A combination of food, a music festival and Cornwall. Jodie Parker and her fiancé, DCI Nathan Withers had rather hoped for an incident free break running a pie truck, but as ever a murder needs solving! These are a great series as Jodie works out what is important to her and solves teh crime.

An entertaining cozy mystery and a great addition to the series. The story blends suspense, humor, and charm and is both gripping and delightful . I loved following along with Jodie and friends on this investigation in the picturesque Cornish setting. There were several twists and a surprise near the end.
Many thanks to Harpercollins and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

A new installment in the Nosey Parker series ... oh yes !
This book follows Jodie to a music festival. Of course, this is not a holiday outing for her, she is working a foodtruck for a friend who is attending his daughter's wedding. Nathan is using his precious vacation days to be with Jodie ... and heating pies, Jodie's mom and daughter are both attending the event as well so there's definitely room for shenanigans and for readers who've been following this series to catch up with beloved characters... until there is a murder.

A once famous singer is found dead on the beach on the second day of the festival. Jodie had actually witnessed him getting into an argument with some of his former bandmates the night before. Could one of them be responsible for his death?

Even though he is on vacation, Nathan of course begins to oversee the investigation. Being right there means Jodie is on the case as well and can she really help questioning suspects and witnesses while they buy her pie ?

This was fun to read, well written, fast paced and well plotted, I so enjoyed my reading ! I will be waiting for the next book !

The Cornish Campsite Murder whisked me away to a lively Cornish music festival where Jodie and her fiancé, DCI Nathan Withers, find themselves at the heart of a murder investigation when a former rock star is found dead. Having the opportunity to witness the festival atmosphere through Jodie's eyes, with its food trucks, band dynamics, and colourful characters, was a real treat.
I quickly became invested in the mystery surrounding the rock star's death. While familiar with the series' recurring characters, this instalment provided enough backstory to stand on its own. I particularly enjoyed the humorous banter between Jodie and Nathan, and the portrayal of their close-knit family dynamic added warmth to the narrative.
Solving the mystery's resolution is somewhat predictable, but I was pleasantly surprised by a few unexpected twists. The investigation unfolds at a steady pace, dropping clues and introducing red herrings, which kept me engaged until the very end. If you're looking for a light-hearted yet engaging cosy mystery with a charming cast of characters, I highly recommend giving "The Cornish Campsite Murder" a try!

I’m a hugh fan of Fiona Leitch’s Nosey Parker series and this book was no different. A cosy crime set in Cornwall that keeps you turning the pages. The characters are funny and chaotic, which makes for a fun and entertaining read. Each book just gets better and better, can’t for no. 8.

Jodi and Nate are having a bit of a busman's holiday. They're off to a music festival but they'll be slinging pies in a food truck for a friend who is missing the festival in order to go to his daughter's wedding. Also at the festival are most of a band that Jodi recognizes. Somewhat belatedly as she had actually catered for two of them recently. And this was a band she LOVED in her twenties.
It turns out they are performing, but not the whole band. The lead singer won't be performing with them. But when Jodi is sneaking a pee in the VIP tent, she overhears the lead singer having an argument with some of the current band members. When he turns up dead later, she is left wondering who could have committed the crime.
If you've read this particular series, you will enjoy this book. If you haven't read this series before, I don't think it's particularly needed.

A great addition to an incredible series! Wonderful characters in an incredible setting. This book will keep you guessing until the end.

Another good book in the series although it can be read as a standalone. Being familiar with the main characters already means you only need to get to know the new ones for the book and these ones were very enjoyable. A nice storyline that keeps you intrigued but equally isn't complicated/confusing that it leaves you wondering what you are reading about. A great book for reading on holiday!

This is another well-crafted cozy that does not require reading the previous books since plenty of back story is offered. I went to my share of concerts in my younger days but the only camping out I did was standing in a line for the concert tickets. If the concert venue had required camping I might not have seen any concerts, but we also didn’t have awesome food trucks. This is the 7th installment in the Nosey Parker Cozy Mysteries aka my British cookbook collection. Jodie and family are taking a little break, well D.I. Hottie aka Nathan Withers, her fiancé is officially on holiday and helping Jodie to sell pies, meat pies out of a Die Hard themed food truck at the local festival/concert venue. It turns out that Nathan won’t be on holiday and he and Jodie will be doing double duty when a former rock star is found dead after reneging on former band mates to get the band back together. Jodie has an in with former rock star Caz Harper. Turns out Jodie catered for Carol (aka Caz Harper bass player for The Burners) and her husband Ian (the keyboard player) and didn’t even recognize them. Between trying not to be a fan girl, making and selling a variety of Die Hard based hand pies, worrying about both her teenage daughter and her slightly flighty mom, Jodie does manage to help Nathan to track down clues and question suspects without losing her cool or her incredible ability to use sarcasm in new and interesting ways. I do so like it when she gets cheeky. Her daughter Daisy can get cheeky too but that is okay because she is cut of the same cloth as Jodie and their interactions are entertaining, heartwarming, and if you have a teenager, they are also informative. I was going back and forth between suspects but was able to suss out who the killer was but not the why. The misdirection is really good and keeps you turning pages plus there is an amazing recipe for Sausage and Leek Hand Pie at the end of the story. I appreciate the Anglicized version since I am not a fan of bratwurst and/or sauerkraut.

My new favorite of one of my go-to Cozy Mystery series. This was so much fun. At this point, this cast of characters feels like a part of my friend group. I adore them all. These books follow Jodie Parker, who resigned from the Metropolitan Police in London after a close call and returned to her native village of Penstowan, in Cornwall, with her teen daughter, Daisy, and their Pomeranian, Germaine.

