Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. When Kade, the gray wolf, sees the picture of his wolf at a gallery, he wants to meet the artist, Luna, but he has a job to do. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting romance story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, N.J. Walters!

This is the second in the Lone Wolf Legacy series
With danger, magic and mysteries,
Alongside romance, shifters and their mates
And unforeseen twists of fate.

With three lone wolves, white, gray and black
Who are the perpetrators of their attack?
Other wolves have tried
And died.

This story has the infamous Gray
Being drawn to visit an Art Gallery one day.
A painting there shows his wolf, but how?
Then he meets the artist and - WOW!

Attraction could lead to romance
If only they dare give it a chance
But there's also black magic, plots and schemes,
Along with vivid shared dreams.

A page turner paranormal romantic suspense
Epitomising throughout by feelings that are tense.
A brilliant sequel that will work alone, too,
A great read, all the way through.

Another enthralling read for this author who
Makes fantasy so believable it feels like its true!
For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.

As a lover of all things omegaverse, I knew I would at least like this book, but man this blew me away, much more than I expected it to.

I loved the way these two characters were written. They had a natural chemistry that was way more than believable. It flowed so effortlessly between the two of them, so much that I never questioned how perfectly they were for each other.

The story was so captivating. I couldn’t put the book down, it had me wanting more with every new page I read. I’m pretty sure I finished this in one sitting, it was that good.

Considering I’ve read many omegaverse type books and stories, this one was so original in its storyline. I loved the originality that was so evident in it. I highly recommend picking up this book if you love omegaverse stories, with sassy heroines and swoon worthy hero’s. Thank you N.J. Walter’s and NetGalley for the opportunity to explore this universe.

This book dives right in after the story of the white wolf in the first one. I love that this is part of a trilogy but can also be read as a standalone. I loved Kade and Luna and their relationship. This book not only has romance but also adventure, mystery, magic, wolf shifters, and conspiracy. The story pulled me in from the first page and kept me Interested until the end. This is a face paced, easy read and I can’t wait to finish the series with the black wolf!

I love that you can read this book as a stand alone but it also ties in with some of the author’s other books. “Was it real or magic?” Protecting The Gray Wolf will have you interested from the first chapter! This book has it all. A little romance, a little suspense, wolves, mages, and more.

I was honestly surprised how fast I was sucked into this story. You are dropped into the action very quickly and NJ Walters' writing is so easy and smooth. I have a hard time getting into some romances because of the almost awkward or "cringe" writing, but this was so good. Felt more like "romantasy" to me. The plot was good and the spice was really well done, not over the top or too graphic. Urban setting, but the shifter worldbuilding and added magic component made it interesting. I did not read the first book, but was completely fine reading this one without it. I will, however, go back and read the first now. Looking forward to reading more by Walters. 5/5 romance. Thank you to NJ Walters and Entangled Publishing for giving me a chance to read this book

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the gifted copy!
This shifter thriller and romance was overall a good read. For those who enjoy a magical element to their shifter novels you'll love this one as one of the main villains is a mage seeking the lone wolves for immortality.
Overall this was a good read, but I had trouble getting through the climax fight. It seemed overly long and we went back and forth running place to place, questioning loyalty, it didn't feel like they developed feelings until during the fight. The spice wasn't very high either. I really enjoyed the lore behind the lone wolf and would like to see that developed further in the next book.

Protecting the Gray Wolf
Lone Wolf Legacy #2
N.J. Walters

Kade is used to other wolves coming after him. They like to see if they are the one wolf who will have bragging rights to take out The Gray Wolf, but lone wolves are different. They are stronger, faster, deadlier, meaner, and did I mention that they are also immortal?

That also means that Kade is alone. He has no pack and no alpha. There are only three of them white, gray, and black. But with power-hungry mages coming after them, none of them have the luxury of time or anything else for that matter. They are in New York City, and you can bet your last dollar that he will be there hunting them down.

That's when he sees Luna and every cell in his body is on alert, filled with a longing he never knew he was even capable of. Luna may be human, but there's something there. Something that calls to him.
Call it destiny or fate. Maybe even animal hunger. Either way, his body says she is his.

I know that she is supposed to be the bait, but Kade feels so strongly towards her that there is no way he could or would want to stop what comes next. Well, maybe some of it. She's meant to tempt him and make him get caught, but there is more. So much more.

N.J. Walters is on fire. This author knows how to write a good book. This book kept me captivated from the moment I started reading until the very last word was read. Heck, I still can't stop thinking of it! This book has twists and turns you will not see coming. Thank you for writing another fabulous book, Ms. Walters.

