Kiki heads to a party knowing it will be awkward seeing her ex, Jamie. What she didn't expect was to be one of the last people to see him alive.
This thriller had a lot of promise for me but I was really middle ground with it. The beginning really pulled me in. I was intrigued by Kiki and Jamie. I wanted to know what happened to them to get them to the point where they were so awkward with each other. I then felt so bad for Kiki when Jamie dies. She was really trying to move on but the was quickly sidetracked by his death.
I liked the romance aspect to the this. I wanted a little more from it, but I was happy with it.
Now, on the other end, I felt that there were too many characters. I got a little lost in all of the backstories and who was who, which is not something that usually happens to me. I also got annoyed with Kiki at times. Overall, I did like her, but some of her actions didn't make sense to me.
All in all, an interesting thriller.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy.

I do enjoy a Kate White thriller and this one had me glued to the pages. It was a fast read, full of interesting characters and plenty of twists that I didn’t see coming, and some that I did.
The premise, suicide or murder? I really enjoyed how it played out, the strange things happening to Kiki, her reasons for believing it was murder mad sense to me. And a do, a rescue do at that is always going to get my heart. The ending was very clever, and I certainly did not see it coming. I had a few different scenarios in my head that were not even close 😅
Overall, it was a fun and easy read. Alway look forward to reading her books.
Thanks so much to Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for my advanced copy on NetGalley. Publishes on May 14th.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for the copy of The Last Time She Saw Him by Kate White. Kiki was self-absorbed. So many times she made everything all about herself. She spent so much time thinking she was the reason Jamie killed himself it got monotonous, and when she finally figured out it wasn’t her fault I was sick of her. While the writing style was good, the story went off in too many directions that didn’t matter and felt like filler. I was interested in how it would all come together, but ultimately the end was disappointing.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview The Last time She Saw Him.
I don’t think this is a thriller or mystery. This is more of a suspense novel with romance tossed in
I did not finish this book but thank you for the advance copy

I love Kate White’s books. Really I do. But the last few that I’ve read have left me wanting more, and not in a good way. The Last Time She Saw Him is no exception. It started off strong and I was very invested. Just when I was about halfway through the book, the pace started slowing down significantly. There were a few things alluded to in the story that were never brought up again, even though it was hinted that they would be. The big “twist” seemed very forced and the ending was sloppy and thrown together. It wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read, but it was a little disappointing.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

I want to express my gratitude to NetGalley, Harper Perennial, and Paperbacks for giving me the chance to read this ARC.
I'm usually a huge fan of Kate White books, but this one felt forced and predictable to me. There weren't many surprising twists, and the dialogue felt unnatural. Despite my criticisms, I found the story easy to follow. I have to be honest, I couldn't stand the main character. I couldn't connect with her and she really bothered me. However, that didn't stop me from completing the story.
In my opinion, the romance aspect felt a bit forced, but I understand its role in the overall plot.
I'm excited to see what the author has in store for us next!

Did you read that book?
The Last Time She Saw Him
By Kate White
Plot: Kiki’s ex-boyfriend commits suicide…or was it murder? Determined to find the truth, she rents a house in the area to look for the missing link that will get the police to take her seriously. But as she peels away the layers, she uncovers something far more sinister than she had ever imagined—and it may be her life on the line next. . . .
Review: Let me start by saying I actually enjoyed the writing (it was very well written) and the premise from chapter one did have me wanting to keep reading more. I was “hooked” until I saw I had maybe 40 pages left and thoughts…how will all this be wrapped up so quickly? I kept waiting for something thrilling to happen, and it had so much potential, but it did not come. The cold bedroom scene had me very invested but the outcome/answer was just okay. The reveals along the way were full of promise but underwhelming, and when the final twist was revealed, I just said “okay”.
Thank you to Kate White, NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for an ARC copy of The Last Time She Saw Him.

This book was a slower burn but so good!
There were little twist at the end of the chapter making me want to keep reading to see what happened next. I enjoyed this book and loved that it did disclose what happened at the end of the book.
Thank you NetGalley, Kate White, and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks Publishing for the ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for allowing me to read the ARC of this book! Overall, the book was okay. I enjoyed the hook in the prologue and I enjoyed the ending of the story. However, it felt like the story went many different ways and some of it felt unnecessary to the story. Plus some of the things the main character did seemed impulsive and not important to the original plot line. Overall I gave the book two stars.

The book was good and it was a page-turner, but...I just didn't feel there, didn't feel part of the story. The main characters, Kiki and Sam just didn't seem real to me. To lose someone you once cared about, no matter the reason, is a heartbreaking thing. I didn't feel that for either of the characters. It was like, oh well, he's dead, let's got to bed and see what kind of sparks we can make, which went many as it turns out. The one thing that kept me reading was why did this guy loose his life? The reason really did blow me away as did the ending, which I never did see the whole time. A good book, yes, but, with the story line, it could have been so much more. Sorry, but I can't really recommend this one.

