When a woman finally finds her own voice and her own truth, it is absolutely beautiful to witness. Maren leaves behind her old life-which includes an awkward marriage proposal to small town Wisconsin. Joe is her older brother's bff, who she has known since childhood. He's gone through his own struggles, and now a single dad raising his two children.
This one was a quick, fun read and I just loved the chemistry between Maren and Joe. Pick this one up if you are in the mood for a truly heart-warming story.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy. My opinions are my own.
Catch and Keep was like a warm blanket on a cool autumn day. We absolutely love single dad romances and when you add in the brother’s best friend trope, how could we resist?
Maren & Joe’s love story was so effortless and genuine it was a joy to experience. Add in some cute kids and this romance was exactly what we wanted.
Erin Hahn does not miss for us. She has a great writing style and creates characters we wish we could be friends with. Catch and Keep is a standalone, but it’s also a part of an interconnected world! Who doesn’t love revisiting characters? And this group of friends has been a joy to read.
If you’re looking for a cozy romance with some spice, pick up Catch and Keep!

If anyone ever said I would love a book with fishing in it, I probably would have said they were crazy. This book, however, was incredible. Maren leaves her job after a public proposal goes wrong and heads to wear she was the happiest as a child. Up north where the family used to go for vacations. She loved to fish from the time she was small and one of her mentors has passed away and left her some money and his bait shop and apt. There she runs into one of her older brother's friends, Joe. Only now they are both grown up and things are different.
This book is heartwarming, sweet and spicy, and I binged it so hard. The characters grew and developed and I was definitely along for the ride.
4.5/5⭐️
First things first, a book where the main character has my name! Spelled and pronounced the same! Sign me up! Thankfully the book’s positives weren’t limited to the FMC’s name. This is a tender, heartfelt story about two people who feel alone. Sure they both have lots of people around them, but neither has found their person who will be there for them no questions asked. Things get off to a rocky start with Maren’s older brother, Liam (forbidding any relationship and Joe posturing a bit, but as they start spending more time together, they realize how well suited they are for one another.
Their connection felt organic as it happened over the course of a few months. And while there was an instant attraction, the love developed as they worked together not only in a professional capacity but as friends. Joe’s support and encouragement of Maren as she tried to figure out her next steps helped her see that it was okay to not have everything figured out and that she could listen to her heart.
Maren’s innate ability to connect with Joe’s children was so touching to see. She saw a need to help out and stepped in. Not in an effort to get close to Joe, but out of the goodness of her heart and a genuine connection with Anders and Lucy. I also appreciated the representation of a child on the Autism Spectrum, especially a female. There was a good balance of the tough moments, but also the joy. And while it broke my heart to see how their birth mom treated them, it was clear what a great, loving dad Joe was.
This book felt like a breath of fresh air. Exactly what I needed. A breezy, exceedingly lovely romance that I could completely immerse myself in. Maren is instantly captivating and her chemistry with Joe had me reading at the breakfast table in order to finally get them to kiss. The setting of this book is one I'm familiar with (Wisconsin! Spotted Cow reference for the win) and there were times even I, noted hater of the outdoors, wanted to be on a boat fishing for muskie.
I loved Maren's journey of discovery here, starting over in a place that was familiar to her and felt like home and questioning...well, why can't this be home? And Joe, sweet Joe who is just trying his best with his lovely children. I needed everything to work out for them. I love romances where it seems like the characters just fall into each other and this is that book. Wonderful chemistry and character development and just the sweetest, coziest romance that I absolutely needed.
Thank you so much to St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you St. Martin’s for the gifted eARC of Catch and Keep! I loved it!
Why — WHY! — did I wait so long to read Erin Hahn? This sweet and spicy romance featuring a single dad and a famous fisherwoman is set in the Northwoods of Wisconsin (love!) and has all the charm I’ve come to expect from the midwest. The book just FEELS like a hug. It features so many tropes — second chance, friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, single parent — but never feels cliche. I always love when rom coms feature strong female friendships and Catch and Keep brings it in spades with Maren’s two best friends. Apparently this is the third in the series and the first two featured each of the BFFs, but you don’t need to read those to love this one.
This is the perfect fall read to cuddle up with, especially if you love single dad MMCs, strong and independent FMCs, and books set in the Midwest!

Outdoorsy Maren has her park promotion stolen out from under her by her supposed boyfriend. Licking her wounds she returns home to northwoods Wisconsin to claim an inheritance and regroup. Bolstered by friends and family and faced with a bait shop that needs loads of repair Maren quickly immerses herself in her hometown.
