Freida McFadden's book are all extremely fast paced, this was no exception. I did not guess the end completly, although i had my suspisions of a certain character who turned out to be even more messed up than i thought possible. I was defintly feeling very WTF by the end but that is what makes it a great book.

I’m confused how I got this as an advance reader copy in 2024 when I read this book in 2021. This was my first read by this author, and not my favorite. But I think it was independently published when I read it, maybe?

Classic Frieda. I’ve grown really fond of the quick thrillers. They’re usually super fast paced and easy to finish in a sitting or two. This one is no different. Easy read, great pacing, interesting plot!

Not everyone is who you think they are...

Jezus! What the fuck did I just read?? This was actually so good! I don't know why I waited so long to read this book. It had me guessing till the end and I'm still in shock with that plot! This was also my first Freida McFadden book but definitely not the last.
Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this arc

This book was all about the action. It's actually my first foray into the Freida McFadden world. I would have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. I liked it but I couldn't say I loved it.

Fast paced, quick and enjoyable, I liked it but I didn't love it. It was a little underwhelming in my opinion. The plot twist didn't leave me gasping for air like I like. Would still recommend especially as a palate cleanser

This is one of those books you won’t want to put down. I can never say no to a locked room murder mystery. One by One is a fast twisty thriller that has you suspecting everyone.

Frieda McFadden has done it again! She is absolutely one of my favourite authors, I will read anything she writes! I read this one in 2 days, it was such a thriller quick read that kept me wanting me right up until the end.

Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been enjoying this author for several months but one thing I have noticed is that all of the stories follow similar set ups. Which may just be how thrillers are in general. I loved reading this and will continue to look for the next story that is published!

Everyone talks so highly of Freida McFadden so since I got one of her books on NetGalley I thought I would give it a try. I can definitely say after reading this book that I do not see why people are so in love with her. I am sorry and I'm sure I will get hate for this but I was not blown away by this story. Maybe because I watch crime shows a lot but I saw the big twist coming from about half way through the story. There was a small twist I didn't see coming but nothing major. I do think she has great writing but there were some major boring parts. It was one of her smaller books and still seemed too long by the end.

I am an avid Frieda Readah!! I know this one had been published already but I had not had a chance to read it. So, when I saw it on NetGalley, I could not pass up the opportunity to potentially review it! I give it a 4.5/5. I can't give anything away but the plot twist had me sitting up straight in my bed and thinking of every moment that led up to it 😂. I would absolutely recommend this to someone who wants something that they can read in one sitting (because I did!) because it is fast-paced!

I was completely captivated by "One by One" by Frieda McFadden. The suspenseful plot grabbed me from the first page and never let go, while the isolated, snow-covered cabin created a chilling, claustrophobic atmosphere that kept me on edge. Each character was intricately developed, revealing secrets and complexities that added depth and intrigue. McFadden's masterful writing and the relentless twists made this a heart-pounding and exhilarating read that I couldn't put down.

Freida McFadden continues to deliver. I thoroughly enjoyed her latest release, One by One. The plot was interesting and intense. I could not put this book down and read it in one afternoon. Well done!

Three couples head off to a luxurious hotel in the woods. It's just what they need - a break from work and raising children and the pressures of real life. A chance to spend time considering their relationships and whether some marriages are damaged beyond repair. But on their way there, on a lonely dirt road, their minivan breaks down. With no cell reception, the group has no choice but to walk the rest of the way to their remote accommodation. But the forest is dark and difficult to navigate and, hours later, they are lost. Hopelessly lost.

As they venture deeper into the woods, the members of their party are struck down mysteriously, one by one. Are they being hunted? And by what—or who? How well do they all really know each other after all?

I really enjoyed this book! It was a quick read and kept my attention. I liked hearing the perspective of Claire, one of the group, and considering the issues from her point of view. I thought a few parts of the story were just a little unrealistic, like the twist at the end coming a little out of left field, but overall, it was pretty good and lept me invested in finding out what was going on.

Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this Advanced Reader Copy; all opinions are my own.

A fun popcorn thriller whose ending gave me goosebumps! This was a page-turner that was easy to dive into and which kept me guessing. The anonymous chapters were highly entertaining.

I enjoyed the classic whodunit format of isolated setting + people getting bumped off one by one + the killer being among the group. Simple yet riveting.

The reveal definitely took me by surprise, but I found the motive and climax (such a short scene!) underwhelming. Hats off to the last chapter!

Another hit my Freida! I’ve truly not found an author whose books i enjoy as much as Freida’s. This book had my guessing until the very end! We need a sequel
