Thrilling in all the right ways.

This sports romance is not just a love story, but a thriller that keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire ride, a healer of past and current traumas, and one hell of a journey for both of our MCs.

Tijan does an excellent job at telling a story so real that you can’t help but connect to these characters. There are so many facets and details she weaves into each character’s tale that you’ll find yourself in them too. And if that’s the not the goal of storytelling, I don’t know what is.

If you like sports romance, touch her and die, small town, murder mysteries and farm animals-- this is right up your alley!

The MFC and MMC were saviors to each others past-- and those are such great stories. There's no third act break up!

OMG OMG OMG!!!! This book....I have no words. So many twists and turns. The way it ended!!! Geez this was a great suspenseful romance novel. I was hooked from the beginning. This is my first book from Tijan and I am now a fan. The audiobook was awesome. Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton are great narrators and did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. Avoid reading spoilers, otherwise it will take away the suspense and shock from the story. You will enjoy it more if you go into it blindly.

Highly recommend if you like the following:
- Sports
- Tragic Past
- Suspense
- Intense Chemistry
- Protector
- Redemption
- Angst
- Lust at First Sight
- Stalker
- Alpha Hero

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for sending this book for review consideration.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t quite sure I was going to like this one once I started it. The insta-lust was a bit too much to me and I was left wondering, “what else could this story be about” when there were many hours left to the audio after they got together. I ended up really enjoying it. The suspense and mystery part of the story really captivated me.

I have seen a lot of mixed opinions about Billie but I honestly loved her character. She was the only survivor of the Midwest Butcher and immediately after, her mother and brother were killed. She has been through way more than anyone should at such a young age. She was a little bit quirky and has a major love for football. When she meets Brett, it’s like he is the missing piece that she didn’t even know she was looking for. He loved the way that she was and he wanted nothing more than to protect her. They were adorable together.

Tijan did such a spectacular job engineering this story that weaves the compelling story of the mystery behind the Midwest Butcher along with the charming love story between Billie and Brett ( and her chickens). And that ending! OH MY THAT ENDING! It hit hard and fast and then it was just over! I couldn’t believe everything that was revealed.

Love this audio, great performance by both narrators. I had a great time hearing this audiobook. It was a great story. It was also my first book by Tijan. I love discovering new author and it will definitely not be the last book I would read from this author.
Thank you for sending me this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

If you have read a Tijan book before you know she always packs an emotional punch and this was no different. Billie suffers from a very tragic past where she managed to survive a serial unaliver. But could he be back?! This was like the movies where you are yelling "don't go in the house" etc at the screen.

She meets Brett and there is an instant attraction. A magnet pull. They both have very tragic histories and understand each other. I do however wish there was a bit more relationship building in the beginning but I feel like that's expected with instalust.

Overall this is a wild rollercoaster that has me on the edge of my seat. Teddy+ Andi did a phenomenal job with the audio and made everything come to life beautifully.

Thank you to Tijan @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for this ALC.

In a twist of fate, Brett Broudou, the star of the King's football team, found himself inexplicably drawn to Billie, a woman haunted by a tragic childhood event. Despite their seemingly disparate lives, they discovered an unbreakable bond that neither of them could deny.

✨Thoughts✨
Billie was a force of nature, unafraid to speak her mind and do the unexpected. Brett had no chance; he found himself falling for her in ways he never thought possible. This unconventional love story unfolded against a backdrop of gripping themes that weighed heavily on the story.

The audiobook was a blend of romance and suspense, a roller coaster ride that had me on the edge of my seat. As the plot unfolded, I eagerly awaited the revelation of the killer's identity and their twisted motives. Yet, amidst the gripping suspense, I was fascinated by the love blossoming between Billie and Brett as they both battled their own demons.

The author skillfully infused the narrative with an air of mystery that kept me engaged until the very end. It felt like piecing together a complex puzzle, with romance acting as the missing piece that added warmth and heart to the overall tapestry of the story.

If you're a fan of romantic suspense, this book is an absolute must-read or listen. And the cherry on top is the dual narration by Teddy Hamilton and Andi Arndt, which sealed the deal for me. Their performances brought the characters to life in a way that enhanced the overall narrative.

Thank you, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley, for this audiobook. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

This was my first Tijan book and I had high expectations from what I have heard about her books. I jumped at the chance to request an alc from Net Galley and I'm so sad I struggled with the book.

Chapter 1 was intriguing and they had a lovely meet-cute. There is a lot of information given as they both have some traumatic experiences in their past like surviving a serial killer for Billie. It was an insta love/lust relationship and I struggled to really feel like it was genuine and going to last the distance. It was hard to feel connected to the story and characters and there were some actions/behaviors by Billie's foster family I questioned. There were some good moments in the story that made me smile, I just wanted more depth to their characters and of them truly building something special.

Narrated by Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton - they are the reason I kept going with this listen!