Then there is Joe, single father and her brothers best friend. Despite her brothers displeasure Joe and Maren fit seamlessly which is such a nice twist to a romance.
They are made for each other and his children are written beautifully. Joes daughter’s autism is skillfully depicted and fully understood. There always has to be some push and pull to a romance or there is no story, but this one is joyful. I have read Erin Hahn before but this is my favorite. Thank you Netgalley.and St Martins Griffin for the read.
I truly enjoyed this book. I loved the romance as well as the representation of special needs parents. The setting & romance was adorable and I can't wait to see what this author does next.
This book had so much emotion and so much laughter. There are family dramas and angst. There’s even a little bit of taboo in that Maren’s big brother is Joe’s best friend. However, there’s also so much love and support and growth in this book. No one in this precious little family is quite the same at the end as when they started, and that just made my squishy marshmallow heart so happy. I loved watching these two find their way over, around, and through the obstacles that could have kept them apart, but instead served to show them, and us, just how special what they were developing was. I loved getting the chance to see where some of our previous leading couples are now, but I hate that the book is over already. I think I need to start back at the beginning, because I’m not ready to let go of any of these characters yet.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book through NetGalley.
*full review to come - thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, St. Martin's Press, for the early copy, all thoughts and opinions are my own*
If there is one universal truth to be acknowledged, it's that [for me] Erin Hahn truly never misses. From her powerful yet joyful YA novels to her steamy yet poignant adult romances, her books are always one I'll be happy to add to my collection. Catch and Keep is the third and final novel in her "standalone romance series" following three badass female best friends and the men who come into their lives, or perhaps back into their lives after some time, and the love they develop for each other. This time we follow Maren, a park ranger who, within the first chapter, rejects her boyfriend's proposal, vomits on his shoes, packs up all her stuff, puts in for a leave of absence at work, and drives miles away to the small town of her childhood where the town's fishing expert has left her his old cabin after he passed. She needs some time away from her recent life to bring what she's really after back into focus. The pixels she didn't quite plan on appearing so clearly are her older brother's best friend, Josiah, recently divorced with two adorable children who think the world of him. As the two spend more time together they realize their lives are bound to become more intertwined as the days go on.
I loved Maren and Josiah (Joe), individually and as a couple. Maren is lost and can be wayward, but she's strong-willed and level-headed and, once she finds something she loves, she never lets it go. And Josiah is the embodiment of respect and protection, while possessing all the love and care in the world for who and what he loves. Brother's best friend is always a hard sell for me, especially when there's a bit of an age gap and it's constantly mentioned "what would Liam think?," but Maren and Joe can be so in sync that there is no one in this fictional universe that are better for them than each other.
With everything going on in Erin Hahn's personal life, I'm not sure if we'll be getting more books from her in the future - and if we do it won't be for a while and they'll be through an entirely changed lens. However, I am proud to have experienced her writing and storytelling, and her characters will live on in my heart for a very long time. Please pick up Catch and Keep when it releases, and support authors wherever you can.
Brother’s best friend and single dad, wrapped up in a cozy romance. I enjoy Erin’s writing and characters. The setting of this story is perfect for fall.
Thank you to the publisher for the advanced copy!
I really enjoyed this! I love all of Erin Hahns books. They are light but emotional. Sweet and fun romance novels. The perfect rainy day or fall read. I didn’t love this as much as built to last but it’s hard to compete with Cam and Shelby. But I do love the cameos.
The setting makes me want to take a trip to Wisconsin to fish even though I have zero patience and don’t like bugs. I wanted to be outside if fall on lake so bad while reading this.
I will admit I’m not one for the single dad trope but Anders and Lucy might be the exception. It was the perfect amount of kids but not too much.
I throughly enjoyed this book. I enjoyed all three books in this world and I can’t wait to see what Erin Hahn will write next.
I truly loved every minute and every page of this special story that made me feel a range of emotions. This story was wholesome, heartwarming and funny but also touched upon some important, heavier topics. Every single character in this story was likeable (except Liam at times) and there’s even an adorable pup, Rogers! The trust, respect and support Maren and Joe offered one another was refreshing and I enjoyed watching their love unfold. The lakeside resort setting was fun and I loved the fall vibes. Lastly, I loved that the chapters were song titles. It made reading this even more fun because I played the song before reading each chapter- such a unique twist. 🎶 I highly recommend this sweet and spicy read!
