If you are looking for an easy bingeable thriller this is a good one to check out. While it wasn’t the most thrilling thriller I have ever read, It was just enough to keep me interested till the very end. Overall, it was a fun read. I never got bored and I didn’t feel unsatisfied once finishing.

Sadly wasn’t a fan of this whodunnit murder mystery. I couldn’t stand the main character and I definitely did not like the small romance part of this. Disappointing because the premise of the story was intriguing

The last time she saw him by Kate white

A young woman named Kiki reed has recently broken off an engagement with her ex Jaime, when she feels like it just isn’t a good fit. She comes back to her small town for a friends party and runs into her ex, awkward confrontation ensues and her life is sent into an upheaval after her ex is found dead. Instantly it is ruled a suicide as the evidence points to that theory. However KiKi believes otherwise and is fighting to prove it!
This was quick read that held my attention to get to the bottom of the mystery. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC

This book was a good read. Kiki has recently broken off her engagement with Jaime, who she knows she is going to run into at a dinner party and book party in Connecticut with shared friends. She chats with him and things end amicably. But, moments after he leaves the party, a shot is heard and the partygoers find Jaime, dead of an apparent suicide, in his car. Kiki believes that something must have happened to him because she can't believe he would have killed himself.

Kiki heads home to NY, but she can't get Jaime out of her head and between guilt and knowing that something doesn't smell right so she decides to go back to Connecticut and find the truth. As she gets closer to the truth, the more danger she finds herself in.

There were some good plot twists and red herrings in this book. It was an enjoyable story. I wasn't as captivated with it as I have been with many other thrillers, but it was still a good book.

I was extremely hopeful for this book. Being from Connecticut and loving the mystery vibes, it was perfect. It did take me some time to get thru it and I felt myself having to put it down and coming back to it. About half way thru, it picked up for me and I got more into it and needed to know what really happened to Jamie at the party.

This was not a book for me. Although it was a fast read it just didn’t do it. I couldn’t connect with the characters and it just wasn’t to much of a thriller.

I enjoyed this book, but the end felt disappointing- ultimately, I was expecting a shocking twist that just didn’t manifest. Otherwise, it was a mildly entertaining read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy!

I thought this book was ok. The whole was it suicide or murder story line is pretty common but this one I felt had fluff in it that didn’t need to be in there. I think the author was trying to throw the reader off but I just felt there were too many suspects.

So what can I say this book was entertaining but it wasn't my favorite. I think I just couldn't relate to the characters very well so it was hard for me to root for them. The premise was very good I love a who-done it novel and trying to solve the mystery before the book ends. Maybe it needed a few more pages to flesh out the ideas better or maybe its just on me but it wasnt my favorite read from Kate White.

I read through this quickly and thought the plot was coming along nicely. When all of a sudden, I turned the page and it said "acknowledgements" I have no idea how we got to the end. What was the surprise? What was the thriller? It ended on a romantic note when I thought we were looking for a murderer. I'm thoroughly confused- yes there was an answer to the who dun it but it was so boring I had assumed it was a red herring and there would be a twist. I didn't like the sudden ending. Give it a read to see if I'm the crazy one! Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Kate White is one of my go to authors. Her books are always quick reads that keep me guessing. The Last Time She Saw Him was a solid book. I enjoyed it but not as much as some of White’s other books. It had a few too many characters and the mystery was easy to solve.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Publisher for this ARC.

The story starts off with exes Kiki and Jamie at a party. Katherine aka Kiki is a career coach who is working on publishing a book. There is some hostility and differences regarding who left who at the altar. The night turns deadly when Jamie is found dead in his car. Was he shot or did he commit suicide? With no witnesses, Kiki makes it her mission to solve his death.

There are many characters in this book and I found some of them to be irrelevant. Theres many theories surrounding Jamie’s death and the police ruling the investigation as a suicide. Kiki is convinced that someone killed him. She turns to Sam - Jamie’s best friend - during this time and they begin their own relationship after Kiki tells him the reason she called it off with Jamie.

