Award for reading a book that sat on my shelf for a year 🏆🏆🏆🏆

This one was better than I expected! It was a perfect thriller to binge read over the weekend - those are my favorite kind 🤩

This one has dual POV and timelines, two mysterious deaths, lots of wine talk and many secrets to uncover.

I went into this one blind and I kinda recommend it! The beginning was a little slow and almost confusing with who was who and all the winery / wine bar / vineyard things going on but it picked up and there definitely were a couple twists that took me by surprise. The way the story is written and how it all unfolds over the course of the book makes it such a solid book and keeps you turning pages!

Till Death Do Us Part is a sharp, page-turning thriller full of secrets, betrayals, and perfectly placed twists. Laurie Elizabeth Flynn keeps the tension high and the pacing quick, making it easy to fly through in just a couple sittings. A solid 4-star read—perfect if you love domestic thrillers with a dark edge.

This was slow moving and very hard to finish. I felt the beginning especially needed editing so it left me feeling a bit of who cares? Overall if it was edited better it could have been a good read.

A mystery suspense with romance intertwined - what's not to love? It is a bit of a slow burn, but pays off in the end.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Till Death Do Us Part by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn in exchange for my honest review and opinion. This is one wild ride of a story set in Napa Valley. Lots of twists and turns that keep you hanging by a thread to see what could possibly happen next. One crazy ending that will make you stunned.

The premises of this story had me intrigued. Unfortunately, the story took a while to pick up and has a lot of unnecessary details. Thisnone fell a little flat for me.

Till Death Do Us Part is an intriguing read that delivers an element of suspense and some emotional depth, but ultimately leaves the reader craving a bit more. While the premise is compelling and the tension steadily builds, some plot threads and character developments feel underexplored. It's a story that took a while to get started and ultimately never really took off.

I just finished Till Death Do Us Part and it really kept me hooked. The story centers on June, whose husband Josh drowned on their honeymoon ten years ago—or so everyone thought. Now, just as she’s finally moving on with a new fiancé and her own wine bar, she starts seeing Josh again. At first, you wonder if it’s just guilt or grief messing with her head, but then she finds a winery in Napa with a guy who looks exactly like Josh. Naturally, June has to go check it out.

What I really liked about this book was how it balanced the emotional side of June’s grief and new beginnings with a mysterious, suspenseful edge. The way June wrestles with the past and what’s real feels really authentic, and the slow unraveling of secrets kept me guessing. It’s not a fast-paced thriller, but it’s got a steady tension that pulls you in. Also, the setting feels vivid—from June’s Brooklyn wine bar to the vineyards of Napa—adding a nice atmosphere to the story.

Final thoughts: If you like thrillers that mix emotional depth with a good mystery and some twists, this one’s worth checking out. It’s thoughtful and atmospheric, perfect if you want something a bit slower but still really engaging.

June had a whirlwind romance with Josh. She found her soulmate. They fell in love quickly and fiery. On their honeymoon, Josh drowned. She was devastated and his body was never found. A decade later, after she rebuilt her life and is getting married - she sees Josh. Of course, she knows she crazy and just seeing him because of her nerves of getting married.... or is she? After some sleuthing she is more confused than before and must get some answers before she marries. Truly can't put it down, so exciting and you'll never guess...

Atmospheric and tense, with a chilling exploration of obsession. The timeline shifts built suspense, though a couple of reveals felt rushed. Still, the dark romance-meets-thriller tone worked well. Creepy in the best way

Did not get to read - have way too many books on the shelf. Need to clear some out. Hope to get to this one in the future though.

Not sure how I feel about this one. June's husband Josh drowned on their honeymoon 10 years ago but his body was never found. It has taken her many years to move on but she now owns a successful natural wine bar in Brooklyn and is engaged. Suddenly she is convinced that she has seen Josh and she can't let that go. She finds a picture on the website for a Napa winery and the owner looks just like her supposedly dead husband, launching a cross country search for the truth of what happened years ago.

