The author was a physics professor at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. His concentration was on nuclear physics, which developed into a focus on arms control and national security. And that led to his forming the university's Arms Control and Peace Studies Center. Through that center, he invited speakers from the Soviet, Iranian, and Chinese governments.
His expertise and experience led the CIA to him. They brought him on as a "Scholar in Residence", which expanded into a 25 year dual career with the CIA and as a university professor.
Paldy worked to teach CIA and FBI recruits how to exploit the other countries scientists and diplomats, in order to help the United States.
I found the CIA training he initially received to be interesting. As well as some of the stories he related that happened during his long career.
This isn't 'James Bond' type of adventure. It is mostly academic information, and often pretty dry. It did give me a chance to expand my limited knowledge of the CIA.
