Oh, I absolutely loved this one!
Billie's resilience as the sole survivor of a serial killer is both heartbreaking and captivating. As a reader, you can't help but want to hold her and keep her safe.

The meet-cute with Brett adds a sizzling dynamic to the story, and I'm a sucker for the protector trope, which is beautifully explored here. The romance suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and the author did a fantastic job building the storyline for both characters. Brett, the big cinnamon roll, had me completely invested in his journey.

The narrators, Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton did a great job portraying both characters. It’s a dual POVs. I really enjoyed getting both of their POVs. The variety of tones and inflections used by the narrators were spot on.

My Anti-Hero was an adult, sports romance. Billie and Brett’s story was an interesting insta-love journey. The suspense, drama and twists had me devouring this book. I did think it dragged on more than necessary, but overall I was pleased with the storyline.

Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton did a really nice job narrating.

I don't even know where to start...My Anti-Hero left me absolutely speechless; in the BEST way possible. Billie and Brett are end game for me. This book is going to live rent free in my head for eternity. The complexity of her trauma paired with his need to be with her was just phenomenal. It took no time for me to fall in love with them and I fell HARD. Tijan's writing has a way of making me live the story right along with the characters and I felt like I was feeling their pain and love right along with them. I'm still reeling from the conclusion but I'm a way that makes me want to immediately reread. 15/10 stars for me!!!

Just swoonworthy.
A story I couldn't put down.

A big, burly footballplayer and a graphic designer.
And it's not just romance, there is also enough thrill in it.
A fantastic story through and through.

Andi and Teddy complete the book with their great narration.

It's been a minute since I listened to or read a 𝚃𝚒𝚓𝚊𝚗 novel. I'm so glad I listened to this one! It was a refreshing read and like coming home after months away!

I adored Billie. She went through so much and so many times I wanted ro hug her! I also loved the way Brett was chiseled. A football player and all around hottie. He also had some baggage to bring. But when these two meet, it's instant chemistry. Off to the races for these two to finally have a shot of true happiness in their life!

𝐴𝑛𝑑𝑖 𝐴𝑟𝑛𝑑𝑡, one of my top female narrators, brought her talent and made Billie come to life. Her voice, as always, captured me & hooked me to the story. 𝑇𝑒𝑑𝑑𝑦 𝐻𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑡𝑜𝑛...dear lord. That man can do no wrong when he voices characters! He is also a top male narrator for me and did a magnificent job at filling Brett's character full of life and heart!

This is a captivating read that you don't want to miss. It's filled with beautifully chiseled plot, breathtakingly beautiful characters, and yummy spice! From opposites attract to grumpy to sunshine & football, this story has it all, even some suspenseful moments. Don't miss it!

This was the first book I have read/listened to by Tijan, I am blown away.
There are so many twists and turns and layers to this story I don't know where to start. I will first say that the narrators , Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton, were amazing telling this story.

When Billie was a child playing over at a friends house she became the sole survivor of a serial killer. Years later, even though the killer has been caught, she went into hiding from the press and the public she decides to do a interview with a news station where she runs into Brett a big burly football player who changes her whole world.

This meeting starts their roller coaster of a story. To say they go to hell and back is putting it mildly but they do it together. They both have their demons and help each other through them. I 100% recommend this book if you like sports romance, thriller, mystery, found family type of stories.

I was given an ALC to listen to and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I’m not usually one for the instalove trope but I liked this. I didn’t love that there wasn’t a conversation around consent and boundaries, I think the idea was just that they were that connected but some things just NEED to be discussed. I’ll basically listen to anything narrated by Teddy Hamilton.

Check your trigger warnings friends.

