Steamy Shifter Romance With An Action Packed Plot

This one was fun! It has all the feels and angsty vides that you get with pnr romance combined with the action of an urban fantasy. Think Annette Marie’s Guild Codex (with a less complicated magic system) meets Celia Kyle shifter romance.
The MCs both have deep backstories and motivations so even though there’s explosive chemistry between them, al la fated mates instalove goodness, they take their time to work through it and develop their romantic relationship. So if you’re a fated mates junkie like me then you’ll love this one.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I really enjoyed this book despite starting on number 2 in a series!

Luna, the female lead, is a human artist who dreams about and has art that is heavily influenced by wolves.

Kade is the male lead of our story, and one of three immortal wolves. He ends up finding Luna through one of her paintings at an Art Gallery.

The book drops you instantly into the action and you are swept along for the ride- the banter and conversations between the two leads was incredibly engaging. I loved how much their relationship grow as they literally fought for their lives and to get answers they desperately need and find a solution that keeps them safe, alive, and together.

I’m actually really excited to jump back to the first book! While these can be read as standalone books, now I WANT to dive into all of them!

A pleasing read. I found the opening scenes grabbed my attention with Kade meeting Luna at the art gallery and seeing the Wolf painting. I also liked the dream connection they have. My only issue was that the story dragged a good deal in the middle and I didn't see a significant emotional connection between Kade and Luna beyond lust.
The few chapters were fast-paced and very exciting where Luna and Kade have to fight for their lives. A nail-biting end.

This series just keeps getting better and better. While I already knew I could expect good things from this author, this series exceeded my expectations.

Kade is the Gray Wolf from the title and he was already dragged into the mage drama of the last book, but if this is your first book that’s probably OK too! He knows that there is something at play, pairing off lone wolves with their seemingly fate mates. Are they actually fated if an evil mage made it that way? It kind of doesn’t matter because the sizzle is off the charts between them. Luna is a bit of a loner herself and she runs into Kade at the art studio she works at. They are drawn to one another, but in truly paranoid fashion, he does a deep dive on her past before meeting up again.

These two are both hesitant, but willing to take the leap when bigger danger is going after them. This book also had a lot of broker action, who was already a mysterious figure in the previous book and hopefully gets all those mysteries answered in the next one. While we get a bit of wrap-up in this installment, there is definitely a storm brewing for the final lone wolf. Can’t wait to see where this series takes us next!

I liked this book alot. We didn't get to see a ton about the Gray or Black wolves in the 1st book.

This one does suffer a bit like the first, there is alot going on but it is still slow. The number of times the characters barely escape death is numerous. So much happens in the dreamworld, it got a little confusing.

I did love the Black wolf's brief interactions. He was a fun little bit and I can't wait for his book next.

This is book two of the series. Kade a lone wolf, one of three who has lived his whole life alone. Someone is hunting them. Kade meets a girl who he is immediately pulled to. They soon find out that there is others at play in their love, and are using Luna to capture him. This second book is full of surprises and answers. It brings more information about the 3 lone wolfs and who is hunting them. So excited for the next one!

I do like N.J. Walters's books. She really writes great paranormal romance. Saving the Gray Wolf was another fun read. I missed the first book in the Lone Wolf Legacy series and while I'm sure the extra back story would have been nice to have it was not needed. The story works on its own.

These lone wolves have it hard. No friends, no allies, no pack and their entire job is to hunt and kill the worst of their species. It's OK though. Kade is all in. What he never saw coming was a fated mate in Luna. Luna has no idea the paranormal isn't just fantasy in books. Haunted her entire life by a gray wolf who finds its way into her art, she has no idea Kade and his ilk are real. Or even that her dream wolf is also a man. Imagine both of their surprise when fate puts them in each other's paths.

I like the characters, the intense conflicts and the journey in this book. I really wanted to see Kade and Luna find their answers, defeat evil together, and find their happily ever after.

I look forward to whatever Walters has next.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

I need more werewolf romance in my life! I haven’t read book 1 but I was still able to follow along with the plot!

While I mostly enjoyed this, it wasn't anywhere near as much as I did the first one. Somehow this one just seemed to drag for me. For a rather large chunk of the book. And it got really tedious hearing over and over how perfect and amazing Luna was. It was also frustrating how often these two did or said something stupid because of their distrust of other people. Like, I get it. But at the same time, you're either going to trust this person or not. Stop going back and forth.

