Jack is a retired police detective living in an isolated corner of Britain without a car, phone, internet, etc. He has a partner, Livia, who lives with her daughter in the nearby village. When A young girl is reported missing, an area police officer requests Jack’s help. This leads him back to two unsolved cold cases and a possible organization of wealthy and politically savvy individuals who pay for special requests. Who can Jack trust? This is the second entry in the series. I haven’t read the first yet but look forward to reading it.