Thank you net galley for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

This story follows Billie, childhood survivor of a serial killer, and Brett, professional football player. Right out of the gate, you know that Billie has residual trauma from her experience from 20 years ago, as I'm sure anyone would. With the glamorization of true crime podcasts, tv shows, etc. she finds herself thrust into the limelight on the anniversary of the serial killer's capture. Billie and Brett meet at a morning show taping and its lust at first sight. at 30% of the way through the book (about 4 hours into the audiobook) I just could not connect with either of these characters. Everyone is extremely unlikable in my opinion. Billie is insecure and lives in her own little bubble. Brett is overbearing, over protective and while I usually like the protective trope, for some reason, this just didn't do it for me. Billie's 'sister' was controlling, self-centered, and constantly playing mind games, and her 'parents' were enablers. I found after 4 hours of listening, nothing really happened in this book, so for me, this book is a pass. #MyAntiHero #NetGalley

Brett and Billie's story is passionate, emotional, and captivating! Billie is a fantastic character, smart, strong, and brave. Her past is heart-wrenching. Brett is handsome, enigmatic, supportive, and protective. His past is dark. They are both amazing characters, and they are perfect together. Their romance is passionate, and engaging. The story is original, unique, and breathtakingly enthralling. I liked the mystery, the intrigue, and the unpredictable twists and turns. The supporting characters are great. This is an excellent romantic suspense, and I enjoyed it. Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton did an outstanding job bringing these characters and this story to life.

Well, I was absolutely gripped by this story. I couldn’t put it down!

This isn’t just a sports romance, although Brett Broudou does play football, this is a romantic suspense with a side of serial k!ller. And I was here for every freakin’ minute of it.

This book has the meet-cute, the chemistry (phew does it have the chemistry), plot for days, plenty of dodgy characters who you’ll think are the baddie, and a surprise ending you won’t see coming.

I love stories that keep you guessing. I was convinced the bad guy was one of the other characters, but nope, I had it wrong. I secretly love it when the author pulls one over on me.

Andi and Teddy were fantastic as Billie and Brett. They gave us all the layers of their characters. The sheltered, secretive Billie and the alpha, protective Brett. It was a fantastic audio experience.

If you are looking for a book that will hook you, has characters who are well-developed, has some explosive spice, and will keep you guessing, pick THE ANTI-HERO!

It has taken me a week or so to put my thoughts into words on this one. This story was just wow! Brett and Billie's story had everything. It has it all! Romance, suspense, twisty plots, murder! It kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't want to leave my car as I listened.

Brett had me swooning from the very beginning. Billie and Brett just clicked on so many levels. They both had tragic stories and have lived through hell and were seeing the sunshine with each other in their lives. When either of them threatened to go to a dark place, the other pulled them back into the light.

This story was amazing. I need to do a re-read or re-listen because there was so much going on that I missed some details that I need to know! There are so many ways this story could still go on.

The narrators did an amazing job telling this story and keeping me glued to my seat. Great story!

4 ⭐️ This really surprised me! This is my first Tijan book and I now need to go back and read her other books! I loved the writing style it kept my interest the whole time. The way it starts out they do fall for each other very quickly but I actually like how she did that. It wasn’t cringy at all. I loved all of billies quirks! The chickens were one of my favorites 😂 she just made me laugh so much with how blunt she was. Did not care what people thought of her. The serial killer aspect was much more involved than I thought it would be and it had me hooked! I love a good romantic suspense and I was pleasantly surprised with this one! Some of the twists I did not see coming at all! I was a bit confused in the end with the whole Travis thing but from beginning to end I loved this book! Teddy Hamilton and Andy Ardnt will never do any wrong in mind! They are perfect and so great at adding emotion to characters. Two of my favorites! Thank you Valentine PR and netgalley for the ALC!

My Anti-Hero is a bit instalove, and a bit romantic suspense. Billie is the sole survivor of a serial killer's attack, who lives her life more or less as a recluse. While appearing on a news program to talk about the incident, Billie crosses paths with football star Brett, whose team recently won the Super Bowl. Quite literally crosses paths when she trips and falls right in front of him!

There's an immediate attraction between Billie and Brett, and their relationship runs deep. They both have traumatic pasts, and there's work they both have to put in to make the relationship work. There are some very dark themes in this book, and some *really* messed-up situations with Billie's family. Brett comes across as an overbearing alphahole at times, but I liked how he became her constant.

Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite narrators, and I loved listening to him and Andi Arndt together in this sexy romance! Duet narration is my new favorite thing, and I loved how they worked together to bring Brett and Billie to life.

I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.

My Anti-Hero was the first Tijan book I listened to and wowzer Teddy Hamilton and Andy Arndt brought on the heat!!!!

