Christmas in Chestnut Ridge by Nancy Naigle, book two in the Chestnut Ridge series, is a delightful and emotional tale of friendship and warmth during the holiday season as we return to the small town of Chestnut Ridge. It is the holiday season, time to celebrate with friends, pick out Christmas trees, drinking hot cocoa, buying gifts, having a sense of community, and falling in love.
Sheila travels to Chestnut Ridge to visit her best friend Natalie and to help her decorate a tree for the annual tree decorating contest. Sheila is pulled into this town of caring neighbors helping to support a family which was displaced by a fire. The usual holiday activities occur, bringing the community together; like providing food baskets and cookie bakes. Sheila is quickly pulled into this small community and fitting perfectly; something this city gal did not expect. She also did not expect to fall for the local fire chief. Tucker is a great guy, and he sure did not expect to fall for a city gal. This is a sweet Christmas romantic read sure to bring on the smiles. I can’t wait for the next installment of this wonderful series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Do you love Christmas? Do you love small town romance? Then Christmas in Chestnut Ridge is for you. This is such a cozy, feel-good story. I felt like I was curled up in front of a fire, enjoying all of the holiday festivities in the mountains. Makes me want to visit this holiday season.
Nancy Naigle wrote a winner. Pick this book up and let it take you away for Christmas.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
This one is for the reader who enjoys a prose version of the older Hallmark Christmas shows. The characters are sweetly generic, the setting full of X-mas (the commercial face of Christmas) trivia, and no real bumps in the road. Yet it took me months to read as it was always so easy to put down and took an effort to pick up again.
Romance in a small town. Although a romance, it's a story about caring, hope, helping others, and all the good things about a small town. It's also about reevaluating priorities and figuring out what really matters in life. Enjoyable read.
I received an ARC copy from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
It’s been so incredibly delightful to be back in heartwarming Chestnut Ridge! And at the perfect time of year! If you need a cozy, feel-good story to brighten up your days & get you ready for the festive season, Nancy Naigle delivers one of the best with her latest.

Sheila is invited to the small town of Chestnut Ridge for the holidays. Her best friend Natalie has convinced her to come and stay and take part in the annual Christmas Tree Stroll. Sheila is a little hesitant, never really understanding how Natalie loves living in this small town when Sheila is definitely a city girl.
When Sheila arrives in town she is welcomed with open arms by the town. She is just getting settled when she literally runs into fire captain Tucker. She remembers him from her last visit, but she must have forgot just how handsome he was. The two quickly become friends and start to celebrate the meaning of the season by helping a family displaced by a fire. Sheila is starting to finally see what keeps Natalie in this small town. How will Sheila do when the holidays are over and she must had back to her life in the city?
This novel by Nancy Naigle is a fabulous Christmas story. It wrapped me in the holiday spirit by following the characters as they prepared for the holidays. I was so excited to see what happened at the Christmas Tree Stroll I could not stop reading. The characters are so well written and Nancy immerses you in the story by her amazing writing style. My thanks to the author and to St. Martin’s Press for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. Grab your hot cocoa and snuggle up with this wonderful Christmas novel.

As she gets involved in the various fun things to do she meets the Fire Chief, Tucker and the sparks( I know, bad pun) fly. But she’s a city girl and he is living his dream.

This charming holiday romance will make you believe in the magic of Christmas in a small town. Chestnut Ridge is a place where people care for their own and the holiday spirit has a way of touching hearts and changing lives.
Sheila Aldridge agrees to travel to Chestnut Ridge to help her best friend decorate a tree for the Christmas Tree Stroll. A big event in a small town, everyone is involved, the competition is spirited, and hearts are full of holiday cheer.

