I love the way in which this author always manages to bring about parallel plots with interconnected characters, all of which come with their own happy endings. From the cover of this novel to the last words of the author, I found this romance engaging, enticing and so romantic. Annabelle and Jeffrey started off badly but fortunately, the shocked military man quickly comes to his senses and sets matters straight. Annabelle's meeting with her half-brother goes a lot better than she could have expected and I appreciated Anthony's gentle disposition and generosity towards Annabelle and her mother. The bonus in this entertaining and well-written novel is that Lucy, Annabelle's mother, also finally finds happiness. The only person left a bit disgruntled is Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon when she finds herself outsmarted by the contestants of her matchmaking. Even the gentle Anthony manages to upset her. I received a copy of this heartwarming romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Mrs. Dove-Lyon is working her magic again but the ending was a major surprise I wasn’t expecting. As a second son of an Earl, Jeffrey never expected to inherit but he did and now he needs an heir and money to save his estate. A second chance may give him the only woman he has ever cared for, Annabelle but there are complications. It’s a great story and I love how after years apart they reconnect. It’s well written and entertaining. There are several surprises at the end of the story, some I was not expecting.

The Lady of a Lyon" had potential. It tells the story of a widow with a past who is looking for a husband to help her raise her young son. This is a trope that has been used multiple times in novels, but this one had potential. However, I wish we had more information about the backstory. Although we get to know the two main characters, we also meet two other characters with their own stories developing. Perhaps the author had time constraints and wanted to get this one out quickly. The story and writing are fine, but I wish there was more depth to it.