I had actually expected Kade to have met up with the white wolf at the start of this book, but nope. Kade was distracted by his own pull leading him to an art gallery and to a painting of him in his wolf form. He's lucky enough to meet the artist right away and both him and his wolf are immediately taken by her. Kade tries to maintain a certain amount of distrust considering they have people after them now, but his wolf is having none of that. He believes every word out of her mouth and can't wait to claim her. Plus, Kade always feels bad whenever he says something remotely not nice to Luna.

I think we're supposed to feel bad for Luna because her parents are famous people and, while she was showered with anything she could ask for and has more money than she can spend, they were never there for her. Boohoo? For whatever reason, that led her to not trust anybody and to not let anyone get too close to her. But when she meets Kade, despite him giving off all the vibes for her to stay far away, he's the first one she calls when she feels she's in trouble.

The evil mage is back (I cannot for the life of me remember her name) and when Luna's boss introduces the two of them she marks Luna with a tracking spell. And this is one painful spell. So a good chunk of the book is actually spent trying to find another mage that can help remove it and then the two of them trying to find somewhere safe to bed down for a bit. Maybe do something else in that bed as well. They don't get much time to recover before they are found and Luna is quite easily kidnapped. Thanks to the connection these two share in their sleep, Kade is able to find her but their escape is not easy. Things happen and Kade finds himself taking Devlin's advice of just trusting his wolf to save their mate.

It wasn't until the very end when these two lone wolves finally meet, and honestly, it wasn't quite the meeting I was hoping for but it could have been worse. What made up for it was the twist we get at the end. That was really good and has me looking forward to the next book for sure.

Love these wolves. Cannot wait for the black wolfs story. This was Kade aka The gray wolf, and Lunas story. Is Luna innocent or part of the deception, this is Kades question! Can he protect her and his heart as well? Adventure, suspense and love, a bit for everyone!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.

Alone at fifteen after become the legendary Lone Gray Wolf, Kade has lived the solitary life. At times it pleased him, but after becoming bored with nameless encounters Kade keeps to himself. It’s hard when wolf packs look at you with fear, and humans know there is something dangerous about you.
But after being contacted by the White Wolf. Kade is on the lookout for a certain person….

Legend has it there is only one wolf living until it dies then another will take its place. The job of the Lone Wolf is to patrol the wolf packs and take out the rogues that threaten there the exposure to the humans. But in this time and place there are three!! Why?

The White/Gray/Black Wolves don’t like or trust one another, but after finding out they aren’t on their own the White wolf reached out to both black and Gray, only Kade has replied so far, neither have heard back from the Black wolf yet!

Kade is in New York after his inner voice (or as Kade likes to think it’s his wolf) leads him here. He’s found his prey, he just has to make contact and work out if she’s an innocent or part of the plot to claim his immortality!

Luna has lived on her own since eighteen, but truth be told she’s been on her own a lot longer….. Her parents are a famous actress and film director, so don’t have time to play happy families. Her only solace from the loneliness is her art. Her drawings and paintings give her comfort and joy, previous relationships have been brief (they complain she spends too much time with her art!)

When Kade and Luna meet, it’s like two magnets beings drawn together, no one exists but them….

Her wolf from her childhood is actually Kade! But how? She’s drawn and painted the wolf so many times, and her dreams never showed him in human form.

Connected now (although Kade still doesn’t trust Luna fully) they are on the run from forces that want him dead! And Luna maybe become a casualty!

Fast paced and full of action. And the romance is at a medium burn.

You don’t really need to read the first book, but as it’s a trilogy and an ongoing story, it’s probably a good idea to read it, I haven’t, but I’ll probably go back and read it as I really enjoyed the book.

So can Luna and Kade evade the witch and her protector long enough to work out who it is, what they want and how to combat it?

But more importantly can Luna and Kade stay together if they survive? As Luna is human and Kade is an immortal wolf…..

This book is the second in a series and is told in third person POV. That, itself, might be why I didn’t connect with this story as strongly as I might have had it been first person POV.
Things that I liked about this read included the dream realm, the protectiveness that Luna felt, and of course the relationship that the man (Kade) and his wolf. I love in wolf shifter stories when the wolf and the man are not always on the same term.
If you like protective alphas and a peek into broader story line, then this is for you.

This wasn’t the first book in the series — do not fear. I was able to catch on quickly and easily reading this one on its own.

