This book focused heavily on family drama and healing, both of which I think it handled well. A lot of care and research obviously went into the wine-making aspect of the book, and it was quite enjoyable to learn about through Shelby’s eyes. Though some of the dialogue felt a little forced, I thought that the scenery and descriptions were well written, and I liked the variety of characters that the author included in the book.
Being honest, I found Shelby’s mannerisms a bit too immature for my liking, and made me a bit indifferent to the romance. There were several instances where I thought their attraction to each other felt forced. However, the author did a good job portraying both family members who don’t agree with each what is best for each other and a main couple with very different business approaches, and I enjoyed the secondary plot lines a lot. Many thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, and One More Chapter for this ARC. This is my honest review.
3/5 Grumpy and Sunshine have differing views on modern business.

I liked this one at first, but around the 30% mark, it went a little downhill for me.
I don't think it was a bad book, it was just a little fast for me.
I liked that Shelby had such good friends, Jordan was definitely my favorite.
Ava was the absolute best in this book, the way she didn't back down from her father. I can't wait to read her book.
The only problem I had with the story were Nathan's feelings for Shelby. You're telling me you're IN LOVE with a girl a month after your engagement falls through. Boy, that's your rebound girl. Even if she isn't, he fell way too fast for me, making the story a little too unbelievable.

Unfortunately for me, this has had to go on my DNF pile.
The story was moving way too quickly for me and the chemistry just wasn't there.
Phrases like 'holy swizzle stick' and 'big figging boo boo' did not help to keep me intrigued.
The premise of this book was brilliant, however for me the story and characters fall flat.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGallery and Harper Collins UK, and One More Chapter for this Arc.
I thought it was a cute storyline and the cover was appealing to me. Definitely not a must read in my opinion but a light easy read

Nate steps into the tangled vineyard of Flora Valley Wines, tasked with rescuing it from financial ruin after Shelby's father's passing. Despite their initial clash of personalities, they share a common goal: the success of the vineyard. Yet, navigating the realms of money and soul proves to be a challenge, each holding their own perspective of what true success entails.
📚 This book tiptoed along the three-star line, barely making it. It exuded rom-com charm and cuteness, with a premise and supporting characters I adored. However, the main male character (MMC) was a glaring issue. He epitomized the alpha stereotype, abruptly proclaiming his love with little justification. While I usually enjoy whirlwind romances, this one felt forced. His internal monologues bordered on disturbing, with violent thoughts towards Shelby. It's hard to believe this was meant to be endearing. Shelby, the female lead (FMC), fared better in my eyes, though her tendency to be overly emotional grated on me at times. Nevertheless, her journey through grief and mental health struggles added depth to the story. The conclusion wrapped up neatly, leaving room for potential standalone sequels.
Aside from the problematic MMC, the writing style raised eyebrows. Dialogue felt stilted, and grammar inconsistencies jarred the flow. Furthermore, the dual POV format introduced a bizarre habit of characters conversing with themselves in the third person, sans punctuation to denote the shift. It was an odd choice that detracted from immersion.
🌶🌶 - While there are a couple of steamy scenes, they lack the sizzle expected in this genre.

This book felt like a classic Hallmark romcom, with the cute romance, sweet friendships and funny moments! I laughed from the very first page!
I’m obsessed with the names of Shelby’s pigs: Ham Solo and Luke Skyporker 🐷😂
The whole story felt cosy and I loved the balance between Shelby’s ‘go with the flow’ attitude and Nate’s uptight, serious nature. Like Flora Valley Wines, they’re the perfect pairing 🍷
It wasn’t just a funny little romcom though, there were some deeper subjects explored like grief, depression, mental health and serious health issues ❤️🩹
I loved the short chapters and the dual POV, it was such a quick, cute read!
The romance moved quite fast, despite being put “on hold” for part of the story, they were both declaring that they were falling in love after only a week. And then the ending, with both Nate’s dad’s health and the success of the vineyard, felt a little rushed but matched the fast pace of the whole book 📖
Thank you to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for the ARC of Corkscrew You in exchange for an honest and independent review.

will not rate due to not finishing. This book was not my speed, i tried so hard to get into it but it felt the same as some other books and there wasnt any thing to keep me interested. Thank you t Netgalley for providing me the chance to read.

‘Three things I know for sure: I’m in love with Shelby Armstrong, I still hate that goose and I can never go back to the Cracker Cafe, because I swear to god that Iris will know just by looking at me what we did with her pie.’
Tropes: Forced proximity, Boss x Employee, Found Family, Grumpy/ Sunshine, Grief, Small Town Romance, He Falls First, Cancer Rep, Dual POV.
Flora Valley Wines needs saving & Shelby can’t do it alone. After an investor sends in business savvy Nate Durant to overhaul the winery there’s hate to love, lies & family dilemmas.
If you love a good stereotypical small town romance, with a sprinkle of spice you’ll like this one. Good banter & easy reading romance.
Character highlight: Dylan 🪿😂
The romance in this book is open door, however it feels a little YA & awkward at times for me?
Maybe it’s just not my type of spice, who can say!
One thing I would have loved is more wine talk, to add to the ‘high stakes’ of saving the winery.
I also think the timeline is a bit odd, because a large part of the book & romance takes place in only a week!

