I just didn't vibe with this book... the writing was mediocre. Several passages where EVERY sentence just started with "I".
The story felt lazy. The time travel aspect wasn't fleshed out enough. So many missed opportunities when I just wished we would've gotten more information and the author just went "But these things aren't important so let's move on" or "lols sorry Im rambling let's talk about something else"
The "big conclusion" at the end fell so flat it's not even funny.
Characters were solid. I liked how there was no man in sight. Literally only 1 guy in the whole book. All lesbian, self-loving goodness.
I wouldnt recommend this book for anyone but honestly if you like time travel, heist, sapphic shit? And don't mind the writing being choppy and unsatisfying at points?I say just go for it 🤷🏻♀️
Very interesting book with a lot of threads to follow. You have time travel, parallel worlds, bank heists, some romance and a leading lady with personal growth. A book you have to keep your focus on but also one that pulls you in effortlessy. Just don't expert an explanation for everything, but if you want to know whats it like to be a time traveler / chef you can follow along for a part of the ride in this book. Believe me, it's well worth your time.

Okay. Took me way more time than I initially planned but I finally finished this book!
First off, I love the way this book starts. It is like a slap in the face to wake up and get ready for the ride that is this story, but I do have to say, even though the author reminds us a couple of times of the beginning, I do have to be honest and say that I, as a certain point, I had no idea who the author was talking about when he mentioned Darwin (At first, I thought it was Charles Darwin, turns out I was incredibly wrong).
Now, the writing was very cool, because it feels like the protagonist, Chloe Cross, is directly walking us through fases of her life, and sometimes even stops to make sure we're following everything. It was fun to take a break sometimes and just read her "talking to us, the reader".
The story is very, very intricate. The ups and downs, the twists and turns, the shocks and it all. Plus, the time travel and the romance are so good! Although, I do wish that we maybe had an explanation for how Chloe can time travel.
The synopsis is perfect and super captivating for a book that will surely fill your expectation.
On a last note, I would love to know the connection between the title and the story, because I can't seem to figure that one out!
Signing off,
B.

Echo Chamber had so much potential to be a show stopper of a novel, but for me, it fell flat. The description of the book and what the book actually entailed were incredibly different and what I thought I signed up for was not what I got.
The devices used to tell the story make sense, Chloe is an incredibly unreliable narrator and this leads to some of the issues I felt with pacing. One of my biggest problems was that the book, written very conversationally, almost like a diary, didn't maintain a uniform voice. The attempts at fourth wall breaks with jovial commentary were jarring and often pulled me out of the story.
Worse than the commentary was all of the sex within the book. I don't take issue with including sex for character and or plot development, however, the way that it was written felt like a fetishization of sapphic relationships and did nothing to further character or plot progression.
honsestly the premise to this book was very interesting... and there was interesting aspects but unfortunately it did fall flat for me personally. i was left feeling a little confused at time and had no clear plot till 30% for me. the author is definitely creative, it just was a mid book. 2/5 stars