Okay so I'm really torn on how to rate/review because I had a lot of fun reading this. It was quick and easy-- but I think that's partially because it almost feels like you're reading notes/an outline on what the book is going to be. It doesn't feel fully fleshed out and written like a novel and I don't think it's intentional. I really liked the plot. It just almost feels like someone read a really good thriller and is now describing it to me. The dialogue didn't feel like how people would talk in real life. Also there were a lot of weird phrasings/word choices. But, the weirdest thing of all was that every now and then-- the character "Liam" was referred to as "Eric" with absolutely no reasoning or explanation. I waited until the end because I gave benefit of the doubt that maybe it was going to be relevant to the plot-- but, I think what actually happened is that the author was originally going to name the character "Eric" and then decided to change it to "Liam" but missed a few? I can't think of any other explanation.
+ Bonus points because I love a good dinner party at an old Connecticut mansion.

Quick read! I liked the overall concept of this but felt there were was some holes in the plot. The main character really isn’t the most likable person either. The twist didn’t feel super surprising and wish it wasn’t predictable with more twists and turns.

3.5 stars!
Overall it’s a good book, I do however find it difficult to keep up with different characters at times and I found myself doing that with this book. The story caught my attention right away and had it throughout the book so really did enjoy reading this one.

The Last Time She Saw Him immediately sucked me in! I always enjoy a writer who really describes the characters and their surroundings, as it is fun to visualize in more depth.
The book opens with a murder of a young woman outside a fairground. Then it jumps to the main plot which centers around Kiki, who has been through a lot of change recently, including a move and a major break up from her fiancée. Now Kiki faces a new challenge, as her ex dies of a gunshot wound, and she feels pulled into understanding if he could have killed himself or if someone else may have been responsible. As she digs for answers, she also starts to realize there may have been a connection between the woman’s death and her ex-fiancée’s.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Great characters, loved the descriptions, a little romance, very realistic, all the pieces fell together very nicely.
Thanks so much to Net Galley and HarperCollins for the privilege of reading this page turner by Kate White

I enjoyed this book although I did find the MFC a bit insufferable at times. The book was fast-paced and bingeable. I wanted to learn what happened next. Kiki was hard to relate to with actions that were outlandish at times. I thought the romance aspect was thrown together and unnecessary to the story. Felt like a forced piece of romance in a mystery/thriller story. Overall I enjoyed the book but don’t think it would be one where the story sticks with me.

A fantastic new read by Kate White! Her former fiance dies, everyone but her is sure it's suicide. She won't stop until she finds answers! Lot's of intrigue, great setting, fun characters, couldn't put it down! You shouldn't pass it up!

Devastated after the loss of her former fiancé Jamie, Kiki Reed is reeling and consumed with guilt when she learns that his death was a possible suicide. While attempting to understand exactly what made him do it, things that she learns are not adding up, setting her on a mission to prove to the world that this was no suicide. It was murder.
Full of cliffhangers and red herrings, this was a quick, fast-paced read. Kiki was a somewhat likable character if a little too trustworthy. Her motivation for investigating was a bit flawed, more to redeem herself than to get justice for her ex. While the storyline was strong, the ending fell a little flat for me. I felt a lot of build-up, and then it just happened, out of left field, and that was it. The writing itself was solid and succeeded in telling a compelling story full of mystery and emotion. Overall, I give this one three and a half stars.
Thank you, Netgalley and Harper Perennial, and Paperbacks for this ARC.

I have a little secret…
Kate White, has one heck of a book releasing in May, and it’s straight up poppin’!
The Last Time She Saw Him
This book deserves a standing ovation and I am SO here for it.
I cant even tell you what I thought I was going to read compared to what I actually did read but I can tell you, this book is one that I will never be able to stop talking about and it deserves every bit of the hype it is about to get..
Check out this teaser :
A woman is left reeling when her former fiancé appears to take his own life, and she becomes desperate to prove it was actually murder—in the latest psychological thriller from New York Times bestselling author Kate White
As Kiki Reed heads out to a party at a friend’s house in the Connecticut countryside, she’s more than a little nervous. Her ex-fiancé Jamie, a great guy who just wasn’t “the one,” will be attending, and she hasn’t seen him since she broke his heart a few months earlier. But when they come face to face, their exchange is brief and pleasant, which is a huge relief.
Then, as the party is winding down, a noise pierces the night. The last few guests run outside to find Jamie inside his car, dead from a gunshot wound.
Shocked and grieving, Kiki learns that the police believe Jamie took his own life, but she knows he was moving on from the breakup and just doesn’t believe it. Determined to find the truth, she searches for any evidence that will get the police to take her seriously. But as she peels away the layers, she uncovers something far more sinister than she’d imagined—and it may be her life on the line next. . .

I liked this book for the most part. Some parts had me questioning some parts. Overall, I liked it. I'd recommend if you enjoy some romantic suspense.

Kiki and Jamie have just called off their engagement. She likes Jamie, but he isn't her person. The problem is they still have friends in common. Their first meeting after the cancelled engagement is at a mutual friends book party. The avoid each other all night but at the end of the party, they exchange pleasantries and Jamie is on his way. Five minutes later, a gun shot is heard and when partygoers investigate, they find Jamie dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The police rule it a suicide, but Kiki isn't so sure. Even if he is no longer her fiancé, she knows he isn't the type to do this out of nowhere. There would have been signs. She decides to investigate but Jamie's family isn't happy with the idea of the woman who broke his heart dredging up old secrets.
I had such high hopes for this book but it just missed the mark. The chapters end on awesome cliffhangers, but when the next chapter begins, the cliffhanger is just brushed away. I found it difficult to read through this one and was unfortunately counting down to when it was over. The author had such a great premise and this story had all the potential to be great, but nothing was done with it.