First of all the name is so funny, I love contemporary romances with funny names. The fmc is Shelby and my first review of her is that she’s childish. This book does do the whole fmc is naive and uneducated. She wears inappropriate attire for a business meeting. She crashes her car into another persons and doesn’t leave her information and just leaves it. The mmc is Nate, Nate is grumpy but he’s already got the hots for Shelby. He likes her freckles, the way she doesn’t cuss but knows she’s very childish. I can already tell by chapter 4 that there is going to be the miscommunication trope 3/4 of the way in. At one point Nate says Shelby even though she’s 28 looks 12. Which is a whole nother weird. I think if your new to reading, and you want like a starter easy book then this one is great. It’s just not for me. The main characters are kind of annoying. Shelby is blatantly disrespectful, and not her not acknowledging that she dented a luxury car and saying “they’re rich and have horrible taste so it’s fine” is so rude. People dream of having luxury cars and sometimes when they buy one it’s an investment for them. I cannot get over this. I don’t care about the non-cursing. It’s a boundary she has and I respect it. But, she’s constantly being compared to a child because of it which is weird. Over time you find out how difficult Shelby has had her life. She wanted one thing. The family’s vineyard which is apparently very delicious. Nate is hard headed but I will say that they are both fairly honest with each other, and understanding. But it’s still weird. Did I call it? Or did I call it. Not one. But two! Two miscommunications. Overall I think with time it definitely gets better. But I so badly wanted to DNF. The reason I’m giving this book two stars and not one is because I think it’d be a good starter book for people who don’t know what they like yet.

really enjoyed this book, the characters were intriguing and the story was engaging. I'll look out for more by this author.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this one. I really enjoyed this one. I thought it was really cute

From the synopsis, cover and tropes, Corkscrew You should have been the perfect book for me.
Unfortunately it did nothing for me and I really struggled to get past the cringe dialogue, eventually having to DNF it.
I have no doubt there's an audience for this book it just wasn't me.
Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK and One More Chapter for this ARC.

Corkscrew You seemed like it would be right up my alley from the synopsis and the tropes, but this was just for me.

Corkscrew You is a small town romance, sunshine/grumpy romcom. I was excited to read this based on the story synopsis and cover, but it didn’t live up to the excitement. The dialogue is cringy and the writing style sometimes felt like stream of conscious (though I understand the author is trying to show the thoughts of the characters). The MFC’s refusal to curse ends up making this 28 year old winery owner seem juvenile (she refers to sex as bloinky blink and the MMC’s “thingy”). Even weirder is the MMC decided he’s in love by 20% in (note the story begins with him recently being dumped by his former finacee a week before the wedding). The MFC also decides she’s in love very quickly. All of this takes place in under a week and a half. Insane. It felt like one of those terrible Hallmark holiday movies where the main characters are in love and engaged or married after knowing each other for a hot second. Last I’ll flag that the handling of the MFC’s mental health struggles feels wildly unrealistic (she shares that she was super depressed after her father passed but she got some antidepressants, took them for a month and is bow back to normal, no longer depressed, and not taking meds). Overall I wanted to like this book but it was entirely a struggle to finish. I unfortunately couldn’t recommend this.

This was a cute, easy read.
It just took a while for me to get into it because the book starts off very descriptively and didn’t really draw me in at first.

This , omg this, such a fun book, first of all love the setting and the two main characters , perfection, this rom com is so well set up, the side characters make me want to know more about them and definitely expect their own books, this was a easy fun read and will be definitely recommending

2/5 stars
I was super excited for this book. I loved the cover, title, and the synopsis! The story was tough to get through and I found it extremely cheesy, especially because she not just swear and makes up ridiculous words and terms instead. The main characters, Nathan and Shelby seem to fall in love ridiculously fast. I usually am not one for a slow burn but this was warp speed! I’m disappointed because I wanted to love this book!

Thank you to netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advance copy.
I loved the sound of this from the blurb. I love grumpy sunshine and forced proximity. However this book fell flat for me as I didn't enjoy it.
I actually ended up DNFIng at 27%.
I'm sure the right audience is out there for this book. Sadly it wasn't me.

This book was a cute light hearted quick read. I loved both main characters and watching them go from enemies to lovers was so fun!
The instant love aspect was something which I did not enjoy due it being far from realistic especially for an enemies to lovers and I felt the book would’ve been better if it happened a little later in the book. I adored Shelbys family. The book encapsulates grief really well, and in a way that really resonates with readers
Thank you for the e arc

Shelby Armstrong has nothing but deep love for her father's winery, Flora Valley Wines. Since his passing, she's all but killed herself trying to keep it afloat. No matter how much work she puts in, she's just doesn't contain the the business savvy side that is required to bring the business into the black. Enter stage right: Nathan, Harvard business man who happens to know his way around a winery or two (as well as the bedroom as Shelby QUICKLY figures out). When Shelby is forced to bring in an investor to keep the business afloat, Nate is hired to be the brains of the operation so Shelby can focus on making great wine, no matter how terribly this sits with Shelby as she fears that her father's business will be dismantled piece by piece.
However opposite Shelby and Nate happen to appear, Shelby knows she's going to have to play ball if she stands any shot of saving her father's winery. One thing they cannot disagree on is the immediate connection they have toward each other, despite their ability to equally frustrate each other as well. Can Shelby and Nate capitalize on their sexual chemistry in the hope of saving the family business or will their differences bring it all crashing down?
This one has me left with mixed emotions after finishing it. While I think the storyline has promise, I feel like everything happened so suddenly to the point where is just wasn't believable. I mean, by chapter 8 Nate was admitting he was in love already (come on man-make us work for it). Beyond saving the winery and helping Nate's dad not be such a stubborn jerk about his medical decisions, there wasn't much of a story here.
While the characters were great, I felt that the banter between them was just weird and sometimes confusing. I found myself backtracking to try to figure out who was talking and a lot of the references were just lost on me. I felt that the opportunity to dive into those relationships missed the boat a bit and that could have been a saving grace. I wanted to love this one, I really did, but everything just happened so quick, yet it felt like it didn't really go anywhere (quite the paradox right?). Don't let my opinion sway you, give it a read for yourself and let me know your thoughts.
