McFadden had me hooked at the prologue alone and I immediately knew I was in for a riveting read.
The Housemaid is Watching is a fast paced, twisty thriller which went full throttle at the halfway point and then took us on an insanely crazy ride to the end.
It's been an age since I read The Housemaid, but Millie is one of those recurring characters that you don't forget in a hurry and it was like she'd never been away.
Definitely one of my favourite June reads.

Millie is back! Now she and Enzo are married with two kids and have just moved into their dream home! But their neighbors leave a little to be desired. One is weird and nosy, and one is outright flirty with Enzo. Then other strange things start happening.
This was a fast read, and I loved that this took place 12 years from the last book because it was fun seeing Millie and Enzo as parents. I also love Freida McFaddens sense of humor! The dinner scene at the neighbors made me laugh so much! There were so many sarcastic comments thrown around!
As with all of Frieda's books, there was a twist at the end that I didn't see coming.
There were two small things that kept me from giving this a five-star rating, but I can't say what they were without spoiling the plot.

"I suppose nobody ever suspects the housemaid"
"But it's hard to ever get rid of somebody when they live right next door to you"
This jaw dropping installment to The Housemaid Series was INCREDIBLE. Easily my new favorite Freida McFadden book. There are so many twists and tidbits sprinkled into this book to keep you on your toes in a way that will make it impossible to put the book down.
The book takes place over a decade after "The Housemaid's Secret"- Millie has achieved her goal of becoming a Social Worker and is now married with two kids. They buy a house *ON* Long Island & she thinks she's finally maid-it. (get it, Im so funny). But she wasn't prepared for the new troubles that come with suburban life - nosy neighbors, a family that's keeping secrets from her, and so much more. (Desperate Housewives vibes honestly).
At its core, this is a revenge plot and one entirely different than the other books.
Take into consideration that Millie is no longer a housemaid when reading this...

Millie the maid is back again in a book I did not think I'd love as much as I did! An epic conclusion to the story that took Tik Tok and psychological thriller fans by storm!

Housemaid fans! You are in for yet another treat.
Thanks NetGalley, Bookouture and Poisoned Pen Press for the invite to read this ARC!
Synopsis -
Millie, our beloved housemaid is starting a new chapter of her life. Moving to her dream home on Long Island with her husband Enzo and two kids, she is all set to settle down and provide her children the best possible childhood in this highly desirable neighbourhood. Although the next door neighbours, the Lowells are very welcoming, she can’t shake off the feeling of being ‘watched’ by someone in the shadows. Millie can only wonder if she made the right choice by moving here.
Review -
I was so happy with how Millie’s life has turned out until this point and couldn’t wait to find out what’s behind all this “watching”. Freida uses her classic short chapters weapon, ending them with a hint of doubt, a mini cliff-hanger of sorts that just bolsters the intrigue and suspense factor, as Millie’s family settles down into their new home.
With increased socializing, there comes more trouble for Millie’s family. The neighbours seem creepy, suspicious and just like Millie, we can only wonder what’s going on behind the picture perfect facades and pretty white picket fences.
The twists come fast and furious as the plot gathers momentum and soon we can trust nobody. Unfortunately darkness and hideous unseen forces seem to be a constant shadow for Millie and the ending was anything but what I thought it would be! That’s Freida for you.
I only wished the big reveal was more credible as it felt it had less gravitas or justification & also didn’t deliver highly on the jaw drop element.
However, that said, now get ready to binge read the 3rd in this addictive series with a bowl of popcorn late into your summer night!

