I love going Out West. The air. The view. The mountains. Everytime I read a Misty M. Beller book it brings me back there. I am one of her characters standing amidst the glorious landscape GOD created.

Grant and Faith meet on the trail. I would love to ride along with them in the wilderness. Sleeping on the hard ground, probably not. Faith is determined to return a necklace to the woman who saved their father so many years ago from a certain death. She takes risks that can put her in danger. Grant is searching for his brother. Will they find them? Or will they find something they were not expecting to?

This is the third entry into the Sisters of the Rockies Series. Ms. Beller continues the story of the Collins sisters with Rocky Mountain Journey. This can be read as a standalone but the story is fuller with having read the previous titles. The story moves at a good pace and the romance between Faith and Grant are sweet and believable. Readers looking for a sweet historical romance with strong female characters will not be disappointed. This series continues to be a keeper.

This was another delightful book by Misty Beller. Her books portray both the excitement and hardships of the western frontier. I have read the other books in the series and so I was familiar with the characters although each book features the adventures of a different brother in the Coulter family. I think it would be preferable to read the books in order. Having read several books by this author there are some variations in the stories but often similar plots and outcomes. All have been enjoyable.

I've enjoyed this series about the adventures of the Collins young women as they search, make friends, and fall in love. Faith is the youngest, and I was surprised at her impulsiveness and naiveté when she leaves the safety of her family and continues the pursuit on her own without much of a plan. Grant saves her life more than once as he sees through her disguise and protects her from danger. I usually find this trope compelling but I struggled to connect with Faith and Grant's emotions. There is suspense added to the plot when they discover that they are not the only ones close on the trail of Steps Right. Grant is also searching for the younger brother he was separated from, making their travels more complex. The resolution of Steps Right being reunited with White Horse and the Collins daughters expressing their gratitude for her was very heartwarming.

Rocky Mountain Journey is book 3 in Misty Beller's Sisters of the Rockies series. It's a sweet romance between Faith and Grant with adventure and family love. Very easy to read and made for an enjoyable afternoon.

I also listened to the audio and enjoyed listening to Pilar Witherspoon.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

This is book three in the Sisters of the Rockies series. If you haven’t read books one and two you need to stop and read them before you read this book. It’s an amazing read but so is the entire series!

In this book, we follow Faith. Well, Faith as Frank for part of it. That’s right. We’ve got a woman dressed as a man so that she can go where she wants to go. Because women couldn’t just travel freely around, it wasn’t safe.

To add to the story we have Grant. He joins the trapper team that Faith/Frank is travelling with. Only, he’d met Faith before and rather liked her. He can’t get her out of his mind. And now this man keeps making him think of Faith!

Will Grant figure out who Faith really is?

Add in some danger, a fair amount of suspense, and a love story. It’s a novel you’re going to love! It’s the third in the series and the conclusion. I couldn’t put it down. This is an author that I really love. Everything she writes is historically accurate and really makes you feel like you’re there.

I always look forward to a new book by Misty Beller because you are guaranteed a journey to the wonderful landscape of the Rocky Mountains with interesting people doing daring things, sweet romance, mystery, and a renewing of faith. This book did not disappoint. We go on an adventure with Faith Collins and a gentleman named Grant Allen, a faithful friend, White Horse, trappers, Indian villains, and various family members we have met before. Faith and Grant are each on their own journey of discovery and together they will finally find the missing pieces. The romance is slow and sweet and does not overpower the story. There is enough mystery and intrigue to keep you turning the pages. I love how faith is always woven throughout the story.
I am sad to see this series end, but I am sure that Ms. Beller has further adventures for us and I eagerly await this next adventure.

She'll take the search into her own hands...

I have really gotten into the Sisters Of The Rockies series as it has progressed across the three books. I've enjoyed the differences between each sister's story and the familiar similarities that come with a good Misty M. Beller book. And Rocky Mountain Journey IS a good book.

Rocky Mountain Journey has everything that I've come to like about Misty M. Beller's fiction. From a simple cast of characters to a dramatic landscape setting to a good dash of mystery and intrigue to balance out the romance.

And speaking of mystery, the search for Steps Right has intrigued me from the start. I've been greatly anticipating finally getting those answers and finding out more about her story in general. In this final Sisters Of The Rockies novel I did get those answers, well, most of them anyway, and I felt satisfied with the way that search turned out.

The one and only downside to Rocky Mountain Journey is that now that the Sisters Of The Rockies series has concluded, I have to say goodbye to the characters. The upside is that it leaves me looking forward to more from Misty M. Beller...

When I see the word rocky mountain, I’m like, I’m all in to read it. This book is the final of a 3-part series called Sisters of the Rockies. The story is set on the youngest sister, Faith, who is a sensitive and courageous woman, aka Frank. Faith sets out on a journey by herself undercover as a boy to complete her father’s dying wish to find the woman who saved his life. Whew, that’s a mouthful. : )
I like how her journey ends up meeting Grant, who is also looking for someone. They find much in common and if you like happy endings you will like this. I prefer less mushy details in romance, but in the end, it’s great that Grant finds Jesus as his personal saviour.

