Nick Christos and Casey Meyers are neighbors in a swanky high rise apartment building. Nick is rich. Casey is not. When her parents die and she becomes an adult orphan, her rich aunt (former uncle) persuades her to move in with her. But Aunt Teddie is never home, so Casey has the place to herself. But Nick spends a lot of time there. Mostly nights. Because we find out he’s a vampire. And he has the hots for Casey, but that’s ok because she has the hots for him. Except for the whole vampire thing which he does not tell her about even as he stupidly draws attention to her in his world. What a dick.

This story is only ok for me. The writing is repetitive and the characters are ho hum. Casey’s constant whining about her chunky self is a huge turn off. Nick’s continued lying about who he is, also turn off. Casey is much too cool when she does find out about Nick the Vampire. I love Aunt Teddie though. The rest of the characters are forgettable. Not the worst book I’ve read, but certainly not the best.

Great surprise;
I did not expect this book to be fun.
A romance between a vampire of many years old and a human is a recurring plot, but the way the couple managed to keep the novel high-spirited, was very good.
Casey was quite different from the stereotype of women with whom Nick dated.
At first she did not know why he was that way- he was a vampire !! And when he, not hearing the voice of reason, decides to invite her to be his date in an event, the romance would be inevitable.

A fun read for those who like fantasy genre with lots of romance.

I wanted to like this, but it was far too campy and cliche to get into. I ended up skimming the majority of the book until the end.
