OMG this book was pure perfection to me! But I think Nancy Naigle books always are. The characters and story are well written and enjoyable. I was hooked from the beginning until the very end. It ended perfectly but I could always use more of her books. LOL
The story does start of a little heartbreaking when Fire Chief Tucker tries to save a families house from fire but isn't successful. So a family with four young children are in need and he's trying to get volunteers to help them since they lost everything.
Sheila is a realtor visiting her best friend and to help decorate a tree in the annual Christmas Tree Stroll fundraiser. While she's here she ends up helping Tucker and the family that lost everything. Along the way she will embark on an unexpected journey of self-discovery.
Sheila and Tucker are such compassionate characters and I just fell in love with them. I loved following along on their journey.
This book had me laughing, swooning, smiling like crazy and had my heart filled with joy! I seriously can't recommend this book enough!!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press | St. Martin's Griffin for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
This was my first exposure to the characters in Chestnut Ridge, I wish I had read the earlier titles. I did like the author’s description of the town, I felt like I was there. The tree decorating fundraiser was such a great idea in the book. The slow burn romance with Tucker and Sheila was fun. 3.5 stars
This book could be a Hallmark movie. The story and dialogue is very predictable. Not very original.
Very Hallmark movieish. I enjoyed the MMC being a firefighter and the more detailed descriptions of his job.
We get it, you have a Tesla and it was expensive. The writing in this book was very clunky and super redundant at times. It was hard to tell how old our main characters were, sometimes they felt like they were in their 30's, sometimes their 60's. That said, the storyline was cute and very heartwarming.
I love stories like this at Christmas time. It's small town magic, love and romance all wrapped in a pretty bow. This is a Hallmark Christmas Movie in reader form and I enjoyed it.
I sincerely appreciate the author and NetGalley for the review copy.
I loved everything about Christmas in Chestnut Ridge - the small town, their Christmas traditions, the close-knit community, and all of the wonderful characters. This was the perfect Christmas story!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cozy, heartwarming Christmas novel. I enjoyed it a lot!
Five Reasons to Read 'Christmas in Chestnut Ridge:'
1. The heartwarming, small-town setting of Chestnut Ridge is the quintessential Christmas setting, with its picturesque mountains, tree-filled hillsides, and all-important snow. It creates a cozy atmosphere filled with holiday spirit.
2. The community themes throughout the story—Christmas at Chestnut Ridge is mainly about the town rallying around a family who lost their home to fire. Watching the whole community come together and each doing their own part for the family to ensure a wonderful holiday made my heart nearly burst with love and spirit.
3. Sheila and Tucker's slow-burn romance is a journey worth investing in. Their gradual development and eventual happy ending felt authentic and left me rooting for them every step of the way.
4. This clean and sweet story is like a warm hug on a cyou'renter's day. If you're in the mood for a heartwarming tale that uplifts you, this book is for you.
5. Character Growth and Development—Sheila's journey to self-discovery is delightful to read. She is a woman who needs to find where she belongs, and her journey is so relatable and engaging that you can't help but root for her.
Christmas in Chestnut Ridge was the perfect heartwarming Christmas love story that will have you turning pages until the end. The author was new to me and I look forward to reading more books from the author. I loved this mountain town and all of the characters were amazing in this. The book is one I loved and would recommend to any reader especially if you love Christmas! Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for this read in exchange of my honest review of Christmas in Chestnut Ridge by Nancy Naigle.
If you love a small mountain town at Christmas, Chestnut Ridge is the place for you. This town goes all in on a tree decorating competition. Big city, Tesla driving real-estate hot shot Sheila visits her best friend in Chestnut Ridge and tries to slow down and relax for the rest of the year. Then she meets the hot fire chief and probably she's going to want to stay in town forever.
There were some continuity conflicts that took me out of the story but I'm hopeful they were resolved in the final edits. Overall, it's a sweet holiday story with a wealth of side characters that added to the vibrancy of the town. Chestnut Ridge has a secret stash of hot single men for newcomers to scoop up.
This is a sequel to And Then There Was You but it can be read stand-alone. All the characters are introduced with sufficient backstory to catch up a new reader (or this one, who needed her memory prompted from last year's book)

Christmas in Chestnut Ridge is the second book in the Chestnut Ridge series. This is a stand-alone read.
Sheila is invited to spend two weeks in Chestnut Ridge, the town where her best friend has moved. Sheila is a big city girl who makes a lot of money selling real estate. She agrees to come for a visit and to participate in the Christmas Tree Stroll which is a big event just before Christmas. What she doesn't expect is to fall in love with the town and Tucker, the town's fire chief.
It is a wonderful story with a strong sense of community. The events are fun filled and touching. Picking out Christmas trees from a tree farm, hot cocoa, buying gifts, and helping a family when they need help the most. I highly recommend this story. It has all the special moments that Christmas has to offer.

I love returning to Chestnut Ridge in this heartwarming Christmas Romance. The small town of Chestnut Ridge is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia (which I love) and Sheila comes to spend the holiday season with her best friend who recently moved there. Sheila falls right into the holiday magic in this sweet town aswnd it doesn't help that the fire captain and her work together to help a family in need.
This book is all about a sense of community, holiday love and friendship. If you're in the mood for a sweet and heartwarming Christmas romance you'll enjoy Christmas in Chestnut Ridge.
Shelia's best friend has convinced her to to come to Chestnut Ridge for Christmas and help her try and win the annual Christmas Tree Stroll. Life hasn't been going the way Shelia hoped so she decides to throw herself into the competition and open herself.to the holiday spirit the town is filled with. She soon realizes that she has been looking at things wrong and that her life is shat she makes of it. Will this new self discovery help her go in the direction that will give her life meaning? Meanwhile there Tucker, the local fire captain who needs help with four young children who have lost their home to fire. Shelia steps up to help and something ignites between the two. Will she be able to up and move and change her life or will she go back to her everyday grind?
From the start of this title, I just knew I would love Chestnut Ridge and the host of characters presented with a serious dose of Christmas cheer.
I may not have lived in a big city like Sheila, but I did live in suburbia for decades before moving to a small town. So, this title spoke a bit to me (I just don't have a hunkey fireman in my life.) Our small town has Christmas trees on the green being decorated by local businesses this year - just a smaller scale than the annual Christmas Tree Stroll in the book.
Aspects of the book (romance-wise) are predictable, but that's what makes titles like this one a cozy read for an autumn or winter night. It is definitely a great one for holiday time.

Christmas in a small mountain town. This was a cute feel good story of a city girl’s visit to a quaint town where everyone has Christmas spirit. A bit sappy, but still enjoyable, and got me in a Christmas mood. I would have liked to read the first in this series as there were back stories not fully explained.
Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.
What a wonderful story, perfect to read right now as we are entering the Christmas season. We go back to Chestnut Ridge and visit with Natalie, Orene and all the other characters from the first book. Sheila's story is fun to unfold and I love reading about the Christmas tree Stroll and all the holiday events.
Sweet romance story. Bonus that it is a holiday one as well. I didn't read the first book, and now want to go back and see what I missed.
I really enjoyed the small town feel, the friendships, and the romance. Thank you to @netgalley and publisher for the review copy.
Adding another Christmas book to the list. I adore the small town Christmas books with a tight knit community and lots of Christmas activities.
The characters had some complexities that drew in a lot of emotion but still managed to keep it very in season. I loved the idea of the Christmas tree event they had (I don't want to spoil anything because it really was a treat). I could picture myself there and only hope to have such an event in my town.
Anyone that is looking for a cute, found-family read with a G romance needs to look no further.
