Running away to the beach with your besties to avoid your problems sounds great. But if you do it during hurricane season you might disappear inside the storm. This book follows the ladies through the life crises they are running away from and the search for them once the storm clears out.
I found this to be a compelling read. Each woman has an aspect that everyone can relate to, and that relativeness makes it easy to care about each of them. I wanted to know their entire story and cheer them on through the battles they faced.

This book had me from page 1. The story of these women and the circumstances of their lives but their ability to bind together when they need each other most to overcome the fear of being lost. Each character was developed perfectly and I found myself feeling lost in the story. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for my advance copy!

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach by Kalan Chapman Lloyd is a poignant and captivating novel that delves into the lives of three women caught in the turmoil of a life-changing hurricane. Set against the stunning backdrop of Florida's 30A, the story centers on Arden, Cilla, and Mary Fran, each facing pivotal moments in their lives. Arden is struggling with personal crossroads, Cilla is confronting a terminal diagnosis, and Mary Fran is mourning the loss of her husband while navigating secrets left behind.
The novel masterfully weaves themes of love, loss, and resilience as the women bond through shared memories, arguments, and meals, all while grappling with their individual struggles. Their relationships, both tested and strengthened by the hurricane's devastation, highlight the beauty of chosen family and the unyielding hope that persists even in the darkest of times.
As the search for the missing women unfolds, Lloyd’s evocative storytelling keeps readers on the edge of their seats, questioning not only the fate of the sisters but also the enduring power of hope and connection. The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach is an inspiring, emotional journey about the strength of the human spirit and the unbreakable bonds that hold us together, even when everything else seems to be falling apart.

Gosh I wanted to LOVE this book. Everything about the premise appealed to me - the setting, the characters, the plot. In the end, I liked it, but I didn't love it the way I expected to. It wasn't the story or the characters, really - it was the way the story was told. It jumps between points of view, it jumps between time periods. And I don't mind multiple points of view or timelines if they're done well. But here it just made it feel disjointed and it was unsettling for me as a reader. It's possible that it was intentional since the characters were feeling a bit disjointed and unsettled in their lives. If so it worked, but not in a good way. The multiple points of view also resulted in a lot of repetition, with events being told from two or three points of view.
There were definitely parts I liked - as a resident of the Florida Panhandle it was a very accurate depiction of the area, and I recognized not only many of the places and locations mentioned, I also recognized the feelings about some of the visitors who frequent the area. (And yes, it was fun to see the small town where I live mentioned.) It was clear the author has spent time here. And as I said I liked the overall story, of a trio of "sisters" who have a long history of friendship despite their differences. I liked those flawed women. I liked the story of lives imploding and secrets being revealed, a figurative storm set against the backdrop of a literal one, an approaching hurricane. And I particularly liked the last couple of chapters, I just didn't always enjoy the long and winding road to get there.

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach by Kalan Chapman Lloyd is a heartfelt and poignant exploration of family, loss, and healing. Through the lives of three sisters—Arden, Cilla, and Mary Fran—the novel delves into the complexities of aging, illness, and the desire for change. Set against the tranquil beauty of Blue Mountain Beach, the story weaves together personal struggles and emotional growth as the sisters confront their individual challenges. With themes of love, regret, and the power of sisterhood, this novel beautifully captures the fragile nature of life and the strength found in family bonds.

Kalan Chapman Lloyd’s The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach is a heartfelt and atmospheric story about family, love, and healing. The bond between the sisters felt so real, with all its complexities and emotions, and the coastal setting added a layer of beauty and serenity to the story. I loved how it balanced lighter moments with deeper themes of forgiveness and rediscovering what truly matters.

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach takes place at none other than - the beach!. We follow three “sisters” , all dealing with the complexities of life, as they share a house at the beach in anticipation of an impending hurricane. While this storyline felt very predictable, it is probably exactly what someone else is looking for. Wouldn’t recommend it to everyone, but certainly wouldn’t discourage it either.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Nothing was interesting or enjoyable about this book, and it was a dnf.

This was just all around bad. The writing is terrible. It constantly feels like nothing is happening. There are random tense shifts throughout that are very odd...the characters seemed childish and were extremely unlikeable...I'm sorry but it's just not good.

Will the sisters be found? Grab hold of this captivating novel, as it immerses you in a world where love, loss, and the search for answers collide against the untamed forces of nature.
Intriguing story. Loved it. Will recommend to others.

This could have been a wonderful thought-provoking novel had it not been so difficult to navigate. The lack of formatting had the book feeling like it was one long run-on paragraph. There were multiple POV, but they were almost impossible to distinguish.
From what I could tell, each chapter was alternately allocated to a sister and their acquaintances, and while it was interesting, there was a lot of repetition throughout.
Thank you to Netgally and Rebelle Press for the advanced copy. My review was voluntary.

I wanted to like this book more than I did - it was a little confusing with the multiple narratives but the subject was interesting, it had great promise but just didn’t quite fulfil it.
A good light read for a holiday but not one I’ll remember as a Great.

I think the multiple points of view in this story were challenging to follow and confused me a bit. I did appreciate the relationships between the sisters. This book was a bit challenging for me to read due to the overall flow of the novel.

I really wanted to like this book but found it a bit lack-lustre. It wasn't a book that enthralled me but I did like the tale of the three sisters, the family bonding and the drama. I did enjoy certain aspects of it but felt it needed a bit of tightening up to make it a really great read.
I liked the characters and think they work well in this story but overall the story did not hold my attention throughout.
Thank you NetGalley and Rebelle Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach is a story about 3 sisters through life (2 cousins and one friend). It tells of the lives of Arden, Cilla, and Mary Fran by intertwining present and past events. The authors writing style took a little while to get used to as a chapter might start out talking about current events
of Arden and the sisters (for example) then switch to Arden's past with the next chapter focusing on Cilla and continuing in this manner. This writing style seemed choppy to me and didn't flow as well until I got used to it several chapters into the book. Interspersed in the book are pages of descriptions, quotes or opinions of the towns people at the beach. The author starts some of the chapters with the line "The important thing to know about ___ is that she ___." This line along with the descriptions in the book drew me into the story and even had me keeping a list of the important things to know about each of the characters. I found it interesting to learn about the characters trying to figure out why they acted a certain way. At times the book did seem like a random story but it does come together in the end. As I read, I found myself becoming more involved in the character's lives and wanting to read further. I enjoyed reading this book and will look into the other books written by this author. I received a copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach by Kalan Chapman Lloyd was a very tedious novel. I tried hard to like it but the lack of structure with having no chapters, the so called sisters constant whining about every aspect of their lives and the commentary from friends and family was very annoying. Although I finished the novel, I was not a fan. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

If you’re not familiar with 30A and the Gulf, I wouldn’t bother picking this up. While the descriptions made me nostalgic, it plays such a huge part in the story that it’s impossible navigate. I have never seen so many proper nouns in a story. Everything was a brand name. It took me out of the story.

I wish that I loved this book, the cover and the description are so good! Unfortunately, this book fell flat for me. I had a hard time keeping the multiple points of views separate as it felt like there was no end to each chapter. Thank you for the chance to read, and again, I love the cover!

This is a wonderfully told tale of three sisters hunkering doen awaiting a storm.
What follows is their story of family and sisterly bonding. Each sister giving their owm account of struggles in life.
I love this book.. it is beautifully written and filled with drama. It is one of those reads that makes you feel happy to be alive..

Beautiful book cover, just looking at it would make me want to read the book! 3 sisters and a hurricane. Love the characters and their relationships. I really cared about all of them.
