I just...
Another derivative of and then there were none. I can't take it anymore, truly.
Thank you to netgalley for the arc but, damn.

Freida's books are good fillers in my opinion, and One by One, is a good example. This book was OKAY, and nothing too terribly wrong with it. It was a fun, quick read, and I got to spend several hours in the woods with several flawed characters.
Here, you are following Claire and her husband as they head to a friend-cation with some of their friends. In true Freida fashion...Claire hates her husband , so nothing original there. Along the way, the van carrying everyone breaks down on this isolated dirt road in the woods. They decide to hike the remaining couple of miles to the cabin. They, of course, get lost, and "one by one", each person is killed.
For me, this was not a unique story, but a fun and decent read. The plot twist was nothing too bananas...everything was just okay. If you are a Freida McFadden fan, I would recommend. If you haven't read any of her books before, don't start with this one.

A week long camping trip with friends, some you have known for years, turns deadly. With secrets and set ups, this books will leave you wondering what the next chapter will bring!!! Another great one from Frieda McFadden!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Poisen Pen for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!!

Wow, I am having so much fun reading Freida McFadden’s books this year. They are a guaranteed good time, with an ending that I never see coming (although every single time I read her books I think I have it figured out… I most definitely do not). The twist in this one was particularly shocking that I did ABSOLUTELY NOT see coming at all, I actually gasped! I cannot wait to continue reading her books this year!

This was a superb book it was fun and scarey and exciting and just loved it.
All Freida McFadden books are great and this was no excreption and also thank netgalley for giving me an early copy of this book to read.
Four friends force themselves into a mini van for a week without children and work and to have a holiday in the wilderness.
All the friends have problems and soon they are all arguing as the van breaks down and they realise they are alone in the forest no phone water or food and they cannot find the way to their hotel.
It just gets so exciting could not put this great book down, will wait for the next book by this great author .

Thank you to Fredia McFadden and the publishing company for the opportunity to read this one early!!
ARC Review- no spoilers!
This book was a great, quick and easy read. I really like the view point jumps to bring the story full circle. I thought at one point towands the end I had the 'anonymous' character figured out, but I was so wrong! I really enjoyed this book, I feel like it could have been longer and still kept my attention and the suspense. Definalty a more towards a 4.5/5 star here!

One by One is a 'who done it' murder mystery about a group of friends who head out on a vacation together and end up getting lost in the woods. Soon enough, one by one, they start to die.
I do love most of Frieda McFadden’s thrillers but, unfortunately, this one didn't make the top of my list. The book is fast-paced and entertaining, so it's easy to binge in one setting. However, I really struggled with the characters - I found all of them immensely unlikeable.
There are definitely some big twists at the end but, ultimately, I felt this one lacked a solid punch.

Another fun and fast read by Freida! Six people headed to a remote cabin when the car dies...what could go wrong? Did not guess this one! Lots of twisty stories and ending. Please keep them coming (fortunately she's fast!)

Wow! Super suspenseful!
Three couples head off for a weekend away and one by one, they are killed. But by who? Well, by the anonymous character narrating some of the chapters and as the story progresses, I changed my mind constantly about which one of the six that person was.
The characters were really well written and each one had some kind of drama going on, either in their present or their past, which provided lots of red herrings and twisty moments. When the big reveal came, I was stunned! It was absolutely not what I was expecting.
A brilliant read!
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is the 5th book that I have read from Freida McFadden. It was good but not my favorite. I was able to read it pretty quickly as it was a shorter book. I was definitely hooked like I normally am with her books because I just know she is gonna have a crazy plot twist at the end. In this book you have a group of friends headed out on vacation to a inn located in the wilderness. The main female character has a weird feeling that something bad will happen on this trip and she is not wrong. They get stranded on the way to their hotel and are forced to walk on foot but soon find themselves lost. One by one as the title alludes to, the friends start disappearing. Something or someone seems to be hunting them. Again I thought I could figure out who was behind everything but I was wrong. Definite plot twist at the end.