I fell head over heels in love with Kade and Luna immediately, the draw of their bond as whimsical as the looming danger in which their story takes place in their broad universe. The struggle to trust was there every step of the way and it paid off by the very end of the novel.

This book is absolutely on the shorter side of things as far as my reading pace and by all means: I wasn’t ready for this to end!! I would’ve loved to see the ending pulled out a little, the pace was rather quick towards the end. The high heat was enjoyable and the chemistry between the two main characters here was hot like molten lava.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NJ Walters for the eARC!

Before getting to the meat of the story, I have to say that I don't love this cover. I get that there is an entire genre of romance novels with covers like this, especially older books, but I've appreciated the turn towards more neutral covers on romances. For one thing, as a romance reader, I appreciate picturing the romantic lead for myself and often find the cover model to be more of a distraction than anything else. For another, let's be honest, people do judge a book by its cover and I don't really want to sit on the subway with this book. But on to the actual review!

I somehow missed the first book in this series, but it speaks well of the author's abilities that I was quickly able to orient myself not only with this world but also with the larger over-arching threat that is being built up. I love romance books like this where there is a grander scale threat that serves as a background for, essentially, stand-alone romance novels with different couples in each.

I really liked both of the characters in this, both Kade and Luna (though this name is a bit too on the nose for me with a werewolf book). I enjoyed both of their POV chapters, as each overcomes their difficulties trusting others and slowly come to believe in the bond growing between them. My biggest complaint of the book, probably, is the fact that it's so short. I was enjoying it enough that I wish we had had a bit more time to flesh out these characters even more. Coming in under 300 pages does put this one on the shorter side, and I think a bit more time could have been given to allow the story to grow more naturally. Towards the end, it began to all feel a bit rushed, which was too bad.

Overall, I enjoyed this romance novel. I've read a bunch of vampire books recently, and it was nice to return to werewolves (typically, my favorite of the two). I'll probably go back and try to read the first book in the series and will be on the look out for the next.

I've enjoyed NJ Walters, but I have to admit, this series is not my favorite. The two books so far have insta-love and overprotective wolf shifters. I feel the FMC in this one is a little annoying, though. There is an overarching story for the trilogy, so I recommend starting with the first so you learn all of the backstory. Like with her other series, this one has lots of action and spicy times.

This was a fast-paced read and is book 2 in the series - This is a standalone within the series. The author does a great job, however, of interconnecting the characters and their stories without too many spoilers for previous books.

Kade is in town following a hunch or maybe more like a draw from his wolf that leads him to Luna
Who may possibly be in cahoots with two very bad people who wish to steal his immortality
He wants to walk away but she calls to his wolf

Luna knows how the male species works. She's been down that road before and intended never to travel it again.
But there is just something about Kade. Maybe it is that feeling of knowing him. Or perhaps how he reflects all the qualities of her dream wolf.

This is an insta attraction, fated mates, high heat, lots of twists and suspense with a touch of mystery paranormal romance that will keep any reader engaged and entertained

This paranormal romance is part of a series. While each book can be read separately, I personally think it is better to read them in order. That way you get a better understanding of the characters involved and the rules of the world they line in.
Our hero is a lone wolf one of only three in the world. They exist to protect both humans and other werewolves from the rogues.
Our heroine is an artist who has had an unusual and lonely life. She will need every ounce of strength to survive what is to come.
A sexy and magical rollercoaster full of battles and so fast paced our characters hardly get time to draw breath.
I loved it.

this is my first time reading N. J. Walter’s. I love a good shifter romance, and this was a fun read. it was fast paced, easy to follow the history of the world, had a tense & magic fueled underlying mystery, and was sprinkled throughout with plenty of steamy moments.

Things start happening pretty quickly for our mc’s, Kade and Luna. he’s a lone wolf. a solitary and powerful predator who exists on the fringes of shifter normal society known as the Gray Wolf. he’s lethal, but has enemies who’’d like nothing more than to see him hurt. she’s an ordinary human who lives a quiet life, working at an art gallery and painting on the side. her artwork is inspired by dreams and the strong connections she feels to them, and they always feature one thing: a gray wolf.

from the minute these two meet, they feel that connection pulling them together, even if they’d rather it wouldn’t. I love the tension and chemistry they share, almost as much as I love Kade’s instinctive need to protect Luna. and she holds her own against him and the forces fighting against them. I was rooting for these two from the beginning & I loved seeing them fight for their HEA.