Catch and Keep is a mature couple romance and I loved it. There is messy, there are kids and a lack a free time, problems and things needing to get done and nothing could be more real. I loved how they worked together to find a balance and how even with a child that is on the spectrum they found a way to just be happy as themselves. Adorable perfect and highly recommend.
A fantastic cozy contemporary romance that will keep you warm on those chilly nights. It really is the perfect book to snuggle up under a blanket and immerse yourself into the world of Maren and Josiah. Maren is a recently single Park Ranger that escapes to her childhood home in a resort town in Northern Wisconsin where she inherited an old bait shop and apartment. Her plan is to renovate the bait shop and then get back to her life of a Park Ranger until she starts spending time with her older brother's best friend, Josiah, who is recently divorced with 2 young children. Even though she tries to keep her distance the pull he and his children have on her is just too much.
Told through the dual points of view of Maren and Joe, this is a wonderful heartwarming book. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and truly felt like I was a part of this amazing resort town. I felt like Maren was my good friend that would take me out on the lake to show me the best places to fish while filling me in on all the ups and downs of her romance with Joe. It was a superbly written older brother's best friend trope. You could feel the tension between them and was a true will they or won't they. Joe's children, Anders and Lucy, were a huge part of this story. Their mom all but abandoned them after the divorce and she does not want to admit that Lucy has special needs as an autistic child. So, when they let Maren care about them and they started to care about her as much as she did them it melted my heart. The relationships in this book felt very real and not forced at all. I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end.
I highly recommend this book. Though it is the third book in a trilogy you can easily read it as a standalone, although I do recommend reading the other two first because they are fantastic, too.
All of the opinions in this review are my own and I am extremely grateful to St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read a digital advanced copy of this fantastic slow burn romance through Netgalley.
This book was swoon worthy with fall vibes to boot! The love story between the main characters felt genuine (though a little quick) but also has substance and difficult real life challenges that many people face. I laughed at the wit in this book but also got emotional at some points with Maren and Lucy’s relationship. So many great tropes in this book, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a little bit spicy romance read. I look forward to reading other books by this author. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advanced copy of this great book!
Thank you Netgalley and ST. Martin´s Griffin, New York, and thank you Erin Hanh for this ARC.
4.5 stars.
Cozy is the accurate word to describe this story.
This was a very beautiful heartwarming story about love and giving yourself a second chance.
Maren´s journey finding what she wants in life is really inspiring. At first it seem she is scared of going backwards with all the changes in her life, but I loved how “down to earth” she was toward Josiah and his kids.
Josiah is such a bighearted man, I like that he is very kind despite how difficult the situation is for him. His kids are very lovale characters. I find the representation of the autism and the perks of being a single parent respectful.
This story is romanctic and very “grownup” at the same time. Maybe yhe only complain here, is tha I would have liked more drama thowards the stalker situation, but I like how things ended.
I loved all the characters and the setting makes me wanna go on vacations.
4.5 Stars - This is a type of book I am going to eat up every time. I love any kind of Forbidden Love (this is Brother’s Best Friend) and I LOVE a single parent because seeing a love interest fit into a family is one of my favorite things to read, and the parenting moments in this book were definitely the highlight for me, and also what made me cry. Loved the neurodivergent representation and looking at it from a parent perspective. I think my only critique is that Maren’s brother drove me nuts, although I think that’s completely intentional. Despite Maren being 33, he treats her like she is 19. Being 35 myself, I was just bothered; however, I am an only child so maybe that sibling dynamic is realistic.
I loved Shelby and Lorelai's love stories, and I have to say I love Maren's just as much. This book had all the fantastic tropes: small-town romance, brother's best friend, and single dad. I was here for everything. This book was so easy to enjoy. I liked the found family aspect and how easily Maren fit in with Joe and his kids. The fishing aspect was also super cool. What was great about this book was that there was also no third-act breakup. Maren and Joe communicated rather than running away from the relationship, and I loved that so much. I'm so sad that this little inter-connected series of standalone is over because I would read so much more in this world. Such an incredibly delightful book! Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the ARC to read and review!
This was my first Erin Hahn book and I will definitely look for more! I enjoyed her characters and how she developed them. The story hooked me from the beginning with it being set up north in a fishing The ups and downs for the characters were definitely felt by the reader.
Thank you Net Galley, St. Martin's Press and Erin Hahn for the opportunity to preview this novel. It is available Oct. 15, 2024, just in time for you to cozy up by the fireplace and enjoy it!