Protecting the Gray Wolf is the second book in the Lone Wolf Legacy paranormal romance series, and it’s as exciting, entertaining, and romantic as the first. I loved Kade and Luna’s love story and the suspenseful over-arching story. Kade and Luna find themselves thrust into a dangerous plot against the three lone wolves, and it’s non-stop intensity as they learn more about their enemies and their unique connection.

N.J. Walters writes such immersive romances, and I got completely sucked into this story. I loved how fiercely protective Kade was and how deeply he fell for Luna. And Luna is such a compelling protagonist with an interesting backstory. I really felt for her when learning about the lonely life she led and how deeply affected she was by her parents’ neglectful behavior. It’s interesting because even though they’ve lived completely different lives and have had entirely different experiences, Luna and Kade soon realize that they are very much alike. They understand each other on a soul-deep level, and there’s such a strong bond between them. Both of them are truly alone and lonely, which makes their connection even more special.

And their romance is fabulous! It’s sweet and steamy, and though it has an insta-love feel to it, there’s also a slow-burn feel too. There are some major trust issues and some doubt as to the legitimacy of their feelings that both have to work through. I have to say, the antagonists in this one really put Kade and Luna through tons of physical danger and a lot of emotional turmoil as well! Through it all, they have amazing chemistry and some fantastic banter.

Though it’s the second in the series, I think it can be read as a standalone. That being said, the main characters from the first book have secondary roles in this one, which was fantastic. They’re both amazing characters, and I enjoyed seeing them again. Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Luna has been drawing grey wolves for as long as she can remember. Not multiple grey wolves, no, the exact same one. A man enters the art studio where she is working and sees her painting of the grey wolf and wants it. Is willing to pay the outrageous price tag of $20,000. Because it’s him. It’s his wolf.
Kade knows Luna is somehow special to him so he follows her home. They meet in a dream. Somehow they are having the exact same dream.

I’m not usually one for fantasy stories, but I felt like this one was really good.

I love a good werewolf romance and this one was just as good as I was expecting it to be. I didn’t read the white wolf book first, but I didn’t feel lost while reading it despite not having read the first one. I loved the lore and world building that was unfolding on the page and the mate concept for this book was fairly unique compared to the general werewolf mate book. This was a fast paced werewolf romance with action, espionage, secret identities, romance, steamy sex, and even death! But it had me never wanting to put it down. The back stories on how the lone wolf came to be was very well executed and this book definitely stands out against other werewolf romance books. I highly recommend this book if you like fast paced werewolf romances with a little bit of danger and a great kidnapped rescue scene.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

This is the second book of the trilogy of Lone Wolf Legacy. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend that you read the first book. It will give you more information on the other characters and help by giving you some background information. Also, because it’s just as amazing as this book.

The plot in this book is to find the person that is or could be responsible for the lone wolves being attacked and linking them to a human that is their mate. It has action, drama, romance, and a sexy shifter!!! This book had me on my toes, wanting to know what was going to happen next and how they would be getting out of the situation that they found themselves in a few times. I thought the world building was done great, the characters were well developed and had some great growth.

Kade is a softy that is wrapped up in one hunk of a body. He is caring, he thinks of others and will do what he can to make sure that the world is a safer place to live for humans and wolves. He knows that this woman that he cannot get out of his mind is most likely a trap by the ones that want to kill him or the other lone wolves for their powers, but he will do whatever he can to make sure that he is safe, as well as the human Luna as well.

Luna, wow what an amazing woman she is. At first, she didn’t know what to think or even believe when a filthy rich man walks into the Gallery she works in and buys the painting that she did of a gray wolf. At first, she is not willing to part with the painting but when he is willing to pay way above the asking price, who is she to turn it down. However, she was not ready for the magic that happens later that night in her dreams and finding out more later on, all she knows is that she will not be a pawn in someone’s magical schemes. She is all in and ready to kick some magical butts.

I think N.J. Walters is an amazing writer that knows how to grab the readers with her words and brings them a little fantasy with her amazing paranormal romance books. I know I cannot wait to read book 3 when it comes out. I have to know how the black wolf will be handling everything.

I want to thank NetGalley and Entangled publishing for the opportunity to review this book.

RATING 4.5 STARS

Protecting the Gray Wolf is book two in the Lone Wolf Legacy series by N.J. Walters. When I read the first book in this series, Taming the White Wolf, I fell madly in love with this world and these characters. I have been so excited to meet the Gray wolf and the woman who was destined to be his mate, and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait to tell you a little bit about it.