"The Housemaid is Watching" is the third book in Freida McFadden's bestselling "The Housemaid" series. The story takes place several years after book #2, "The Housemaid's Secret." Millie is no longer working as a housemaid, and she and her husband and two children have just moved from their cramped apartment in New York City to their dream home on Long Island. But their quiet suburban street is not quite what it seems, and soon Millie may regret her decision to move.
Was another "Housemaid" book really necessary? Probably not. Did I still enjoy it? For the most part, yes. I always say that I'll read whatever Freida writes, and that still holds true. This book wasn't my favorite in the series, but I still managed to read the entire thing on a three-hour flight. It was a fast-paced popcorn thriller full of drama, unreliable characters, and classic Freida twists. I consider myself a quick reader, but it was so binge-worthy that I think anyone could read this in one sitting. Because of the time jump and new storyline, it could definitely be read as a standalone. The book felt much different than the first two books—almost like an entirely new series. The author could have changed the characters' names and backgrounds, and it basically would have been the same book. If you really enjoyed the first two in the series, though, I would still recommend this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Omg this book is the best of all three! At least for me! I did not expect to love this so much! Millie and Enzo? Sign me up! And this time Millie is not the Housemaid, so who is it? 👀
This is very hand gripping, I sometimes cannot read it straight because I need to breathe! So many many questions. I feel like I am in Millie's shoes and we are both very clueless!

I always feel like if I am reading a Freida book that it’s going to be amazing no matter what it’s about. This book was no exception. I absolutely loved it! I am so glad I was one of the lucky ones to get to read it before it was released and I can’t wait to recommend it to everyone. I always think I have the book figured out and I never really do. Thank you for letting me review another of your books before it was released and I can’t wait to tell everyone to read it! Best book I’ve read this year!

Millie and Enzo move into a seemingly perfect neighborhood. They have the house of their dreams and a backyard for the kids to play in. The neighbors seem pretty harmless. Or do they?
The third installment of the Housemaid series follows Millie and her family as they settle into life in the suburbs, thinking that their lives will now be totally normal, only to find out that that couldn't be farther from the truth.
The first 75% of the book comes from Millie's perspective as she and her family settle into their new life. She deals with some strange neighbors, including one who seems to want to steal her husband. This all leads up to the murder of their neighbor. But who did it?
I enjoyed the Housemaid series and was glad to see a third book in the works! The writing was simple and easy to follow, which is pretty typical of Freida McFadden books. I would have likes a little more in the descriptions department, but I know that isn't her style. While the plot was interesting, it wasn't surprising. I enjoyed reading the story but wasn't at all surprised by the twists. Was a third book necessary in this series? Probably not. Did I enjoy it? I did. It may not be my favorite of the series, but it is definitely a good read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press, and author Freida McFadden for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This is Book 3 in The Housemaid series, and I loved it as much as the first one.
We catch up with Millie a few years later as her and her husband Enzo are just moving into their dream home with their two children.
Millie can’t believe they’ve got such a beautiful house and with a garden too she feels so happy.
When she meets one of the neighbours though she’s made to feel inferior. On the surface Suzette seems pleasant but Millie does not trust her. She’s also openly eyeing up Enzo and Millie is fuming.
They are invited over for a meal and despite her own husband being there, Suzette is all over Enzo.
This coupled with their housemaid Martha constantly staring at Millie, makes for an awkward evening.
I won’t spoil what happens next but this is a great story with a few surprises in store.
I love Millie and hope we get another book about her soon.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

The brilliant Freida McFadden has extended her Housemaid series with this third book, The Housemaid is Watching. If you want to see how the primary protagonist operates, you will definitely want to read The Housemaid and The Housemaid’s Secret. In this third book, several years have passed and Millie is now a seemingly happy wife and mother. The question just might come up: With Millie’s checkered past, can she lead a normal, productive life?
Since Millie now has a family, the tone of this book is a bit different than the first two, but it is no less exceptional. In fact, it was another fabulous page-turner by Ms. McFadden. As a maid, Millie had been quite invested in her clients, and this led to very interesting results. Married to Enzo, with two young children, they are about to move to the suburbs, in what just might be Millie’s dream house.
As excited as Millie is, she does have her concerns. For one thing, the cost of the house and impending mortgage payments have her more than a bit worried. As if that is not enough to cause enough stress, Suzette, one of her new neighbors, is rather handsy with her husband Enzo. Then there is the fact that Suzette is extremely nosy. As Millie has shown on previous occasions that she does not suffer fools gladly, Suzette just might end up in a world of trouble with Millie.
Life in the suburbs is exciting when it comes to watching things from Millie’s POV, especially as her unconventional methods of solving problems in her past are sure to come to light presently. I love that this series has continued, and I really hope there is more to reveal about Millie. Thank you Ms. McFadden for keeping me pleasingly entertained.
Many thanks to Freida McFadden, Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