A couple quotes from the book that stood out to me. “Place him in Gods’ hands. Creator Father will work all for good if you ask Him to.”
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.” I received this e-book for free from Celebrate Lit Tour and the opinions I express are honest and my own

Faith, the youngest of the four Collin sisters, still feels the heavy burden of the promise made at her father's death bed. Steps Right saved her father many years ago and gave him a family heirloom that he asked his girls to give back to her. But it has been a journey and while two of her sisters have settled down with family, their ranch also takes up a lot of time. So, Faith decides to set out on her own without their knowledge or permission. What she is looking for is to fulfill her promise to her father, what she finds is so much more.

Grant Allen is also on a journey, to find his long-lost brother. However, on his way he comes across a woman who is pretending to be a man to ride along with a bunch of trappers, on what he at first thinks is a foolish and dangerous errand. Will he put his feelings aside and help her?

This was an adventurous journey through the Rockies with companionship, friendship, and the spirit of never giving up and even finding one's faith. There is danger and love, learning to let go and trusting the one who created you. I look forward to the next sister's journey of the heart.

Faith’s story is one of adventure, mystery, hidden identities, friendship, faith, trust, and love. While this book has less of the sisters in it, I still really enjoyed it. Faith’s journey to find Steps Right has here stepping out alone on a journey she will never forget. She never dreamed she would meet the love of her life while dress like a boy covered in dirt. Grant, who is searching for his long lost brother, never dreamed that the scrawny boy with the dirty face could be the same beautiful woman he rescued from almost falling over a waterfall. If you haven’t read the other two books in the series, I highly recommend it.

This was a fun, Christian adventure read! Taking place in America's western frontier, this story follows Faith on her journey to fulfill her father's dying wish. I enjoyed the writing of the story and the western aspects, but the plot fell a little flat for me. I think because it was sold as more of a romance, but the romance aspect was honestly very minimal. I would have loved to see more of that.

4.5 stars

I’ve been waiting for Faith’s story since we first met the Collins sisters, because I knew there were so many layers to her. And I was right. Her will is strong but her heart is still vulnerable, and I thought Misty M. Beller did a wonderful job of showing this contrast and making Faith a very relatable character in the process. The story especially spoke to me in the tender reminders that our own abilities and the illusion of control can only take us so far, that ‘letting go and letting God’ is a sign of strength, not weakness. The line “Not you but Me” and the scene it’s part of will linger with me for a while, almost like a warm embrace from God in a season where I wish I could speed up a timetable or fix something on my own – a gentle reassurance that it’s not up to me but to the One who holds the world in His hands.

Then there’s Grant who is also a relatable dichotomy of strong and vulnerable. While Faith’s main takeaway is to learn to trust God personally, Grant needs to learn that he is wholly loved and wholly valued by that same personal God, just for being who he is – not for anything he can do. And just like Faith is searching for Steps Right (the ongoing story arc from book one to three), Grant too is searching for someone – his younger brother from whom he was separated as a child. Right from their ‘meet-cute’ (which is delightfully unique and sets the tone for their journey throughout this book), I loved Grant and Faith together and my love for them only got stronger as the story progressed. Even though their personal and faith struggles are so similar, their differences nonetheless complement one another quite well and their increasingly romantic feelings (and the subsequent stolen kisses) are sweet and swoony! Which, as we all know, is a winning combination for me.

Bottom Line: Rocky Mountain Journey by Misty M. Beller is full of adventure, discoveries, faith, hope, and love, all wrapped up in an entertaining story that touches your heart too. Faith and Grant are layered characters who come alive under Beller’s talented pen, and I so enjoyed my time with them. I also loved seeing characters from Calm in the Mountain Storm, reuniting with characters I’ve loved during this entire Sisters of the Rockies series, and tying up several character arcs we’ve followed across all three books too. I am hopeful that maybe (please, please, please) we’ll get a novella or some sort of followup to Rosemary & White Horse’s relationship, but even if we never do the author gives us enough hints to let us fill in the blanks on our own. But I love White Horse so much – their honorary brother – and I want all the details of his happily-ever-after too! Misty M. Beller is an auto-read for me, every single time, and Rocky Mountain Journey proves why. Looking forward to anything/everything she writes next!

This was a quick and interesting read! At first I wasn’t sure what I was getting into, but as the action picked up, I couldn’t put it down! Between the search for a missing mother, a missing brother, and all of the trapping/hunting/vengence mixed in - there was always something keeping me on the edge of my seat.