The storyline was bland with not a lot of action. Kiki’s investigation revolved a lot around Jamie’s family and some rental properties. There was some confusion about who Jamie really was and how much she knew about him. I was pretty underwhelmed with her character and felt pretty frustrated at some points. It was a quick read, but I didn’t enjoy the ending and didn’t really connect with the overall themes of the book, which I think was meant to be a romantic mystery and thriller.

Know ki is devastated when her ex-fiancee is found dead following a party they both attended. It gets even worse when it is considered a suicide and his family blames her. Determined to prove he was murdered, Kiki begins investigating, but will she be right.

Kiki attends a friend's dinner party knowing her ex-fiance will also be in attendance, only for the night to end with him dead - murder or suicide? Initially ruled as suicide, Kiki refuses to believe this and takes it upon herself to investigate.

This was an average thriller, some parts were predictable, and what the author tried to throw in as big twists didn't do it for me. I was not a big fan of the main character, Kiki, and was frustrated with the premise that a woman would go this far to investigate her ex-fiance's death after she was the one who ended it. I also struggled with the romance in this book since it seemed unnecessary and took away from the thriller aspect in my opinion. Overall, it was a quick read and had some good parts, but not my favorite thriller.

Katherine "Kiki" Reed decides to attend a party held by a friend of hers in Connecticut. It's not just any party, it will be the first time that she is in the same room as her ex, the man she broke up with right before their wedding. When she sees Jaimie, all seems well but she overhears him saying very negative things about her. Kiki doesn't know what to think and she tries to speak to him once more before he leaves. This turns out to be the last time anyone see Jaimie alive.

Who killed Jamie? Was it a suicide? Join Kiki as she tries to get to the bottom of the story. It's a fun twisty thriller with a bit too much about clothing. There were a lot of great details and scenes that interested me, but I think the tension could have been greater with some of the extra details. But it certainly kept my interest and I did not guess the ending! #harperperrenial #thelasttimeshesawhim #katewhite

I wanted to love this book. It had a great premise and so many (missed) opportunities for suspense. Unfortunately, the pacing was slow, the twists were anticlimactic, and the tension just wasn't there. I also didn't feel many of the characters' reactions were believable nor relatable.

I liked the story and the plot of this book but 1 found Kiki to be annoying whiny. She was very argumentative too. I know that Jamies family. was hurting but I would have never stood there I and let them talk to me the way they did to Kiki. 1 will read more of her books.

—Thank you so much to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the chance to review an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loove this type of books, when our characters have to prove their innocence but everything is at stake, everyone is against them and we don’t even know who to trust or like. It’s crazy! Crazy good!!

Kiki Reed arrives at a friend's dinner party knowing full well it could potentially be incredibly awkward. Earlier in the year, Kiki called off her engagement to Jamie and this is the first time they will be in the same place with their somewhat mutual friends.

Surprisingly, the evening goes well and Jamie seems to have moved on, even bringing a date with him to the party. However, at the end of the night things quickly take a drastic turn when Jamie is found dead in his car on the host's property, with no witnesses having seen what happened.

While the police rule Jamie's death a suicide, Kiki has serious doubts that someone who just adopted a dog would kill themselves. With Kiki renting a house for a few weeks, she takes it upon herself to conduct her own investigation, determined to prove Jamie was of sound mind when he died.

I wanted to love this book, but it was a tough read for me. It read almost like a romance book and not a thriller. The level of suspense for me just wasn't there and I found myself bored and rolling my eyes at various points of the story.

A psychological thriller at its best! Kiki Reed attends a party where she runs into her ex-fiancé, Jamie. Their breakup had been a difficult and heartbreaking one and much to her relief, their encounter was brief and pleasant. After the party ended, the departing guests heard what appeared to be gunshots in the distance where their cars were parked and when they went out to investigate, they found Jamie dead inside his car. A pistol lay on the floor at his feet. After a police investigation, it was determined to be a suicide. Kiki would have none of that. She was determined to find out the truth and launched an investigation of her own. Kiki was not a fan of Jamie’s family because of the way she broke off their engagement. Although they did everything they could to stop her. After she uncovered the deep and dark family issues that may have contributed to Jamie's death, she began to fear for her own life. Fantastic reading, quick pacing, and the reader will never guess the ending. Kate White at her best.