Jodie opened her own catering company, but old habits are hard to break. She's ended up helping the local police with a few challenging cases. In fact, she's now in a relationship with the handsome DCI, Nathan Winters.

In this installment, Jodie agrees to help a friend by taking his catering van, Pie Hard, for a weekend at a local music festival. The friend makes a killing that weekend, but this particular year he can't make the event, so Jodie offers to run the van for him. Nathan takes time off work to join her, and Daisy had already want to go for the weekend with some girlfriends. Then, you know, Jodie's Mom will want to go too, so she rents a posh yurt on site with one of her friends.

The mystery involves a once famous singer being found dead on the beach on the second day of the festival. Jodie had actually witnessed him getting into an argument with some of his former bandmates the night before. Could one of them be responsible for his death?

Even though he is on vacation, Nathan of course begins to loosely oversee the investigation. And surely, Jodie isn't going to keep her nose out of it. This is a classic whodunit-style of Cozy and I had so much fun with it. I love stories featuring musicians, and this one, set at a music festival, was perfectly catered ((pun-intended)) to my tastes.

I can't recommend this series enough to other Cozy Mystery Readers. Particularly, if you enjoy stories with a fun family dynamic, or small town setting. I truly adore this cast of characters. Jodie's family, her Mom and daughter, and even little floof-ball, Germaine, bring so much humor and light-heartedness to these stories. It's an absolute joy to read. Also, it has just the right amount of humor for my tastes. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but it's still incredibly well-written, paced and plotted. Fiona Leitch is a gem. I am really hoping for more in this series.

Thank you so much to the publisher, One More Chapter, for providing me a copy to read and review. I can't wait to hear if there will be more books coming!

A welcome return to Cornwall where Jodie Parker has a new mystery to solve. A body has been found on the beach at a local music festival where Jodie and her fiancé DCI Nathan Withers were helping a friend by running a Pie food truck.
I love the interaction between the principal characters. They are well developed and likeable. The plot moves at a good pace and has some nice twists that keep the reader enjoying the story. A good summer read.

This lovely Cornish series continues to entertain. I loved the festival setting, and the characters are warm hearted and, at times, hilarious. The relationship between Jodi and her teenage daughter is very touching. The descriptions of the Cornish coast make it a perfect holiday read for anyone going to the area.

This is one of my go-to cozy mystery series so I was looking forward to reading this book! It was a fun, fast, and intriguing read that kept my interest to the end of the book. I loved that it was set at a Music and Art Festival because it added a fun atmosphere to the story. It also helped to keep the characters busy as they worked together to uncover who was behind Lee Roskill's death. The plot had several twists that kept me guessing who did it and why. The reveal was a total surprise! I was glad it had a happy ending. I also liked that a recipe for Sausage and Leek Pie was included in the book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, and One More Chapter for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Perfect for British festival season, this instalment of the Nosey Parker Mysteries finds Jodie and an off-duty DCI, Nathan Withers, running a food van that sells pies at a Cornish music festival. The setting evokes the festival ambience. There is humorous banter, camaraderie between Jodie's family and friends, and the unexpected death of a former rock star. A mystery that Jodie has to help solve. The detailed investigation draws the reader into the story with all the necessary clues and false leads, making this an immersive read. I love the cast of characters, the connection between Jodie and Nathan and the intriguing mystery.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

I love this series and this instalment does not disappoint. Funny but cosy at the same time is a very rare combination but this book has it in spades. The style is easy to read but does not skimp on the intrigue and mystery on ‘who dunnit’. Cannot wait for the next one!

Thank you Netgalley

The Cornish Campsite Murder is the seventh Nosey Parker mystery by Fiona Leitch. Released 9th Dec 2021 by Harper Collins on their One More Chapter imprint, it's 267 pages and is available in paperback, audio, and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links and references throughout.

This is a very well written, whimsical, and appealing cozy series with a caterer as a former-police-inspector protagonist along with her ragtag catering assistants/family and geriatric (inherited) Pomeranian, Germaine. This installment sees Jodie, Nathan, et. al solving the murder of a body found on the beach during a festival. The mystery is well constructed and the characters are well rendered and believable. It's a cozy, with lots of silly dialogue and was an enjoyable, diverting read.

The ensemble cast continues to develop, and the author does a good job with their interrelationships, dialogue, back-story, and setting. Each book feels like a visit with the cast of characters. It works well enough as a standalone, but readers should be aware that they develop over the course of the series, and minor spoilers should be expected if read out of order. Germaine is as adorable as ever, however.

Although it's the seventh book in the series, necessary info is deftly provided, and the mystery and denouement are self contained and satisfying. There are 7 books extant in the series now, with an 8th due out in 2025 from the same publisher, so it would make a good candidate for a long weekend binge/buddy read. There's a whole subgenre with caterers-as-sleuths and this is one of the better ones.

Four stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

Jodie had agreed to man her friends pie truck at the music festival. Partner Nathan is taking some time off from being DCI & helping out. With daughter Daisy attending with her friends & her mother along with her new-age friend it looks like fun especially when Jodie finds out her teen idols are playing. Next morning the body of their ex lead singer is found on the beach with fatal head injuries. Having overheard him in a row with other band members the previous evening it looks suspicious. Looks like Nathan is not going to get much of a holiday & as an ex-cop Jodie won't be able to keep out of it.

This is a great series of books & I'm sorry to say this is only the second I've read. The characters are great fun & the writing style is easy to read. The setting was ideal for a murder & I enjoyed every page. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book. I'll be looking out for the next one.
