This story had me on edge the whole time not knowing what to expect, and oh boy there was some big surprises and twists.
There are some heavy steamy yummy scenes and we get some of the past which I loved. Great characters and writing now on to next one.
Rating 4.5
Magic plays a big part in this story as Kade battles to save Luna and destroy the threat. As a lone wolf, Kade never expected to find a mate, but he did and now he must battle to save her and himself. It’s a great story, well written and entertaining. It is full of action along with danger that is ever present and powered by magic. There is a lot going on in this story which made it an entertaining story to read.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and are voluntarily leaving a review.
The tale follows one of three solitary wolves and his partner as they face challenges to escape the antagonist. It was a fun read, and though the plot moved fast, I caught a couple of plot holes during my flip-back. If you're into werewolves and knotting, this book is a must-read.
Thank you Entangled for giving me an early copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts are my own.
I will say; I have never read a werewolf romance book until now and I loved it.
I could not put this book down. It was super fast pace and held my attention the entire time. I didn’t realize that this is the second book in the series, so I need to go back and read the first one. This also makes me excited for the third one!
The plot was fun, the characters were likable, and the spicy was spicy. All around a good book to get into!
4 stars.
For not knowing anything about this series and this being booked too I was able to pick it up and still enjoy it because it’s a standalone series so you can pick up either book and know what’s going on. I really enjoyed it.
I have been provided with a review copy of Protecting The Gray Wolf from NetGalley for an impartial review. This book was just so easy to get lost in. I completely got lost in the story and I just loved getting to see these new characters come together. I just absolutely love this story and I just didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
Exciting paranormal adventure - the pace is almost relentless with action, intrigue, lust for evil, lust for good, conspiracies and secrets. Three lone wolves, three matched mates, one power hungry evil mage with her werewolf consort - and that mysterious broker that always saves the day. No spoilers - fans of paranormal romance and adventure - just read it!
This story is interesting, complex and I enjoyed it start to finish. Kade and Luna are connected yet they just met. I loved the dream connection they shared. The evil mage Solange has been playing the long game. Such a great read!
Danger, love, magic and destiny
Phew. This book. Kade and Luna. Clear your calendar before you start it - it was definitely an unputdownable, stay up too late, regret nothing in the morning kind of book. It had the perfect balance of danger, humor, love, real life issues, mystery, world building, evil, and spice. The sexual tension slowly ramping up in conjunction with the ratcheting up of the danger was delicious perfection. Kade is the immortal Gray Wolf, a lone wolf shifter who hunts and kills rogue wolves at the request of pack alphas and the knowing within himself. There are two other lone wolves in addition to him. Until a mage began hunting the lone wolves to steal their immortality, the lone wolves had awareness of each other but no direct contact. Luna is a human woman who is an artist. She has always been drawn to wolves and her dream companion from childhood has always been a gray wolf. Kade and Luna meet when he’s pulled to NYC, to an art gallery where Luna works and where a painting of a gray wolf is displayed. Even understanding the involvement of evil and the potential influence of magic, the draw toward each other is too strong to resist. While running and fighting for their lives and trying to solve the mystery of if they’re being manipulated, there is a lot of past baggage for both of them to unpack to get to their HEA. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, good world building, and a captivating storyline. While this is book 2 in the series, you’ll not be lost if you read this without reading book 1, but do yourself a favor and read both books you won’t be disappointed. I cannot wait for the final book about the black wolf.
Four and a half
This is the second book about what is supposed to be a Lone Wolf but with a lot of magic and some jiggery pokery there are currently three of these immortal enforcers in the world. Kade is well aware that a Mage and her lover are out to rob him of his immortality but that's just not going to happen . Finding himself drawn to an art gallery he comes across Luna, a woman with his exact colouring ( weird ! ) and stranger still is the fact that she has painted his Wolf which she apparently saw in a dream ! Yup Kade knows he needs to keep an eye on Luna but unfortunately he isn't the only one interested in her.
This is how paranormal romance should be done and no mistake. Strong storyline and characters that the reader cares about. I love this authors imagination and she brings her work to life . Who doesn't enjoy a believable baddie to boo and hiss at facing off with gorgeous hunks of delicious goodness ? Oops got a bit carried away there but Kade is such a protective, growly male that I'm sure you will forgive me . Don't worry though as he isn't perfect and is more than capable of putting his enormous foot in it !
I did enjoy Luna as a character but for some reason just didn't buy into the idea that her childhood was miserable because honestly lots of kids are much worse off. What I really enjoyed was the Mage because things are not going to plan and in fact plans are starting to unravel hehe ! Oo speaking of a Mage well, I cannot divulge my suspicions but we do have our next Lone Wolf outed and rubbing my hands with glee here because he feels like my kind of hero .
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
This is a fast read that quickly grabs your attention. When a lone gray wolf feels a pull to a human woman, magic and unusual connections unfold. Featuring dreams that are far too realist, paintings that connect people, and magic set in motion years prior, this engaging story is hard to put down. The main characters' obvious and intense attraction to each other leads to some spicy moments. This is a great read for a quick escape from reality to a world where magic and indescribable bonds abound. If you are a fan of the genre, you will enjoy this book. It can be read as a standalone, but there are others that tie in. I will have to read them!
Loved this book! Once more, the author has outdone herself. The gray wolf is hunting an evil mage who wants to steal his immortality. Something compels him to enter an art gallery where he meets Luna and sees her painting of a gray wolf.....him. He is drawn to her, and despite suspecting magic, he thinks she could be his mate. What follows is an engaging story filled with magic and heart. I loved the characters and felt invested in their story.
While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. I'm already looking forward to the black wolf's story.
Fans of the genre will love this book. Put it at the top of your TBR list, you'll be glad you did.

Protecting The Gray Wolf is part of the Lone Wolf Legacy series but can be read as a standalone.
The book follows MMC Kade, the Gray Wolf and FMC Luna. The book is fast paced and even though it’s not super long there’s a lot happening. The plot was interesting and there weren’t any dull moments.
Both the MMC and FMC were well introduced. There was some information about their past but I would have loved to read more, especially about Kade. Maybe if the book was a bit longer there would be room for that.
The character interactions were realistic and well written. Even though the events of the
book only took a few days I think that the
story between MMC and FMC wasn’t rushed.
The book ended with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to learn how the story ends!
Overall I really liked the book and do recommend it to readers who like paranormal / shifter romance.
Amazon didn’t let me review the book yet but I will post a review as soon as it’s possible.