Three couples are going on a vacation together. On their way to the hotel their car breaks down. They must hike through the woods to find help. Navigating their way doesn’t come easy and they end up lost. Then one by one they start to mysteriously go missing.
This was not my favorite Freida book but it was still an enjoyable quick read.

i want to thank the publishers and netgalley for giving me the chance to read this for an honest review.
2 stars. here's why.
i'm a big freida mcfadden fan. i've read 4 of her books, and enjoyed each one, but this one fell very flat.
i disliked every character except lindsey who literally died 1/3 of the way through. noah and claires relationship issues felt very real, but i felt like i was being told instead of being shown.
the twist is one i saw coming from a mile away. no shock factor whatsoever.
the 'anonymous' POV is the only reason i'm giving this book 2 stars, because those parts of the book were interesting at least.

Freida McFadden keeps churning out these cheesy thrillers and I keep reading them because sometimes I just want to escape with a mindless bit of fun. This book fits the bill. If you are looking for a quick read that has a few twists and turns (even if they are a bit unbelievable) you will enjoy this books about three couples who get stranded in the Colorado wilderness and start dying off one by one.

This was probably my least favorite of the Frieda McFadden books that I've read, not because I didn't like it, I did, but just cause it wasn't as suspenseful as the others. I didn't get the full depth of what was going on, but I figured out the culprit early on (though I did second guess myself a few times along the way). Still a great book, but I didn't get the "what the heck just happened" feeling I've gotten from other books of hers.

If you are looking for a book that will hold your attention while keeping you in suspense this is one for you! McFadden knows how to weave various story lines into one another and create a masterpiece. You will follow 3 "couples" on a journey for a getaway that goes terribly wrong. You will often think that you know who the bad guys is, only to find out that you are wrong!

Quick fun read. This book is filled with constant tricks and turns that keep you guessing. It’s very entertaining so you can fly through this book.

One by One by Freida McFadden is the author’s upcoming thriller novel surrounding a group of 6 people who are friends going on a road trip. Due to their car breaking down they are stranded and lost in a remote location and then one by one they start to die. Sounds familiar right?? I know!!!
So, this is one author whose writing I enjoy a lot but my last few reads were not that great. This one was a better experience, but I can't say that it was completely mind-blowing. I loved the setup, the tension built with these people stuck in a remote area fighting for survival, and the different characters, everyone being unreliable, which strikes up the suspense. What was a letdown was the climax having great similarity with another very popular novel around the same theme even though it had additional twists so that surprise reveal was somewhat not that high. Readers who are completely new to this setup will find the reveal shocking though and would really enjoy it.
One more fact I felt in the story was that there were places where a lot of information was provided, and build-up was done but there was neither proper explanation nor enough crumbs were provided so the readers could understand on their own. The story overall was enjoyable, and the final climax made sense logically, It may not be surprising for me but honestly at this point I don’t expect thrillers to surprise me also.
Thank you @netgalley and @ for the netgalley arc.

This is a quick-paced, FUN read! I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. While the characters drove me crazy with their decisions, I still kept wanting to find out what was going to happen next. It wasn’t the best book by her, but it was a fun read! I will say I definitely didn’t see the twist coming, and I loved the ending!

Still not as good as Never Lie, but this was a pretty good book by Frieda McFadden. I feel like her back log of books that is being republished is better than her new stories. I haven't been a fan of the new books, but her old books that I am coming across seem like they are great thrillers. This one kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next. I loved the setting seeming like a locked room mystery, yet they were in the open woods.

Frida McFadden did it again. This book is addicting. I could not put it down. The story just sucks you in. Claire is dynamic and her voice carries the story. The unknown voice also adds a lovely narrative letting you see inside the killer’s head. You know that truths are being reviled but you never quite know how they are going to play out. Is everything really as it seems. Never with Frida. I cannot express how much I love this author. Each book I read from her becomes a favorite. I am truly excited to recommend this book to patrons and friends alike.
Thank you so much to Poisoned Pen Press and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.
