A well-organized guide that was helpful even though ultimately I will not be able to use NetGalley's reading journals.

I was never able to download this in a way that was useful to me. I had intended to use it on my phone. It seems as if this is meant for computer use instead.

I really like it! It helps me to understand the reading journal better and how to use it more efficiently!

The fact that it helps you Import your journal to a recommended note-taking app, and it can be an up of your choice being able to Upload book covers and stickers, Duplicate review pages and change between writing and viewing mode is life changing. This is a digital form of journaling and there is no need to watch so many videos to be able to journal.
It is also different from the physical because, in the physical journal, you have to come up with ideas for each spread, print out book covers and stickers and past them if you make a mistake then it is difficult to correct but not in the reading journal.

I downloaded it but I didn’t use it because I couldn’t figure it out. How to use it. I didn’t use it at all. Towards the end of the year I downloaded it to goodnotes and I figured how a few things but it was too late in the year to use it.

Thankful for this user guide! It was very helpful while I set up my reading journal. It's easy to navigate and locate the answers I need.

Very helpful in learning how to use the Reading Journal. I liked the step by step instruction and the fact that it covered many questions that I had.

Below is the review for the reading book itself. The two go hand in hand so I think it's important to add to this review. I really appreciate when we are offered a guide to something technical, especially something I haven't ever used before. There is a lot that go into reading journals and if you aren't as technical savvy (like myself) a good guide can mean whether or not you actually use the thing! If you're going to use the reading journal, I absolutely recommend downloading the guide and keeping it somewhere you can reference - in case you come across any issues you can't figure out on your own! Thanks to NetGalley for writing this review for us and for allowing us the opportunity to have a way to keep up with all the books we read for this year!

I don't think it's necessary to post this review outside of NetGalley as it's only available through the app. I am really enjoying it! It makes it really easy to keep up with the ARCs I've been approved for so I can stay on top of what needs to be reviewed and read. I also really enjoy all the extra pages that are available... It's just a fun way to keep up with all the books you read in a year! I will be honest, I prefer a pen to paper kind of reading journal as it allows me to be creative.... But this reading journal allows me to be functional and productive so using the two together have been a lot of fun! I definitely recommend downloading if you plan on reading a lot of books in the upcoming years! Have fun, keep reading, and always be creative!

I appreciated that this guide was included, as I had never heard of digital journaling before and had no idea where to begin! It gives suggestions for both Mac and Android/Windows OS, including some recommended software I'd never heard of and am excited to play around with. I appreciate how considerately thought out this reading journal and accompanying materials are!

If you’re a book lover who’s ever felt overwhelmed by the growing stack of books you want to read, or you’ve forgotten the title of that amazing book someone recommended, then a reading journal is an absolute game changer. I recently started keeping one, and honestly, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made as a reader. Not only does it help me stay organized, but it’s also just incredibly fun to update and look back on. NetGalley really helped with those guide and the freebies that they attached with the reading journal. Worth the download.

I had to give up using the Reading Journal. I downloaded Goodnotes and that in itself has a steep learning curve. I had difficulty doing the basic pasting of a book image in the journal, and typing anything in the journal was an epic feat even with a keyboard. The Guide didn't do much to help me navigate Goodnotes. I can see the value of having a digital journal, but if it's going to take me several hours rather than 30 minutes, I'll stick to the old school way of tracking my TBR, books read, etc.
