Maya is my kind of gal, super organized, efficient, but with a yearning to travel. Even though all of the rhyme and reason in her whispers not to go on the trip to Mallorca, she decides to throw caution to the wind and go! Alex is the exact opposite and does not think twice about treating himself to a 5-star resort in Spain. When they end up at the same resort, accidentally booked in the same room, and so begins that beautiful slow burn, forced proximity! While The Accidental Holiday could have turned into a ruined vacation, taking cruddy circumstances and making the best of them is the attitude I feel like we all probably need to embrace more. The banter between Maya and Alex was cute and overall, this was an adorably fun read!

This was sweet if a little repetitive at times. I loved the idea of being thrown into this situation with a simultaneous booking, and the descriptions of Palma were beautiful. However I didn't feel myself gelling with the side characters or find myself rooting for the main characters, which detached me a little from the plot.
I loved this book, the 2 main characters were brilliant and I really enjoyed the journey both characters took throughout the story.
The book touched on grief, it did this well and left the reader feeling uplifted at the end.
I recommend giving it a read.
Beautiful love story between 2 fairly strong characters. Each chapter changes who is telling the story. Sometimes that's annoying sometimes it isn't!
This book made me feel a bit ‘meh’. Firstly, the actual prose itself, the character development and the plot itself were brilliant. The location of the book is in Mallorca, and the quaint restaurants and places that we visit during the book are super lovely and had me dreaming of shun and holidays. This book also had all my favourite tropes; one bed/room, forced proximity, slow burn romance, grumpy x sunshine vibes (but with the FMC being the grumpy one!). It follows the story of Maya and Alex, who both book a holiday and end up double booked and in the same room. It follows their journey from complete strangers to roomies and more!! For some reason though, this book just didn’t do it for me.
I personally feel the FMC was one of the most irritating FMCs I have had the (dis)pleasure of meeting in written words. She’s infuriating, and not at all because she loves rules and control, but I think because she’s just so damn repetitive and expects everyone to solve her problems for her whilst running with the ‘I’m so independent and won’t accept help from anyone’. I was shocked I felt so strongly about her, and its likely others wont feel the same but she was almost this books undoing for me!
I would honestly say from about half way in though, the FMC gets significantly more bearable and I enjoyed the latter half of the story, but prior to the halfway mark I considered stopping reading as she was frustrating me so much! I am glad I finished it though - the ending is as I hoped it would be and I did enjoy the final few chapters.
Thank you to Mimi Deb and NetGalley for sending me an ARC of this book.
A perfect lazy Saturday afternoon read. I loved it . Told in difference chapters by the two main characters Maya and Alex. They are like chalk and cheese . One mistake led to a brilliant story. I loved it. Maya’ s rules were fab for the room . I loved how she planned everything . The music theme in the book was good. Alex was so chilled. A great read. You will love it .
I really enjoyed this book, and it brought a bit of sunshine and summer joy into my life, which is certainly needed with the current forecast! I could see myself on a beach reading this one.
Wasn’t sure how the dynamics of the characters were going to work at first, but as the book developed and characters grew, I could really see the kind of fate that pulled them together. It was great to see their personal developments and growth too, which I think is so important for a good book.
A cheesy and fun romance, covered some important topics too - and it was quite nice to enjoy a book without any spice - it wasn’t needed and wasn’t missed. The perfect summer escape.
I absolutely loved Love In The Menu so I super excited for Mimis latest book! I love a good forced proximity opposites attract book and I think this would make a great beach read! I will be sharing a full thoughts and review very soon as I am catching up on reviews due to a health issue.
Absolutely loved this hot summer read. The characters where fantastic and the location made me want to go there! A really beautiful love story of two people unexpectedly thrown together. Definitely destined to be together.
