Great little read, perfect for taking on holiday!
Maya is a planner and always has a list - so when she arrives at the airport to be told her reservation doesn't exist she can't believe something has gone wrong with her careful plans.
Alex is impulsive and books last minute to getaway from a personal situation he'd rather ignore - he never plans ahead and does what he wants when he wants to do it.
This was a fun read and an interesting take on the accidental holiday/romance trope - very enjoyable and a great break from reality
This is a kind of opposites attract rom com with a glamorous holiday setting.
You’ll enjoy travelling with Maya as she goes to Mallorca on a last minute bargain break, only to discover her holiday has been double booked and she has to share with Alex
Mimi Deb does a great job in bringing together the story and the atmosphere of the hotel and Island. A lovely read.
Great romance book by a great author. Loved the story and plot line. The cover is beautiful and will definitely read from this author again
Cute summer read. I don't know what I expected from this one but I did enjoyed reading it..
It was sweet read.
Computer glitch or fate?? A heart warming, lighthearted romance, do opposites attract? A perfect sit by the pool summer time read. This book had me hooked from the beginning
The Accidental Holiday by Mimi Deb is such a sweet and fun romance set in the sun. The story starts off in a way that's super relatable—Maya, the main character, is super organized, and it stressed me out at times, but I totally got her. You get swept up into her world of lists and plans, which makes her trip to Mallorca even more interesting. As she travels to this beautiful sunny destination, you can’t help but fall in love with the setting, the characters, and the slow-burn romance between her and Alex.
Maya is careful and a bit naive, while Alex is more laid-back and really needed to get away from London after a rough time with his friends. By chance, they both end up booking the same vacation to Mallorca and are basically forced to spend time together. It’s a great example of the ‘opposites attract’ trope, as their personalities clash at first but slowly start to complement each other as the story goes on.
One of the things I loved about this book is that it wasn’t over-the-top with drama or romance. It was refreshing that the characters felt real, and the author didn’t rely on too much swearing or unnecessary scenes. Alex was instantly likable, but Maya grew on me as the story progressed. The way their backstories unfolded made their connection feel more natural, and you really root for them as they work through their personal struggles and embrace the unexpected.
Overall, The Accidental Holiday is a heartwarming and light read about taking chances, learning to let go of control, and being open to new experiences. The writing is easy to follow, the romance is sweet, and the setting adds a perfect escape vibe. If you’re looking for a feel-good story that’s both fun and touching, this one is definitely worth picking up!
I enjoyed this book, telling the story of an accidental encounter by two people on their way to a last-minute holiday in Majorca. Due to an error in the booking process they find themselves having to share a luxury suite and get to know each other. We discover their back stories and how they are both starting to heal from previous traumas, as well as enjoying great descriptions of the Majorca scenery which made me want to visit. An enjoyable read and I would recommend.
Enjoyable read, Lovely summer romance that leaves you feeling good. A bit of a slow burn but worth the wait.
The Accidental Holiday by Mimi Deb is a sweet and fun romance in the sun. We loved how this story began, it was relatable, laugh out loud at times and somewhat chaotic in the very orderly structure set by Maya, who stressed us out at times, yet we understood her completely. It felt like we were swept up into her life and her lists almost immediately. And as we travelled to the beautiful sunny Mallorca with her, we fell in love with the scenery, the characters, and a good love story about finding yourself, embracing change, and relinquishing a tight and controlled hold on life. Maya and Alex’s story was a slow burn romance of opposite attracts and finding the strength to face your fears and accept surprises of friendships and love.
This was just..fine, I guess. It really wasn't for me overall. The writing wasn't my favourite, I don't love flashbacks at the best of times but something that happened a few hours ago?? That's a bit much. I didn't love the characters, especially the main character she was painful. I just wasn't engaged at all while reading

"The Accidental Holiday" is a feel-good read that celebrates the beauty of life’s unexpected twists and the importance of being open to new experiences. It’s perfect for fans of romantic comedies that leave you smiling and believing in the possibility of love at first sight, or rather, love at first unexpected holiday. Mimi Deb has crafted a story that is both heartwarming and uplifting, making it an ideal read for those looking to escape into a world where the best things in life often come by accident.
A lovely, lighthearted romance. A different storyline about two people that book the same holiday at the same time.
Great characters and a good storyline.
A summer time read, perfect for a sunny beach holiday. With a slow burn romance that will keep you hooked from page one.
The perfect setting with some great tropes such as only one bed and forced proximity.
It was slightly predictable at times but still an overall enjoyable read.
Fun, easy summer read. I'm not sure I found the premise of two people booking the same oliday at the same time believable but I did enjoy this story. The characters were all believable and the location was perfect for a summer read.
A good lighthearted romance. Although a little far fetched that 2 people could try to book the same holiday offer at precisely the same time, it made for a good take. The characters were easy to like and the book passed some time for me.
I enjoyed this, it was a light easy summer read. The MCs had great enemies to lovers banter. The hotel owner was a great side character and probably my favourite character. Perfect beach read.
The Accidental Holiday is a sweet and refreshing romance novel which captures the ‘proximity trope’ really well.
Maya is a cautious and slightly naive character who decides to splurge on a last minute, 5 star holiday. She’s read the reviews of the hotel, visited Trust Pilot and knows she’s got herself a great deal, waiting until midnight to ensure her salary hits her bank account before booking the night before she leaves.
Happy go lucky Alex needs to get out of London, fast. He feels betrayed by some good friends who were with him at his lowest and now feels completely on his own. Stumbling out of a disastrous party, he sees the same ad Maya did and clicks to book - at the exact same time.
Forced together for the duration of the holiday, the novel weaves its way through their back stories and how they ended up in Mallorca at the same hotel.
This was actually a very refreshing read as there was no gratuitous swearing or sex for the sake of it. Well done to Mimi Deb for creating likeable characters (Alex I liked straight away but Maya definitely grew on me) and a plot that was interesting enough to keep me turning pages. Many thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
God I love a holiday romance, I immediately knew I wanted to read this with the plot, doesn’t it sound incredible?
Well the story is better than even I anticipated! It was a fun holiday romance with the right amount of tension, wit, humour and a good old slow burn. The setting was perfect, the characters were great and I just honestly really enjoyed it!
I loved the storyline of this book. A dreamy, last minute luxury holiday booked to escape but ends up being a double booking in the Sunset Suite. I just couldn’t get onboard with connection between the two main characters, Maya and Alex. Whist Maya was interesting and some of the story focuses on her rising above her own insecurities I just don’t think there were enough moments to build an interest between her and Alex. The descriptions of Mallorca did make me want to explore the island and be on my own holiday there.
The perfect by the pool (or wishing you were by the pool!) holiday read. Yes it’s perfect for fans of Emily Henry, yes it uses some popular tropes (stuck together, opposites attract etc) but above all it’s just a really fun piece of escapism that’ll have you rooting for Maya (and Alex plus a cast of other great characters) and wishing you were in Mallorca too!