Thank you to @bethanyhousefiction and @austenprose for my #gifted copy!

title: Rocky Mountain Journey (Sisters of the Rockies #3)
genre: western, romance, adventure
pages: 272
rating: ★★★☆☆

Now this was sold to me as a “Western Romance,” and while it does take place in the early West and does have some romance, I would call it more of Western Christian Adventure Fiction. Which was still fun! I wish we’d spent more time in the novel with the FMC hiding her identity, because that could add some fun shenanigans (and maybe given some Mulan vibes), but Faith and Grant interacting was fun both ways. (I especially enjoyed Grant the Grump. 😂)

My only true complaint is that the devout aspects didn't really work for me. They felt sort of like they were trying to fill in gaps in the adventure and the romance story and felt a little out of place. Rather than writing more to the story, the author had Him save everything or Him guide them to safety and it was just a little off and took me out of the story.

I have loved reading this series by Misty M. Beller. I have loved the overarching story but then how unique each book is to each sister and their personality. I liked how this story concluded and how everyone became family. I liked seeing Grant and Faith fall in love as they traveled on their journey to find Steps Right. I also like seeing both of them grow in their faith journey as they learned to lean more on God and to realize that He is there and is aware of what they need. I would highly recommend this series.

What an interesting twist: a woman disguised as a man, in a men's world. Some of the interactions between Faith and Grant (who realizes her disguise, and his attraction to her) is somewhat amusing at times.

If you enjoy historical fiction, set in the Rockies, with the intrigue of disguise, you will want to grab your copy.

In 1839, Faith Collins journeys through the Rocky Mountains in search of Steps Right, a Piegan Blackfoot woman who once saved her father’s life in order to fulfill her father’s dying wish. She disguises herself as a man in order to travel with a group of trappers. Grant Allen, a man working with the band of trappers as he looks for his long-lost brother, quickly realizes that Faith is a woman. Together they help each other fulfill their quests. Will they both find who they are looking for?

My thoughts on this novel:

• I always love books that involve a journey. I loved Faith and Grants journey into the Rocky Mountains in search of missing loved ones.

• This book also had adventure that includes a kidnapping and rescue.

• This novel included a good side plot on how Grant had lost his faith and how he works to get his faith back throughout the novel.

• The romance between Grant and Faith was sweet and clean.

• I love the cover of this book; it looks so beautiful and makes me want to visit the Rocky Mountains as soon as possible. The story had great description of the area as well.

• I will admit that I was hoping for more story on trapping in the wild, but Faith and Grant leave the trappers early in the novel.

• I liked that Grant figured out early on that Faith was a woman disguised as a man. I always find it strange when a love story has the female disguised for way too long and it makes it hard for me to see them together as a couple.

• This is the third novel in the Sisters of the Rockies series. It worked fine as a stand alone novel, but I think I would have gotten more out of it if I would have had the back story of the first two novels. In particular, I would have understood the background characters of Faith’s family much better. I definitely need to go back to read them.

• An excerpt was included at the end for a new novel, A Warrior’s Heart, which is the start of a new series. It pulled me in and looks like a great new series.

Overall, Rocky Mountain Journey was a good historical romance and journey through adventure, love, and faith.

Rocky Mountain Journey is the third book in the Sisters of the Rockies series by Misty M. Beller. This is a heartwarming series that focuses on the Collins sisters after moving to the Rocky Mountain area. The stories build on the previous books, so it is best to read them in order.

In this story we follow Faith as she search for the Indian lady that saved her father’s life many years ago. I enjoyed the happening during her journey with the trappers and the suspense with finding the lady. We also meet Grant, who also joins the trappers in search of someone close to him. I enjoyed how Grant looks out for Faith and how their friendship builds through out the story. The dedication both have to find the people they are searching for is enjoyable and the faith they have is very evident.

I have read several of Misty Beller's books, but not the first two books in this series, Sisters of the Rockies. Rocky Mountain Journey worked wonderfully as a stand-alone read. The story will resonate with those who have at some point in their life felt forgotten by God, or who have wondered if He really cares. Those who have never experienced those doubts will still appreciate the soul searching that accompanies them and the joy of discovering God's presence and a life abiding in Him.

This story takes place in 1839 as Faith decides she can wait no longer to do the task her father asked of her on his deathbed, to locate the native woman who once saved his life and to return a family heirloom to her. Faith had no idea of the perils that she would encounter as she set out upon this journey without telling her sisters of her true intentions. The author does a great job with aiding her readers to feel present in the setting, a setting as dangerous as it is beautiful.

I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Rocky Mountain Journey from Bethany House via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

As with Rocky Mountain Promise (book 2 in the Sisters of the Rockies series I read last year) “Rocky Mountain Journey” is another wonderful read with fascinating ties to Native American beliefs and traditions.

It took me a bit to like Faith, but eventually I warmed up to her. I connected with Grant immediately and rooted for him on his search for his brother. Grant has characteristics I love in a hero, especially his protectiveness and heart.

There are twists and turns, plenty of action, adventure, and romance, but my favorite elements are the threads of faith throughout the story. A keeper for lovers of historical romance and Christian fiction.