Kade Alvarez knew as soon as he made his first transition to a wolf at age fifteen that he wasn’t like other wolves. He was one of the fabled Lone Wolves, a wolf that would have no pack, no family, and would spend his immortal existence roaming the world, acting as both judge and executioner of rogue wolves who senselessly kill, putting both other wolves and humans in danger. Kade is now about one hundred years old. He’s been drawn to New York, to an art studio, although he doesn’t know why. Until he sees her.

Historically there has always only been one lone wolf in existence at a time. But now there are three, one white, one gray, and one black. They operate alone, in the shadows. They have never met, but they know of each other. But now, someone is hunting them, someone wants their immortality.

Luna West is twenty four years old and lives in New York. She works at an art gallery and in her own time, she sketches and paints. They are having a showing when “he” walks in. She is drawn to him from the start. But why? Little did she know the importance this stranger would play in her future.

“They’d been drawn together by forces outside their control, but what simmered between them went beyond magic.”

Luna and Kade would soon realize that Luna was but a pawn in a years in the making plan to capture him. But, as they spend time together, their bond strengthens and they are determined to defeat the evil forces at work against the lone wolves.

This was another suspenseful but still sweet and swoony story that kept me on the edge of my seat. There were more than one times that I just couldn’t see how they were going to get out of their current predicament. I just finished reading this and am ALREADY so excited for the last book, the black wolf’s book. I have a feeling that book is going to be epic!

“We’re stronger together. Now and always.”

What a fast paced, action packed story!!
Kade (one of three immortal lone wolves) and Luna (a strong willed human artist) are fated mates caught up in a nefarious plot to steal the lone wolves' immortally. They meet at her place of work (an art gallery) and are drawn together over one of her paintings (a gray wolf). Their connection is immediate and deep. I can't say too much without giving everything away, but if you love fierce protectors (on both ends of the relationship), shadowy special forces type organizations, magic, subconscious connections, and loads of action and mystery, READ this book!!
I didn't realize this was book 2 of a trilogy, but I could follow along without difficulty (even though I'm going to have to read book 1 now😅).

Always on the lookout for another story in the Forgotten Brotherhood series, I was happily surprised to see that N.J. Walters has started a new series on werewolves. Badass alpha males, can’t help but love them!

And after Taming the White Wolf, I was very curious to see the next story in this series, about the Grey Wolf. And (I should have known) N.J. Walters didn’t disappoint. Yet another magical story about a lone wolf, who will not trust anybody. Especially not a woman with the same colour eyes and lock of hair as his fur. A woman, who has drawn pictures of his wolf and his tattoo on his heart, without ever laying eyes on it.

With a push-and-pull between Kade and Luna, the story keeps you on edge: why is Kade pulled by Luna and why did Luna feel threatened by Solange? Of course, you can read this story as a standalone, but it is so much more fun if you read Taming the White Wolf first and I will definitely read about the Black Wolf in the last part of this series, since we already got a little glimpse of him in this part. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Kade, as the grey Lone Wolf, does not trust easily. He may dispense justice on behalf of the packs but they don't really want him turning up on their turf either. When a lead on the witch, who brought him and his fellow Lone Wolves into existence, takes him to a swish art gallery he also meets the talented artist of a painting that calls to him and his wolf. After all - she painted HIM.

Luna has done well to protect her new life as an artist away from his childhood as the neglected but well educated daughter of Hollywood elite. She, like Kade, has insulated herself against everything that could bring her little world down. But when Kade buys her paining, she gets dragged into a world she never knew existed - shifters, magic and witches!

The attraction is intense and instant between these two but Kade is taking no-one at face value. He knows more about Luna than she would be comfortable with but he needs to know if she is involved in the plots afoot. Luna has leaned on the grey wolf that she has painted from childhood to get her through the worst that life could throw at her. Realising that Kade and the wolf are one and the same sends her into shock. But she is nothing if not a trooper and she comes back fighting and ready to knock some magic users on their butts!

There is another chance to meet some of the erstwhile allies of the Lone Wolves such as The Broker and a certain NY Alpha! There is plenty of action and drama. The banter between Kade and Luna is witty and flirty. The world building is great - setting it just within the modern world with a paranormal twist.

There was a great wee twist at the end and now I'm really looking forward to book 3!

Quick Summary: A shifter romance

My Review: Protecting the Gray Wolf by N.J. Walters is installment #2 in The Lone Wolf Legacy series.

About the Book: A mage and a traitor go after the gray wolf and his fated mate. They will stop at nothing to achieve their ultimate end. Fortunately, Kade and Luna have a bond and connection that cannot be broken.

My Final Say: Book two was packed with action, chemistry, and suspense. The tension between the leads radiated off the pages. The more I read, the more I wanted to read. Actually, the more I learned about the three lone wolves, the more I wanted to go by back and read the first installment, just to get the full experience.