Chestnut Ridge was a charming, magical, small town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was filled with the Christmas spirit of joy, hope, love, and giving to others. I loved the characters in this book. They all added to the magic of the town. I especially liked the sparks flying between Tucker, the fire chief in Chestnut Ridge and Sheila, a broker from Richmond who was visiting her best friend, Natalie, who now resided in the quaint, mountain town.
This was a perfect Christmas book full of small town fun, wonderful characters, and a budding romance. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
The front cover of this book is enough to make you wish for Christmas to come quickly. This wonderful story will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit with touches of romance and most importantly charitable giving to those less fortunate.
Sheila and Tucker were two peas in a pod with chemistry that was swoony. Both characters had such a giving spirit and cared for others. The town of Chestnut Ridge is a small, tight-knit community who cares for their own. When a family with small children lose their home right before Christmas, the community's love and spirit pours out in such a way that will warm your heart.
The Christmas Tree Stroll sounds enchanting and magical. I could envision it just reading about it, all while wishing I could be there. There were so many good things about this book, but one phrase stuck out to me, "kindness breeds kindness". This community and the people in it took that to heart and to a whole other level. This book will give you what I call the warm fuzzies.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fair warning: This book is closely tied to the first book in this series And Then There Was You. I felt like I'd been dropped in the middle of an ongoing plot. Not a feeling I like. The wholesome factor is on the high side and the just so sweet setting and characters had my teeth aching. Sugar overload, but a good story about taking a chance on something new. This book would make a great Christmas movie.
Shelia is a city girl with a successful real estate business in Richmond, Viginia. She has worked hard for quite a while, especially since her divorce, and is looking forward to spending two weeks with her best friend, Natalie in the small mountain town of Chestnut Falls.
Tucker is the fire chef of Chestnut Falls and loves his job and the people in his community and he takes their safety very seriously. When he meets Shelia, he is instantly drawn to the warn vivacious woman. But he is, more or less, married to his job and has little space in his life for a relationship.
As Shelia is drawn into the loving arms of the Chestnut Falls community, she comes to reevaluate the things that bring true meaning to her life. Tucker begins to see that all work all the time is no way to live life. Love happens when we least expect it and between people who are busy making other plans and living other lives.
My thanks to the Publisher and Author for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.
First of all, I want to live in this imaginary town! Second,, I know I would love all of the characters who are already there!
Having said that, I absolutely loved this story about a group of people who end up helping a family displaced a few days before Christmas because their home burns down. The story is utterly heartwarming and you want to hug every one of them.
I hope & pray that this ends up being, yet another of Ms. Naigle's' Hallmark movies.
It will be a gigantic hit!
Against the enchanting background of wonderful mountains, a holiday romance begins. When Sheila's friend convinces her to help decorate a tree for the charity fundraiser, Sheila is reluctant. However, as she embraces the tradition, she soon finds out all the cozy small town comradery is just what she needed. Tucker is trying to start a fundraiser for a family who lost everything to a fire. When Sheila decides to help, will they find love? I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
I enjoyed this heartwarming and cozy holiday book. Chestnut Ridge sounds like a wonderful place to spend Christmas. This was a lovely tale of friendship and love. A Hallmark movie in a book!
Nancy Naigle is one of my favorite authors. Christmas in Chestnut Ridge is the second book in the Chestnut Ridge series. As soon as I started reading, I felt the like I was among friends in this small town at Christmas.
I adored the chemistry between Sheila and Tucker the fire chief. The sweet romance was so well written. The characters feel like I have known them for years.
Thank you NetGalley, Nancy Naigle and St Martins Press for the copy of Christmas in Chestnut Ridge. This is my personal review.
This was a bit of a struggle for me. The premise sounded right up my alley since I love Hallmark movies but in reality, this felt more like a Women’s Fiction novel disguised as a Christmas RomCom. I really enjoyed the Christmas themed romance between Sheila and Tucker but it was secondary and doesn’t kick in until about halfway through the book.
The first half of the book also seems hyper focused on one particular storyline that I think could have been truncated in favor of more relationship development for the lead couple. Similarly, the book tends to get bogged down in a lot of minor details along the way.
This is probably fine if you’re a fan of the author’s other books but I like my romances to be focused on the romance. Also, as an aside, the numerous mentions of Hobby Lobby were a bit of a turnoff for me.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Griffin and NetGalley for the ARC.
Sheila goes to Chestnut Ridge for a few weeks in December to visit her friend Natalie and to help Natalie enter her tree into the Christmas Tree Stroll contest. Chestnut Ridge is a small town that is cozy and loves Christmas. Everyone knows each other and they go all out for Christmas. Sheila falls in love with Chestnut Ridge the more time she spends there. It certainly helps that the town’s fire chief, Tucker, has also taken an interest in Sheila. He’s is not only the fire chief, but he heads volunteers efforts for those in need, especially a family of four who loses their home to a fire. Sparks fly between these two, but Sheila is only visiting.
There were aspects of this book that I really liked. There was a huge sense of community in this book. I loved seeing neighbors and friends come together to help support the family that lost their home due to the fire. I also liked all the other volunteer opportunities and donations that were talked about in this book. It wasn’t all about flashy presents given to loved ones, and that was really heartwarming. The two sounds really cute and it’s a town that I would love to visit during the holidays.
There was also the aspect about Sheila’s mother having Alzheimer’s and that was really honest and real, but the author handled how difficult that would for a person very well.
I really wanted to feel more between Tucker and Sheila. I just never felt their connection. I never felt their spark or their chemistry. Their relationship felt very two dimensional to me. Maybe because I was so into the other aspects of the book that this felt like the throw away story line.
But, if you’re looking for a warm hearted, cozy read, then this is the book for you!
This is the second book in this series and it was as enjoyable as the first. The main characters are so likeable and the town of Chestnut Ridge is so inviting. It is truly a wonderful holiday read that you shouldn't miss.
A sweet Christmas story set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, we also have a slow-burn romance between Sheila, a high-end real estate broker from Richmond, and Tucker, the young fire chief in Chestnut Ridge. It's filled with the sights and sounds of the holiday season, and heavy on the connections between people and helping one another. And thankfully, the issue between Sheila and Tucker wasn't someone not sharing information or making decisions for the other, it was actually a good conversation that they needed to have. I look forward to visiting this community again in the future! Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the advance digital copy!
