Olivia Wildenstein is an author I regret not finding at her indie stage because I want ALL the editions of these books. These were a cut above normal fantasy romance novels, the FMC never at any point made me roll my eyes and I also felt attached to the MMC. I will be bringing this book up to the bookclub I run at my bookstore, it was a really solid read.

The start was a bit bumpy and I found Fallon annoying at times but after the first quarter of the book I found myself enjoying the plot and getting invested, I couldn’t put it down. There is some good character development though I feel Fallon could have used a bit more.

It’s an easy and entertaining read and perfect for fans of Fortuna Swan.

House of Beating Wings by Olivia Wildenstein is a young adult fantasy romance that starts off a bit slow but quickly picks up pace, making it hard to put down once the action and intrigue start to unfold. The world-building gradually comes together, and as the story progresses, it all makes sense and becomes incredibly engaging. The plot twists were thrilling—while I saw most of them coming, they were still fun to experience and added to the excitement. If you can push through the slower start, it’s definitely worth it for the twists and the fascinating world the author has created!

Great fantasy. The whole series has been an interest of mine and have created a little book club with my friend group.
Folklore from Celtics culture makes the book even more interesting.
Definitely a book that you have to power through in the beginning buy it is so rewarding once you get through.

I'll always love an epic fantasy romance, and this one had the perfect combo of Sarah J. Maas vibes with unique characters and storylines. Though as much as I enjoyed the romantasy elements, I did think this book as a whole felt a little longer than necessary and suffered some pacing issues. The protagonist also had a tendency to get on my nerves, especially in the beginning, but to the author's credit, Fallon does get some decent development and by the end I found myself rooting for her. Overall an enjoyable read, but probably not amongst my favourites in the genre.

I can handle a lot of things but I cannot handle a main character who is stupid for the sake of being stupid, I cannot handle the “I’m a precious virgin” plot and I cannot handle the fact that I was able to skip WHOLE, MULTIPLE chapters and still not lose sense of the plot. Where was the editor?

LOVED!!!!! LOVED this book so much. I loved this slow-burn romance and I know this will be a great series to read. I enjoyed the medieval Italy setting and some other folklore, it just gave a really worldly story.

My biggest pet peeve with this one was that it felt a tad too long. I think that the author could have cut anywhere from 50-100 pages out and it would have been faster paced and more engaging to read. That being said I still enjoyed it. The magical system and setting worked well for the story and I think that how the characters started works well so they can grow over the course of the series.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

A half-fae woman with no magic finds herself failing upward to her destiny, with no shortage of love interests, she stops at nothing to do what she thinks is right for her family and friends.

I wasn't into the New Adult story at first, especially since the whole plot gets driven forward by the FMC's "bad choices", but I finally got into it when she sets off to find the other 4 crows.

I wish the author had a different title that didn't ride the romantasy hype train.

I understand why a lot of romantasy books/series are being rereleased (ACOTAR), but House of Beating Wings could've used a good editing. I found Fallon absolutely insufferable and really had to force myself to finish.

I enjoyed this book so much I bought the first three books and am excited to continue the series. It was different and nice to see my first name as a main character. She was a fearless and loyal MC and I will be recommending this series.

I really wanted to like this book, but I found the main character, Fallon, incredibly naive and in my opinion annoying. I felt like this re-release was trying to find the Maas audience and love but it is way to long and also could have use a good editing.

This is a longggg book, I think a little too long but I still really enjoyed it! I think the beginning could've been tightened up a bit so the set up for the story was smoother. I couldn't stand Dante from the beginning, he gave me the ick, so I was very excited once Lorcan showed up, and to no surprise he stole my heart!! I HATED the sex scene with Dante and Fallon, it was so uncomfy to read, obviously that was the intention but it was still really hard. I feel like the second one is going to slap, and I can't wait for more of Lorcan and his little bird!

Thank you to Sourcebooks and Netgalley for my advanced copy.

I was so excited by the premise of this book. I love most everything fae, so I was excited to see this re-release bring light to it while illuminating Italian heritage. Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with Fallon, the main protagonist. She felt juvenile at times, and while I appreciate the love she has for her mother and Nonna, I couldn't understand her motivation for half of the choices she made, even early on in the book. This one wasn't for me, but I can see how other romantasy readers would enjoy this greatly.

As soon as I began reading House of Beating Wings, I was completely absorbed. My heart was grabbed by the magic of this magical world filled with fae and I was unable to let it go. Amidst the pages of this book there were moments of danger and heart-stopping moments. There were times when compromises were made and consequences attached.

I thought that House of Beating Wings was an amazing start to a new series of books as I could see the characters and story-line leaping right off the pages. With a richly imagined world, a dark and lush storyline, and characters who were well written and well thought out, House of Beating Wings was an awesome start to a series.

The romance in this book will keep you on your toes, I found it very fascinating how the story unfolded. As I vacillated between Antoni and Dante, I liked both of them for different reasons and couldn't decide which was my favorite outcome.

The characters and plot of this book kept me glued to the pages and it consumed every spare second I had to read. The ending left us right where we needed to be, but I can't wait for the next book to come out. I need to know what happens next.

During the course of the story, my heart was pounding hard and I was beyond excited. It was absolutely brilliant, and I was completely captivated! House of Beating Wings would be a great read for anyone who enjoys slow-burn romance, unique magic systems, and the ever so loved 'touch her and die' vibes.

Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOK for providing the eARC.

The author did an excellent job with the plot and keeping the majority of the characters unique while being sympathetic. I adored the unique world-building that included Italian elements. I am really excited to learn more about the magic system and the kingdom of Luce in the upcoming book because I was so engrossed in it on the first book!

Sadly, I really wasn't fond of the female main character, Fallon. I found her obsession irritating since she was so ignorant and preoccupied with her interpretation of the meanings of the prophecies. She had the attitude of a cranky teenager, and I couldn't tolerate it. The romantic scene with Dante and her obsession with him also didn't sit well with me.

Nevertheless, I must admit that I genuinely adored Lore! Definitely one of my favorites, and I genuinely can't wait to see more of him in the upcoming book. I found him to be quite fascinating, and after we got more of him, I thought the tale really took off.
I really enjoyed the side characters, particularly Sybille and Phoebus. I really enjoyed Phoebus' story and I'm hoping the second book has more of his romantic side story.

I believe that if you can look past the main character, you will enjoy this book a lot. I hope to she development of her character in the next book, that would make this series so much better.

This is my first by this author though I have a different series in my tbr. I loved the premise of this. Our FMC, Fallon, is not sheltered. But she is naive. She’s been in love with the fae Prince for ages. But she lacks the pointy ears of the full fae and, as such, is a second class citizen. She did annoy during the first half of the book. I did enjoy her friend with the sea serpent. Then an oracle tells her of a quest where she can become queen. The story picked up for me the longer the quest went on. I thought the magic of the world was interesting and the crows even more so. I’m very interested in Luce and I’m hopeful for a little more growth from Fallon. I will definitely be continuing with this series.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the arc. All opinions are my own.

What a ride! I had no idea I needed a story about Crows in my life, but I absolutely did!! I loved that this was a unique take and not the typical romantasy. The writing is fantastic, the story is fast paced and I was pulled into the plot right away. The world building is well done and I really felt for Fallon and her friends. Lore….phew, can’t wait to see more of him in the next book. All around fantastic adventure and I highly recommend!!
