I enjoyed this Regency romance with a believable mix of historical characters and an engaging love story between Hathor and the Prince. Although this is the third book in the Du Bell series, it reads as a standalone, and the writing is full of delicious banter and sensual romance. The cast of characters makes this an absorbing story that immerses you in Regency England and its society. Hathor is a complex, likeable character, and the family dynamic adds humour and poignancy to the story. The romance is lovely, and the emotion is believable. I like the dialogue, the chemistry between Hathor and the Prince and the Regency setting.

This is the third book of The Dubells series. To be fair, Hathor was my least favourite of the Dubells. However, I really enjoyed her story and even though I was prepared for an okay read, I was surprised!

I wasn't a fan of the previous novel by this author but this one is good, compelling and highly entertaining.

This book was incredible - I ate it all up from start to finish! Hathor is just such an amazing FMC - strong-willed, determined, but also the sweetest. In context of the society in the book, she seemed almost relatable too. It was good to see a woman who knew her worth and refused to settle with any old person who showed interest - she stuck to her standards, which, yes, made her seem difficult to her family but to us, the reader, it was a YASS GIRL moment.

Her dynamic with the Prince was so fun to watch and see develop. It went from something solely hilarious and entertaining to something so beautiful and it was very nice to see and experience. I didn't want the book to end! I wanted to keep reading and seeing how their lives developed, I was that invested in the two of them!

Also, special shout out to Abena! She somehow ended up being my favourite character despite only making a handful of appearances.

This book was a serious level-up from JJ McAvoy when compared with Aphrodite and the Duke. The pacing was spot on, the story was compelling, it felt fresh, and I'm really looking forward to the others in the series. Again, this is definitely aimed at Bridgerton fans, but we know that from the earlier novel. This one hit the mark for me in every way and I read it in a day!

This is the third book in the Du Bell series, and this one did not disappoint. 

The main characters are Lady Hathor Du Bell and Prince Wilhelm. The book starts with Hathor wanting her happily ever after, after her oldest sister and sister in law have  found love. 

Hathor is introduced to the prince. However, things do not go well. Prince Wilhelm is not what a typical prince is 'meant to be'. 

The question is will Lady Hathor get her happily ever after ? 

The character of Hathor was so well written and I loved her little sister.

I absolutely loved this book. It was a great read from beginning to end. I can't wait for the next book (fingers crossed)

If you like historical romance, this is for me. Readers to like the Bridgeton series will love this book.

I read J.J.McAvoy's first books, way back, circa 2014-2015. I loved those - they were unhinged in the best ways.
I wanted to try her histrom books, but unfortunately I did not really like this one. Tbh, I was bored. I liked the dislike between the main characters, however, Hathor sees to be always harping about the Prince, and it was getting on my nerves. The lady hath fury.
The first part of the book (at least up to the point I read) takes place at a house party, and as much as I usually love those in histrom, there were too many characters to keep track of here - the siblings, the numerous guests. And Hathor and the Prince (together, on page) seemed to be lost among all of it. I wanted more of them.
Shout-out to Hathor's 12 year old sister, I love her impertinence!
I hope this book finds its audience, unfortunately it's not me.

This is the third book in J.J. McAvoy's The DuBells series. I had not read any of the other books before reading this one however that did not stop my enjoyment of the book. Set in England during the late 1700s, in this book we follow Lady Hathor DuBells journey to finding a suitable husband.

Whilst at first, I was unsure of the first-person writing style and the way it switched between each character's perspective I ended up enjoying it as it gave a deeper insight into their thoughts and feelings throughout.

An interesting historical romance read set against grandeur of the most lavish ballrooms and upper society. A good plot with a flirty rivals to love romance at the heart of the story. Pacing could be a little slow at times, but the writing is descriptive and easy to read. Characters are likeable and well-developed with nice details about their personalities to make them stand out. Thank you to Quercus and J.J. McAvoy for the opportunity to arc review Hathor and the Prince.

This book is by no means perfect. The writing is patchy - in parts it is sharp, witty and very entertaining, at other times it is anachronistic and a bit jarring and in need of a tight edit. I did, however, very much enjoy it!

I hadn't read the other two book in the series which I think might have helped, but the two main characters are just super. Lady Hathor du Bell is properly funny - and Prince Wilhelm is a great foil from their rather explosive first meeting.

Add in a house party, some great one liners, surprising depth to the characters - and you've got an engaging, if flawed, book. I finished it thinking to go back and read the first two in the series though, and think Hathor and Wilhelm are interesting enough that they could carry a follow on.

I found this book very slow paced and therefore quite hard to keep reading. The chemistry is pretty much non-existent, mostly the FMC and MMC yell at each other. It isn’t until the crisis towards the end that things really ramp up for this couple.

This book was another corker in the series. The opening was on the slow side, with Hathor not endearing herself however things then stepped up and the pace clipped along. Some excellent banter, a masterful lesson in sarcasm and holding one’s own in the face of royalty, all made this book a joy. The book isn’t a surprise but the jolting journey to get to the happy ending is fun and well worth reading,

This turned out to be an exciting read. I couldn’t put down. It certainly had a lot to offer and the characters were amazing