There is so much more to this book than just a simple sports romance. Brett is a mysterious grumpy unattached loner football star know for his hard hits and getting plays made on the field but no one really knows him off the field.

Billie is a bit of a mess really. She is also a loner but for a completely different reason. Having been the sole survivor of a serial killer she keeps her identify close to her chest even though there is so much interest in her to this day.

So what happens when these two meet on set of a news station where they’re being interviewed separately? Honestly kind of a mess. There definitely is some insta-love in this book but these two main characters are constantly messing it up and their social skills could definitely use some work.

But guys… there is actual football played in this book. I know… I was shocked too. Usually sports romance the sports is all taking place off the page while one is away but we saw some actual plays happen!

This was a lot darker than I expected but I also ended up liking it more than I thought. It’s a long one but worth it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5/5

I enjoyed this book.
Billie has went through a horrible experience. To add to it, people will not leave her alone about it.
Brett is a football star who has family troubles.
Billie and Brett are good for each other and it was fun watching their relationship grow.
I am glad things worked out and the characters got the happiest they deserved.

SO. Friggin. Good. Ugh. A good ugh. An emotionally exhausted and equally swoon-worthy UGH.

Billie Harm was the only survivor of the Midwest Butcher when she was a kid. She’s a recluse and a nervous wreck. Brett Broudou is the King’s newest football star and a media favorite. A chance meeting at an interview puts Billie on Brett’s radar and the two form a deeply moving relationship. Billie feels so comfortable around Brett and all he sees is “his woman.” And good lawd, did I swoon over that possessive man.

I have to say I feel like this is one of Tijan’s spiciest romances to date. But it was more than a romance. It was a mystery and thriller. It was lustful and insanely sexy. I’ve always loved how Tijan can weave together smexy scenes so flawlessly but add in the heavy descriptions and intense dialogue and these scenes are next level now.

The plot was so interesting! Twists and turns and lies and deceit. It was found family and mental health and anxiety. All handled with extreme care.

I just have to say this was one thiccc piece of literature and I thoroughly enjoyed Andi and Teddy’s narrations. They brought Billie and Brett to life and I LIVED for their heated words and passion.

My Anti-Hero is a suspenseful sports romance between a couple that fall quick and hard for each other!

I want to start by saying the story line was there. I enjoyed the suspense and sports portions of Billie & Brett's story. The insta-love portion was just too insta in my opinion. I felt like I needed to know them better or that I missed some chapters in the beginning. It held me back from enjoying the book a bit but I did get hooked enough to want to know what happens in the end.

Thank you to the author and Dreamscape Media for the audio! You can never go wrong with Andi Arndt & Teddy Hamilton!

The narration was superb. I love Teddy Hamilton.

With that said this is a sports romance but with a twist. Not fluffy. Billie goes through a traumatic event. Difficult themes are discussed.

Love the suspense side of this! Definitely not a sweet or cute romance. Check triggers.

I always love being back in any way in the Fallen Crest universe. Fans of these books have long awaited a book about Brett Broudou, and My Anti-Hero doesn't disappoint. My Anti-Hero is the love story between Brett Broudou, a football star, and Billie Harm, the only survivor of a famous serial killer. Billie and Brett have a meet-cute when they are both appearing on a talk show the same day. Both have an immediate and intense reaction and attraction to each other, but also have a bit of a shaky start. I loved how things start off between them with the push and pull and misunderstandings.

Billie and Brett both have damage from their childhoods and things that they have been through. They are both closed off and slow to trust and also perfectly suited for each other. This book was a little different from previous ones from this author. There is a murder mystery weaved through the story that has lots of twists and turns. I had guessed the final twist very early on, but one of the major ones I hadn't seen coming, and loved being surprised by that. I also really enjoyed all the side characters in this one and getting to know Billie's world and being back with some of our favorites from previous books from this author.

I simultaneously both read this on ebook and listened on audio. The narrators for this one were perfectly fit and did an excellent job making the characters come alive. I can definitely see myself rereading this or listening again at some point.

Rated 4.5 Stars

I loved My Anti-Hero. It was a wild rollercoaster ride. It had me intrigued from the get, immediately sucked me in and kept my attention throughout. It was jammed packed with so many things - action, suspense, steam, dark moments, lighthearted moments, cute and sweet moments and so much more. There were twists and turns some that I saw coming but even seeing it coming it still had that shock value to it. I loved the way the author interspersed the suspense with the romance and the sports aspects. I loved the main characters and going on this journey with them. I especially loved watching them fall for each while navigating all that entailed. I have to give kudos to the narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Andi Arndt. They did a great job of bringing this book and characters to life. Both are masters of their craft. They wield their voices like others wield weapons but not for mass destruction, to engage readers emotions and boy did they have my emotions engaged. I loved listening to them. I definitely recommend this book.