I have already read the first two housemaid books and really enjoyed them so I was super excited to get my hands on the third book. This one was a bit different to the other two as it is set later on in Milly and Enzo’s life.
I found the first half a bit slow and didn’t feel like much happened but the last half has twists and turns that I was absolutely not expecting. I thought I had the book sussed in the first three chapters so was a bit disappointed but it got to about 53% and my prediction was so far away from real I was so happy!
The next big twist came at 75% of the way through the book and again did not see this coming. I enjoyed how different part 3 was from the first two books as I was not expecting this.
Overall I really enjoyed this one and if you enjoyed the other two you should definitely read this one as well.
(I ran into some issues downloading this one so had to contact Mandy Chahal who was honestly so lovely and helpful and got me sorted the same day even though it was a Saturday and she is in a different time zone to me)

This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it was so good! All her books hook you from the first page and this one did just that. I read this in less than 48 hours because I loved it so much. I don’t think I’ve ever finished a book so fast! This is the third book in the housemaid series and I would highly recommend reading the first two before this one. There’s so much that ties into the other books. This one has everything you want in a thriller: twists and turns, mysterious, fast paced and so much drama. I loved this one and you need to add it to your tbr. If you are fan of Freida McFadden you have to read this one.

Wow! I can't tell you how many feelings this book made me feel! I was intrigued, frustrated, mad, I cried, I cheered and sat on the edge of my seat. Was such a good book. Loved checking in some of my favorite book characters.

OH MY GOD OBSESSED THE TWISTS WERE TWISTING Freida is the QUEEN OF THRILLER and she didn’t disappoint! My fav of the series!

Millie and her husband have finally found their new home! And at 10% less the asking price at that! They are thrilled to move in, but when they meet their neighbors the welcome party is less than welcome. Unless you count Suzanne had core hitting on Millie’s husband that is. With the kids at a new school and after a big move, Millie isn’t completely shocked that Nico’s behavior has changed…she just cant figure out what is bothering him so much…
This book was exactly what I have come to expect from McFadden. Thoroughly enjoyable, but a little bit far fetched. I loved the first two books in this series, and this one is no different. You don’t want to stop reading and turning the pages because you need to find out what is going to happen and where the story is going. As always this book kept me on my toes. It was a quick and fun read, even at 400 pages I flew through it.

Amazing third book to this series! Freida does it once again! I will continue to read every single book she writes.
Millie and Enzo get into trouble again this time with their new neighbors.

Fast paced, full of twists, for sure kept me guessing & when i thought i had it.. boom.. another twist.

📚Review: The Housemaid Is Watching 👁️
Happy Pub Day to Freida and this gem of a book!! WOW! What can I say? This book was just so great!! It grabs you literally from the very first sentence. If “There’s blood everywhere.” doesn’t grab your attention, then I don’t know what will. 😳 But Freida has done it again folks. She knows how to grab your attention and keep it going the entire book. This book for me, was the perfect ending to this series. It came full circle and I loved every minute of it. I think I even loved it better than the second one. Once I started reading this one I could not put it down. I’m not going to say much about it though. Those who are familiar with the series know what the gist of it is anyway. But, I will say this, Millie and Enzo are back, but in an interesting twist this book jumps into the future a bit. Over a decade has passed between the second book and this one. Which I really loved. I was not expecting that. This time hop gave us new characters, who also gave us new problems. A couple of old characters are back again in this one as well. One was a total shocker for me. But all in all, I thought this was done so well. I truly enjoyed this one so much. Thank you for this @fmcfaddenauthor. This was definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars for me!! Can’t wait for everyone to get to read this now.
Thank you to Freida and @netgalley and @bookouture for this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Pub Date:: TODAY! June 11,2024.
Be sure to grab your copy today! You won’t regret it.
Have you read this one yet? What do you think of this series?

This was the perfect way to wrap up Millie’s story! It kept me on the edge of my seat, and in perfect Freida fashion, right when I think I’m catching onto what’s happening, she proves me wrong. I genuinely had no idea how this book was going to end, and I’m still in shock about it. The Housemaid is the perfect thriller trilogy.
