give this one a try as a genre change. Boy am I glad I did! I couldn't put this down. I loved that it was part mystery/part romance. Riley was such a fun character. I loved the added psychic aspect. It made it a really fun read. Nick was such a protective grump. I loved it. I loved all of the elderly roommates. They added comedic relief to an already pretty light story. I'm looking forward to book 2!

This book was just ok to me! I feel like it was so unnecessarily long that it just made it unenjoyable for me. Lucy Score does an amazing job with her writing and I love the way she writes ! I’m just a bit sad this wasn’t the book for me.

I am a huge fan of Lucy Score and I finally got the push to read this book and start the series. I was very hesitant to read these books because I’m not one to enjoy a series where it’s one couple throughout. This book is very different than Lucy’s other works. It’s more psychic and a bit of mystery and suspense. Once you wrap your head around the fact that you’re going for a wild ride, the fun begins! I actually loved reading how Riley accepts and learns how to use her psychic powers. All the adventures she went on were really interesting. I loved all of the people that Riley lived with. Honestly, one of the best things about this book are the hilarious and interesting characters. Nick was also a blast to read about. The relationship between Nick and Riley was super funny to read with how they pretend to be in a fake relationship. I also loved the chemistry between the two of them! This book isn’t super heavy on the romance, but you definitely get a lot of romance vibes and those kisses! Man my heart was melting. The suspense and mystery was interesting to read and I love the journey we went with Riley to uncover it!
I’m excited to read what comes next for Riley Thorn!

Apparently I do! 😂 it’s been a while since I tried a book of this type and I loved it. Riley and Nick are laugh out loud funny but even more impressive are the side characters. Riley lives in a house with a bunch of older folks and they made me crack up. The whole elderly masked vigilante scene cracked me up! Nick’s best friends/business partners are also so adorable. I loved Josie and she was amazingly terrifying 😂

Riley Thorn and The Dead Guy Next Door is a quirky and fun read! The story introduces Riley, a snarky, brave, and psychic divorcee living in a house full of hilarious elderly folks. When her neighbor is found dead, Riley teams up with the hot private investigator Nick Santiago to solve the mystery.

The characters are hilarious, especially when together, and I couldn't stop laughing. The budding relationship between Nick and Riley is sweet and engaging, and the plot twists kept me hooked. It took a few chapters to get into, but once the mystery started, I was hooked. The crazy cast of characters adds to the fun of this read. I'm definitely picking up the next book in the series!

I am embarrassed by how much I laughed while reading The Dead Guy Next Door. It is hard to find a book where the side characters are just as fun (and funny) as the main characters, but Lucy Score found the perfect formula. I also loved the heat and anticipation of what was to come between main characters Riley and Nick. The Dead Guy Next Door is perfect for fans of the tv hit show Veronica Mars or the Finlay Donovan book series.

When I learned about this series being re-released about a begrudging psychic living in an illegal boarding house full of zany elderly neighbors, I knew it was going to be right up my alley. Reminiscent of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series in the early days, this was fast paced, fun, and hilarious, with a cast of colorful characters that jumped off the page.

Riley Thorn just wants to be normal, after years of fending off psychic visions. She's at a dead end, after divorcing her cheating husband and losing her job, now working at a soul sucking proofreading position and living in a tiny bedroom in an illegal boarding house. She has a vision of shady neighbor across the hall Dickie Frick being shot, and no one is more surprised than Riley when the vision comes true. Enter bad boy PI Nick Santiago, who takes a relationship with Riley in order to gain access to the boarding house and solve the case. Together, they discover the true depths of Dickie's connections, with the help of their rag tag gang of elderly neighbors and possibly my favorite character, spiritual advisor Gabe, who may actually just be too pure for this world. Another long mystery book, this one had the quick pacing and witty banter necessary to keep it moving along and made me want to binge to find out what happened next. Only one bad guy reveal at the end felt a little forced with no real breadcrumbs leading up to it, and Nick's total 180 from playboy to committed boyfriend requires some suspension of belief, because, men. I'm super excited to dive into the rest of this series, which I know will become a favorite.

Nick Santiago is a PI and works to try and help Riley, while also playing off a fake dating trope.

I should have known this would be fantastic because Lucy Score truly can’t do any wrong.

Very cute, hilarious book. I loved it! I read it super quickly, it was engaging and the characters were well written. I loved the plot, it was so different from what I've been reading. It kept me entertained throughout!

Why have I not heard of this before now?!? This series is hilarious! The heroine, Riley, is a psychic who doesn't want to be, working in a job she hates, and paying an ex-husband she hates even more. Nick is a PI who lives like exactly the way he wants it-uncomplicated and unattached.

Nick and Riley's meet cute pulls her into the impending death of her neighbor. I loved the building romance between Nick and Riley because it was very natural. They certainly are opposites and I loved it. The mystery is great, but the hijinks are just hilarious. Finding out who murdered her neighbor and why was just part of it; then they had to figure out how to stop it! Add in the hilarious elderly roommates, Riley's "unique" family, and a by the book cop who hates Nick and you have a mystery romance with delightful humor! Seriously, I cannot recommend The Dead Guy Next Door enough!

Incredibly entertaining and silly (I say that lovingly). All the characters we meet were great and you get attached easily. I can tell this series will be different than the other books from Lucy I have read, but I am really looking forward to continuing the story!

Lucy Score is my go-to for fun, funny, and realistic writing. I liked the premise of this book with Riley Thorn, a divorced psychic, teaming up with a ladies man of a detective. The characters were well-written and developed, which I have come to expect and love of Lucy Score's books. In addition to the main characters' chemistry, the side characters made me laugh out loud. All in all, The Dead Guy Next Door is a fantastic beach read. I greatly enjoyed the mystery-romance. I plan on reading the next novels in this series.

Nick Santiago doesn't play well with others. Unless the "others" are of the female persuasion. Wink. He's a rebel, a black sheep, a man who prefers a buffet of options to being stuck with the same entrée every night, if you catch his drift. When the pretty, possibly psychic Riley lands at the top of the list of suspects, Nick volunteers to find out whodunit. Only because he likes solving mysteries not because he wants to flex his heroic muscles for the damsel in distress.

All they have to do is figure out who pulled the trigger, keep the by-the-book detective with a grudge at bay, and deal with a stranger claiming he was sent to help Riley hone her psychic gifts. All before the killer discovers she's a loose end that requires snipping.

This book is such a great start to the Riley Thorn series. I enjoyed the dynamics between Riley and Nick. This book was adorable and hilarious. I enjoyed it the entire way through. Such an easy book to read and to follow along with.

Lucy Score always writes such fun and clever stories!

I loved the dead guy next door, Riley and Nick were the cutest together. Nick is a very handsome and brooding private investigator meanwhile Riley is experiencing clairvoyant visions that she doesn’t want. I thought that it was well written, and fun! There are so many fun characters and I loved it when all the roommates got together. Their banter and camaraderie were endearing. I thought this was the perfect romcom that had a touch of humor, wackiness and also romance and I thought this is a perfect book where you get a little bit of everything. I enjoyed it a lot and cannot wait to keep reading this series.
