Squeegee Art Revolution is a super fun book for any serious artist or for an art teacher. I was reading this book expecting it to be a casual, hobby-based book but it has many tool that I think would limit the book's audience and people's ability to use it. For that reason, I would not recommend it as an addition to a school or public library. I do think it could be great for an art class if they were actually going to do squeegee art or had the supplies to do it or for something like an art club. It would also be a great gift with some of the tools, paint, and a canvas.

What a fun technique!.You will not be bored with endless talk about topics throughly covered in every other art book ever written. In this book the author stuck to what she knows well and she does that very well! You will find what you need to successfully work with & experiment with this technique.

The project steps are clearly photographed and easy to follow. Colors are listed if you want to closely duplicate the projects. She includes (and points out) some things that didn’t go as expected and how she would adjust for next time. Each painting gets a bit more complex and builds your skills with this technique.

I see lots of fun potential applications for this. You could use this to create bright backgrounds in your art journal or for mixed media pieces. Different materials & scrapers will yield different results but the experimentation will be fun!

Flipping through this book, the energetic colours and positive energy make me feel inspired to create these projects just for the sake of creating. But, the ideas in this book make artwork that would look convincing on your wall, even if it's the first time that you have tried making any kind of art. The instructions include suggestions for cheap materials and equipment, but also very specific suggestions for the ones that might make your project easier. There are also tips for reducing wasted paint, but collecting it and reusing it. The first project or two seem easy, but there are more complicated projects included as well.

What a delight!

If you lurk on the creative internet, you’ll have occasionally seen videos of “squeegee” art: dots and/or lines of (usually) acrylic paint + a scraper >> beautiful abstract art. Clara Cristina de Souza Rego is one of the best at it. This is a wonderful book demonstrating techniques through projects you can try—which I did, to excellent effect. I even know what to correct because of de Souza Rego’s excellent instruction.

If you’d like to learn a quick way of producing colourful and stunning art without hours of investment in learning a new skill, this is the book for you. You’ll be amazed at the magic you produce.

This book gives really clear instructions for an art form I didn't care for. I suspect that these techniques will be of most use to experienced artists who want to add a new technique, The author suggests that it's a technique that kids like, but I wonder if those kids who like some level of precision in their work won't be devastated by their inability to control the outcome.

This book is a unique foray into a new art style with squeegee art offering easy and fun ways to feel artistic. As someone who has longed to try new styles, specifically involving painting, I loved how easy this way is to follow with examples that take you step-by-step. It's open enough to allow you to have a starting point and for you to try your own style in your own time. The examples were stunning and look like so much fun to try. I can't wait until I can get a squeegee and try them out for myself. I recommend this to those looking to express themselves artistically or searching for a new creative outlet. A great way to step into the world of art, Squeegee Art Revolution is perfect for those new to painting or those looking for something different.

Now I have a new art project obsession. This would be a great warm day porch project because you only need a few things to get started.

I see a lot of squeegee artwork being created on Instagram. A technique I very much wanted to explore for myself. When I saw this (e)book by Carla, I knew I had to have it. In her book we find discussion of the squeegee art form, the materials used, paints, squeegees, paper, brushes and pallet knifes plus how-to's of different techniques when using these materials. The book multiple demonstrations of various 'types' of this art form with clear instruction.

Curious parties should check this book out. You don't need to be an artist to create some beautiful squeegee artwork.

Ok so I was so excited when I got this book to review that I immediately ordered the supplies before I even finished reading. I am already trying out the projects and having so much fun! The author did such a wonderful job making this feel easy and fun and not at all intimidating. It’s the perfect balance of giving you guidance and instructions on technique and then letting your own creativity and imagination grow from there. If you have ever considered trying squeegee art but didn’t know where to start, I highly recommend this book.

This book is a quick look at a squeegee technique that can yield interesting abstract art paintings. The author does a fine job explaining the technique with photos of process steps and easily understood instructions. It could be a great on-ramp for those who are interested in painting but don’t know where to start.

This book starts with the authors introduction before delving into the basics of the rather delightful method that is 'squeegee art'. Tempting as it is to start creating right away, it is definitely advisable to read the sections covering the supplies we need to source to give us the very best results. Chapter 1 is extensive and really gives a lots of vital information, however without any undue ado we are quickly onto chapter 2: The projects (herein the fun really begins!!). Twenty-two delightful projects are featured.

The projects themselves are broken down into steps and that these are illustrated with photographs really helps. Some projects are abstract, others less so with somethings being 'seen' in the final result. With a huge range of projects, something is bound to appeal to each reader - personally I have a number of favourites and as such feel spoilt for choice!

Overall a beautiful book that I am enthused to start using to create squeegee art!

How fun! I have never heard of squeegee art until stumbling across this book. I am newly into reverse coloring books, where you doodle over existing abstract water color images, so this captured my attention right away, as a means of creating my own from start to finish.

The author covers all the basics of getting started, supplies needed, and includes lots of beautiful visuals and steps for reference. Luckily for me, I pretty much have everything needed already in my craft closet and around the house.

Who is this style of art for? All ages! If you are able to hold a squeegee (and old enough to know not to eat the paint 😆) then this is for you. It’s a great creative outlet when your creativity is squandered by stress. Been there… I think of it more as coloring your mood, and then doodling whatever comes to mind.

Squeegee art is not something I ever thought I’d try, but after reading this, I just might give it a go! This book does a good job of showing creativity in how to use different mediums, shapes, techniques, paints, drawing on top of the artwork..honestly, I didn’t realize there were so many options! I found the pop-art style to be the coolest, personally! This will definitely become a cool hobby for some people who want to relax, create, and transform their style of artwork!

Awesome book! I’ve always wanted to try this technique but didn’t know where to start. Great instructions and I can make designs that don’t look like mud. 😂 If you need a new hobby grab this and try it out!

I was hoping to find more things to do with kids/teens in my art play programs at my library. The projects here are more for an older crowd, but I enjoyed the book for myself and maybe the Teen librarian will enjoy it and get some ideas (she can borrow KY squeegees).

It would be suitable for a variety of people and levels, from working with children in schools right up to the more advanced artist. A new technique for me, and a great idea. Loved it !
