I love children's books that help them connect to famous artists. I'm including me in that group of kids. Cezanne's area is a beautiful part of France and makes a great place for a city boy to explore during his summer of exile. The clever artwork by Francois Place showing a man in a striped shirt gives clues to the knowledgeable reader what to expect at the end. For readers who are unfamiliar with Cezanne, the conclusion will be a delightful surprise.