This romantic suspense was a breathtaking ride with twists and turns, fun banter, and lots of sizzling passion! I was riveted from the very first word and loved the expert way that Tijan had my heart racing as I laughed, cried, and fell madly for her unforgettable characters. Football star, Brett Broudou, and Billie Harm, who survived a horrific event when she was twelve, meet on the set of a tv show. They are instantly attracted to each other, but after a misunderstanding, go their separate ways, only to gravitate back to each other. Billie has wanted to be invisible ever since surviving the infamous Midwest Butcher, but Brett made her want to live again. They both have such darkness in their pasts, but together, they bring light into each other's world. They are so perfect for each other, and their chemistry is explosive! But when both their pasts threaten both their lives, along with those they love, will they be able to protect each other, and finally put their darkness behind them, before they are both lost to each other for good? This story had so many feels! It was exciting, funny, heartstopping and heart-wrenching, along with passionate, and very hot and sexy. Brett and Billie were both famous, but for completely different reasons, that garnered unwanted, and sometimes dangerous attention. That's why I loved Billie's awkward quirkiness, along with her strength and resilience so much. She also helped the loner, grumpy, protective, Brett, break down his walls and let love in. They are so perfect for each other and their fiery chemistry leaps right off the page. I loved the epilogues that was so perfect and made me happy, and left me stunned!
The narration by Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton was fabulous! They are so perfect as Billie and Brett, as they not only build the tension of the story, but the fiery attraction between Billie and Brett as well. Their banter was brilliant, and they conveyed the depth and complexity of all their emotions beautifully. I always love their work and was completely lost in their moving performance!

“If I’d missed out on a chance with you, that would’ve been a milestone in regret.”

Wow! What an addictive and mesmerizing story. I couldn’t turn the pages of My Anti-Hero fast enough. Brett and Billie were such complex and layered characters and their storyline was so compelling that I did not want it to end. It was full of heart-wrenching emotions and tragic, heartbreaking events as well as inspiring moments that had me all in my FEELS!!

“I’m more me with you than I am with anyone else.”

Billie was survivor. Despite the tragedy of her past, she was brave, strong, and full of sassy, spirited courage that was absolutely beautiful. Her past didn’t define her, but it made her guarded which was completely understandable. She was awkward, fun and loving and I love how Brett seemed to innately understand her and what she needed. He offered a lightness that she had never experienced and made her feel truly safe for the first time in her life. He helped her blossom and feel seen.

“You were my forever the second I saw you at the news show that morning.”

Brett had his own demons, but from the moment he laid eyes on Billie, his heart recognized that she was his person. I loved how protective and possessive he was of her while still letting her be her own person and deal with things the way she wanted. His past allowed him to be exactly what she needed while she was also the only one who could truly understand the darkness that threatened to pull him under at times. She gave him a sense of calm that allowed him to open up to others.

Teddy Hamilton and Andi Arndt narrated the audio and this powerhouse duo was phenomenal. They captured all of drama and emotions perfectly and I was completely immersed in their performances. They brought the book to life in a way that made me feel as if I was living the story.

“I know that as long as you’re standing next to me, I’ll only feel the sunshine. No matter how dark it might get.”

The chemistry between these two was electric and I loved watching them together. They were truly soulmates and brought out the best in each other and calmed each other’s spirits. My Anti-Hero was suspenseful, gritty, steamy and full of tragedy, betrayal, and heartbreaking emotions. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I think it might be my favorite read of the year so far.

Story: I enjoyed the basics of this story-a sports romance with an underlying thriller plot line involving a serial killer. The couple had insta-chemistry which is fun. They complimented each other well, though the MMC did infantilize the fmc a little bit with his over protectiveness. That being said, it did feel a little drawn out. The side story of the mmc’s sister and her kids felt…out of place? At least the part near the end where they go to California to “confront her”. Like it had been shoved in when it didn’t contribute much to the storyline. I feel it could have been left out or at least minimized and not changed the story much.

Narration: The narrators were wonderful. Pleasant to listen to, consistent voices, appropriate tones. The only issue I had with the audio was that there seemed to be a too long pause between the ending of one chapter and beginning of the next. I kept think my audio had paused or turned off.

I enjoyed the narrators for this book, I think they did a good job. I found this book to be quite long for the style of book it is. If I was reading this book verse listening I am not sure I would have made it to the end.

I have a read a few books by this author and if you enjoy her writing you will definitely like this book.

All in all I think it was a decent book and did have some good twists, was just a little bit dragged out.

This story is an enthralling journey into the complexities of love and danger. Tijan's storytelling prowess shines through, weaving a tale that kept me eagerly turning the pages. The characters, especially Billie and Brett, felt incredibly real, with their struggles and strengths drawing me in. While some plot elements were predictable, the overall experience was satisfying and captivating. The audiobook version, narrated by Andi Arndt and Teddy Hamilton, added an extra layer of immersion, bringing the characters to life with their exceptional performances. I highly recommend this book to fellow romance and suspense fans; offering a thrilling ride filled with emotion and intrigue.