I enjoyed the audiobook a lot and breezed through the book within a couple days, the last day was actually a marathon listening. Also, have to admit it was at times almost too hot to listen to. 😆

About the story:

I found Brett Broudou's story interesting, especially regarding his backstory. I'm a big FCH fan, also Mason and Sam were the first Tijan couple that made a home in my heart. And I enjoyed the cameos and the links to FC.

So, Brett and Billie went insta lust on each other, which is typical for Tijan. It was a bit OTT - which is also very Tijan. I'm just getting a bit tired of it. Overall, the book was just an ok read for me. Probably because I wasn't prepared for it being a romantic suspense novel. With a heavy dose of mystery, and a WTF ending! Which unfortunately didn't sync with me. The ending really threw me. Couldn't wrap my mind around it.

But in the end, I'm never not reading a Tijan book. Her books are extremely entertaining, and sooner or later there will be another favorite, just wait and see.

Let me start by saying that the narration in this audiobook is stellar and it's mostly the reason why I rated this book this high. Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton can carry any book.
It might be the fact that I didn't read the books where the hero first shows up, but I just couldn't connect to this story, I think the problem is this book doesn't really know what it is. It has an NFL player but it's not a sports romance, it has a serial killer but it's not a dark romance. It has quirky characters and animals but it's not a rom com.
I am also not a fan of instalove or instalust and, especially in this case, where the heroine is a basically a recluse, having had survived what she did, it felt a little forced.
The suspense part was also a little too over the top for me too. I love a good twist but this one didn't really impress me.
I really wanted to like this one, but it just didn't work as well for me. I know I'm in the minority from what I see from other reviews, but this was more of a miss than a hit.
It won't deter me from reading more of this author as I know she can pen a great story.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

*Audio Review*

My Anti-Hero is the first book I've read by Tijan and it did not disappoint! I was hooked from the beginning and spent the next 24 hours ignoring responsibilities to finish the book. Billie (fmc) had an interesting/horrific back story that laid the groundwork for an romantic and suspenseful story. Brett Broudou (mmc) is a professional football player who was in the right place at the right time to have the perfect meet cute with Billie. Their feelings developed quickly and I was all in on the insta-love that turned into some super spicy moments! The story kept me engaged and second guessing everything until the very last sentence. I loved it! The writing was great and I can't wait to read more from Tijan!

The audiobook was narrated by the fabulous Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton. Andi was the perfect amount of awkward, vulnerable, emotional and a badass. Teddy was dominant, cocky and charming. Andi and Teddy always have great chemistry together and this was no different. Their performance kept me engaged just as much as the story did. Love them!

I received a free copy of this book at my request, and I voluntarily provided this review.

Teddy Hamilton and Andi Arndt narrating?! Say less! These two are fantastic and are both favourites of mine. They did a great job bringing Billy and Brett to life, and kept me engaged throughout the book.

Whoa! I did not see that final epilogue coming.

I thought the story was well done, and I enjoyed the suspense-driven sub-plot. The overall ending was satisfying but then the last line of the final epilogue opened up SO many questions. I’ve never come across that before. I think it was a clever writing move, but I also left feeling like the conclusion was unresolved.

The relationship between Brett and Billy was good. They had an instant chemistry and their meet-cute was adorable. Tijan does spice right and My Anti-Hero did not disappoint. If you like the most open of doors in your romance, then you’ll love when the romance hits for the two MCs.

I did feel like there were some gaps in the plot along the way, but overall this was a solid romance read.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tijan and Dreamscape Media. These are my honest thoughts.

One week changed the course of Billie’s life as not only did she survive a devastating event but a few days later events unfolded that left her alone in the world. She was taken in by two wonderful people who were there for her as she tried to recover, and their support was unwavering. She does not allow many people close but from a chance meeting with Brett she knows he is different.

Brett has a difficult past of his own but playing football professionally was his lifeline. He meets Billie when they are both scheduled to be interviewed on the same show and from the moment, he rescued her he knew that he would never let her go.

Between Billie’s past and Brett’s family drama their relationship had its challenges but despite everything they had to face, both from the past and in the present, the one aspect that was never questioned is that they belong together. The portrayal by the narrators had you experiencing what the characters were feeling whether it was the intense chemistry between them, the emotions or the suspense.