The setting and the premise of the story is what tempted me to read it. The story is told in two timelines and there is a lot of details about wine production. There are family secrets and twists but the book was such a s low burn that I lost interest. As others have mentioned, there is a whole subplot that doesn't get resolved satisfactorily but maybe this is by design. None of the characters are likeable, including June, and there are so many tangents that it is hard to follow. This book had all the makings of a good story but sadly it fell short for me. I did appreciate the writing style but just felt that the execution of the story wasn't great.

While I do like a build up to the plot I felt this one was a bit sluggish to start. Ended up skimming a bit until the middle where it picked up a but. Still though, a good psychological mystery and would recommend.

Ummmm this book has a whole subplot that was not in the description. The midway twist was absolutely beyond comprehension and in no way believable. The ending felt unearned and frankly not one character is likeable. Made me want a nice glass of wine though so There’s that .

A slow burn mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat and ends with a huge twist. Definitely won't be my last read by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn.

I told my Bottles & Books members when I selected this one that mysteries are typically not my thing, but drinking wines from Napa would be! I’m happy to say I really enjoyed it and I’m sure the wines Zach will pair with it will be just as good! I’d never describe this as a thriller, but it kept me guessing and pulled me in until the last page.

A great balance of various settings in California vineyards, wine making information, and family secrets and lies, I changed my whodunit guesses a handful of times and found out I was wrong with each one.

A decade ago June’s husband Josh tragically drowned on their honeymoon, and as she surfs the web for locations for her upcoming wedding to Kyle, she finds a vineyard in Napa Valley with a picture of the owner who is a dead ringer for her late husband.

The alternate timeline is from the point of view of Bev, Josh’s mother, over 20 years earlier. These dual timelines were slow burns that had me staying up late to get to the next chapter to see where things would go! Overall it was a fun read with some unexpected spice 🌶️🌶️, some twists and turns I didn’t see coming, and I know we will have plenty to chat about while we taste some of Napa’s finest.

This started off interesting but became quite convoluted while not really doing anything new or particularly interesting. This book relied very heavily on twists and it made the rest of the story feel a bit underdeveloped. The final couple of twists also really stretched credulity. I am generally fine with a mystery that is a bit off the wall but this one seemed to take itself very seriously and then had some unrealistic twists just thrown in at the end with basically no set up. The final twist in this book left a really sour taste in my mouth and I think was largely unnecessary. The book could have concluded without it. The writing is mostly good, and I didn’t have a terrible time with this, but I wasn’t blown away either. Compared to this authors first mystery, this was more of a miss for me.

Till Death Do Us Part was a beautiful love story. It absolutely broke my heart at some points. I loved the woven ties that were discovered and the way everything finished. Highly recommended.

I love my good jaw dropping twists; with slow burn evolving story, the depth of the characters held me engaged till the very end.

Without spoiling too much, this is told from past & present, June has finally come out of darkness only to be plunged in a string of mysteries & reveals that may once again catapult her entire life into the abyss.

Will she find out the truth? When tragedy has already altered her mind, there is so much more a person can take before they crack.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Till Death Do Us Part by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn

Who killed Josh? And is he really dead?

June’s new husband disappears on their honeymoon and is presumed drowned. Ten years later, engaged to Kyle, she thinks she sees him…twice. Is he really dead?

I found this book to be a nice surprise. I thought the idea development and plot line were well done, and a bit unique and not “already done.” It seems that I have found myself skim reading a lot of thrillers lately. I don’t know if I just need to lay low on this genre for a while or if they are just not being pulled off like they used to. But his one was well done. I was intrigued and glued to the story and really enjoyed the journey to the end.

I’ve seen some reviews where readers are upset about one plotline not being fully vetted. But now that I’ve had a chance to process this story, I think that was on purpose…to make us really wonder about whether or not some of the characters were “good” or “bad.” The reason my review is 4 stars (really 3.5) instead of 5 is because of Bev’s decisions and implausibility at the end. Had that made more sense (I have questions), this would have been a solid thriller. (And maybe a little less wine-business…but okay.) The final chapter was quite unexpected and well-done.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title for review.
