When Wren was born her grandfather built and hung a wren house outside her window. As she grew, Wren watched the birds build nest, lay eggs and eventually fly away. Wren’s grandfather gave her binoculars and they started birding together. Then her parents moved. Wren watched the phoebe nest in the porch rafters. The day after the phoebe’s fledged, Wren’s sister Phoebe is born.

What a lovely story about bird watching and a relationship between a grandfather and his granddaughter. I loved how the book ended with ways to bird watch and how to become a certified nest watcher. Can’t wait to get this one and share with others!!

This book is so sweet. I love how it explores the little girl’s love of birds. This is something she shares with her grandfather. I love the ending. It is so very sweet. I also like how information is included telling what to do in case you find a baby bird.

Sweet and engaging children's book about a family moving to a new home and finding new birds and a phoebe nest at their new house. I appreciated Wren's relationship with her grandfather. I also liked the information at the end on citizen science and what to do if you find a fledgling bird or nest. I loved Heidi Stemple's book "You Nest Here with Me" and was glad to read this new one.

What a unique way to learn about the importance of family while also learning about birds and nature. Detailed illustrations capture the reader’s attention. The information at the end of the book that explains what to do if you see a nest is extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this book and would encourage grandparents to read it to their grandchildren.
