Freida's latest had me hooked all night. The story of six friends on a getaway is full of surprises, with alternating chapters keeping me guessing. A solid 4.5 stars - didn't want it to end! Thanks, Freida, for another great read. Special thanks to Poison Pen Publishing for the early copy!

Frieda McFadden does it again with another gripping “who dun it” page turner. Twisty ending and plot had my head spinning trying to figure out who “Anonymous” was.

I was not fond of this one. It came to a brutal halt with it not lasting long enough for me. Kinda predicted the gender of the anonymous person but not who they were.

Will keep reading books by author.

thanks NetGalley for ARC.

Another great mystery from Freida McFadden!

I love this author and all her books! I was not expecting the twists! Loved it! The part that dragged was the not noticing the woods staying the same, it would have been hard to miss that while walking for days.

This book was full of suspense. Reminded me of the movie wrong turn at first. 6 people in the woods and people are getting killed off one by one- definitely what nightmares are made of.

I was completely surprised by who the killer was. The whole time we get the killer’s point of view too & it was very hard to tell who it was. Once I found out, I was shocked but also kind of wished it was someone else.

I find it so hard to review thrillers without giving away spoilers, so I will just say this is a very quick read and will definitely have you on the edge of your seat.

I love reading Freida McFadden's books because my adult kids are loving them and they're always so eager to talk about them when I'm done reading. We've even got my husband listening to them!

I read/listened to One by One in just one day. I just had to know what was going to happen to Claire and her friends out in the woods! Quick and easy read if you'd like a little suspense in your life!

I received a copy of this book for review. All opinions are my own.

One by one they definitely go! Loved this story! The betrayal, the twist this book took. Obviously like other Freida books she keeps you guessing. The moment you think you got it figured out, boom! You don't! Such a page turner, finished in 5 hours. Highly recommend!

Another solid thriller from Freida McFadden. If you enjoy her other books, you are sure to like this one. It's fun, with plenty of twists and turns leading to a slow reveal.

Freida has done it again with a unique story of twists. I didnt know who to trust and had many guesses which were all wrong. Great writing and a gripping book that I will definitely recommend.

One by One by Frieda McFadden left me very conflicted. It started off slow and I was able to guess the bad guy almost right away, but I found it to be easy to read and once it got started I was drawn in. I do wish the ending went a little more in depth, as it felt rushed to me. Overall, it was an intriguing story. I will be looking into more McFadden novels in the future.

WOW this book hooked me from the very first page and kept me on the edge of my seat! The plot was super suspenseful and crazy, and I very much enjoyed it and enjoyed trying to figure out who the killer was (I had a lot of theories, and some of them ended up being true!).

The one thing I did not like is that the main character is being unfaithful to her husband at the beginning of the book. You don’t see anything explicit on the page, but it is referred to repeatedly. I don’t like the cheating/infidelity trope, but I was satisfied with how everything worked out in the end.

Freida McFadden consistently dazzles, crafting stories that are both gripping and exhilarating. I'm utterly captivated by her work and can't seem to get my fill of her novels! "One by One" was an absolute standout, delivering the trademark McFadden twist that left me breathless. It's yet another testament to why she holds a top spot on my list of favorite authors. Big thanks to NetGalley for the ARC, and an even bigger shoutout to Freida McFadden and her team for giving me the chance to dive into this thrilling tale!

One By One was an easy bingeable popcorn thriller. I was hooked from the beginning to a little over halfway, I couldn't stop reading. Then for whatever reason it lost my interest a little. The twist did redeem itself, but it was not my favorite Freida read.

The characters were highly unlikeable, I did not like any of them, they were all liars, cheaters and manipulators. It was truly hard to root for any of them, which made me not care for any of their survival. I did not trust any of them.

I did enjoy the atmosphere and the creepiness factor of being stranded in the woods. It did add the chill factor to the story. I was definitely shocked by that final twist which is what redeemed the book for me. Overall a fun ride.

6 people
6 days
6 person minivan
666 is the number of the devil. And so it begins ...

This was a quick, fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Six people start off on what should be an east journey and it ends up anything but. Chapters alternate between Claire and “Anonymous”. Anonymous is the problem, but we don’t yet know who that is. I guessed only part of the end. I thought Claire was a bit whiny, not the sharpest pencil in the box. I found most of the characters likable and one character I wanted to shoot myself. The pace was steady, but started a bit slow. Overall, I liked the book and I’d recommend it if you aren’t looking for a complex, intellectual thriller.

This was just okay. It was fast paced just like I like Freida's books. There is always a good plot twist, unreliable characters, and crazy situationships! Sometimes I couldn't believe these were actual adults. Overall, just okay.

This book takes you to a corner of Colorado that is far from civilization but close to coyotes, bears and bugs. A weeklong hiking trip for a group of six friends is already off to a bad start when the minivan they are traveling in breaks down on them when they are on a dirt road but still far from their destination, without cell service what can they do but walk ... but things go downhill from there ... As they walk through the dense forest trying to find their way back to civilization the members of their party are mysteriously disappearing one by one.
‚One By One' is an amazing spine-tingling psychological thriller with chapters narrated alternately by Claire and a person known only as , Anonymous' who intends for five of their party to die before the week is over. From the start there's suspense, intrigue, shocks and surprises galore as their party members disappear and I was unable to stop reading until the twists and turns have revealed the identity of the anonymous person - needless to say I was on the wrong track. This is an excellent thriller that's brilliantly written that I couldn't put down and read in under twenty-four hours. I have no hesitation recommending it.

I absolutely love Frieda McFadden. I swear this girl can do know wrong. My love for her started with The Locked Door and had me hooked with The Housemaid series. This book was no different from her others by grabbing me from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what twists she had planned for me and I WASN'T disappointed. I felt like this was a well written book with character depth. I found this to be a fast paced thriller and didn't want to put it down. I would HIGHLY recommend this book and her others.

Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

Really good job Freida! I love that this story is unique. Six people head out on a trip. I thought I knew who “Anonymous” was but then changed my mind but ultimately was still wrong. Very fast and enjoyable read.

As a Freida book lover I was immediately engaged at the start of this book. This book follows our main character, Claire and her husband Noah who have kind of plateaued in their marriage and are off for a relaxing weekend cabin trip away from their kids with two other couples, however it is anything but a relaxing weekend. After their car breaks down they have no choice but to walk to the cabin and the six of them get lost in the woods. To no surprise, one by one they are dropping off.

The chapters are written in Claire’s point of view as well as an anonymous person, which is something I always enjoy in thrillers. It allows the reader to guess until the end. This was honestly not what I expected and had a few twists that I enjoyed. It did get a little slow in the middle for me, but overall it was a capturing and twisty thriller.
